Thanks for admitting your bias and not giving biased commentary under the guise of neutral opinion. Honesty is respectable no matter your political views. Do you think parliament invokes article 66 to remove President Zeman? My understanding is that the Czech president is still in the hospital and unable to appoint a new prime minister. Also, what do you think of the chance of Babiš winning if he runs for president in the case that Zeman dies? I'm sure he wants that presidential immunity from the čapi hnízdo affair, assuming it would protect him from that.

The article 66 wil almost surely be activated as soon as the new chamber of deputies assembles. Babiš's chances of becoming the next president I'd rate 50-50. The nation is pretty evenly divided in its democratic/Western and authoritarian/Eastern outlook and it will depend on whose voters will arrive en masse. And not only would the presidency give Babiš near total immunity (short of high treason), he would also be able to pardon whoever he pleases, so his allies could basically ignore the law.

@@fantasy9917 I think I saw Nov. 8th (might be mistaken on that date) is when the new chamber assembles. Article 66 seems likely,, as you said, especially given the news that UZN gave yesterday. Hopefully there's not too much chaos from that situation when it comes about. I read that the presidential powers get transferred over to the prime minister, when it is invoked. Seems like an opportunity for the new chamber, but chaos can be leveraged by multiple sides, and I am sure Babiš is salivating at the idea of having a chance at the presidency for the political immunity privileges you talked about. Thanks for the insight!

Hello, sorry for the late response. Well - the first question solved itself, kinda. Regarding the second question - yes, I am certain that Babiš will run for president.

ANO is neither democratic or autocratic party, they are populist. They fight for what is popular in majority here in Czech Republic, if majority would like CZEXIT, they would fight for czexit, if majority would be for dissolving the Senate, they would be for dissolving it.

What the hell does it mean that ANO and SPD are undemocratic? SPD even has direct democracy (referenda) in its main program if i remember correctly. This "you are undemocratic" seems like a petty political bluffing to me.
@martinpavlicek2299

The fact that it has direct democracy in name does not mean it is democratic. There is difference between democracy and populism. Since first respects liberal legal framework and seccond is only for using swings of masses for support of authoritharian leader. SPD advocates for popular vote on issues but their idea is very undemocratic. I could imagine progresion towards direct democracy where people really vote on issues but you would really need the system to be nicely refined. Why? Because you need to give people option to colaborate in informed and constructive discussion rather than just fanaticaly vote on issues, passively choosing just between two authoritatively predetermined options which is the idea of most hypocritical authoritharians who advocate for direct democracy. In real direct democracy there would be framework for systematic disccussion of legal proposals, there would be non-binary voting schemes and preferential voting and people would have legislative initiative to propose new themes to discuss and vote on or new options into the voting. Basically you would need to take the system that exists inside parliaments and adjust it for mass discussion and deccision making using new technologies etc. I think we can start such a movement from grass by creating open-protocol open-source social network connecting non-profit organisations, vollunteers, municipal goverments and local civic communities. Such a social network could awake municipal civic community and motivate municipal goverments to incorporate ellements of direct democracy into decission making. Also for wide scale direcr demoracy you would need to somewhat support poeple to have time, informations and living conditions to be able to actively participate in discussion. Seccond, Tomio Okamura, leader of SPD is all fake. SPD is his seccond party, he had USVIT (DAWN) party before and he robbed it of its money. He robbed his own party. His politicians are allign to Russias semi-totalitarian system. When he speaks about direct democracy he almost exclusively speaks only about voting on leaving eu. This is almost his only theme regarding direct democracy so basicaly he really just wants to get popularity from advocating voting on one specfic controversial issue. And he probably does not even want Czechs to vote on leaving EU because if we did leave EU, Okamuras party would lose big part of its purpose and themes. He does not even want to enter executive cabinet because everyone could see his incompetence and his political career would end. He is anti-imigrant, anti-minorites, conspiracy-favoring, holocaust denying opportunist. Based on your profile picture I guess you are anarcho-capitalist. Let me tell you that Okamura is totaly not for anarcho-capitalism and he is also not for democracy, if he could, he would easily work within totalitarian framework.
