2021 DMAX REAR WINCH INSTALL HOW TO !

I wouldn't be using your AGM/Lithium for winching. I would run the power lead all the way to the front main battery, imho. I know a towbar is designed to pull heavy things like caravans etc, but is it designed and strong enough to have a winch using it as a mount for when pulling? I know neither you nor I are engineers, but Im just curious, as I was thinking of having a rear winch as well.

Hey mate appreciate your really and the honesty , see I was torn between doing that as I should of explained in the video unfortunatly I’m not the best video maker haha , my reason for doing it is I was worried about the voltage drop being to high from the front to the back as it will be pulling higher amps when under a full load pull and I don’t plan on using it often or at all hopefully ! I think it’s definetly strong enough , I have seen and had friends have the same thing in other 4bys, every time I do a recovery or need to be pulled out backwards it’s always off the tow bar, and also the bull bar has thinner attachment plates to the chassis, less and thinner bolts holding it there. , cheers

@@MY2021dmax Yeah I thought of voltage drop, but thought if you run 0 gauge all the way back, made up your own cables it might reduce that. Again no idea here.. just thoughts :)

@@dansdmaxtravels2839 yea possibly but the amount I’ll use it and the extra effort pluss the amount of cables I’ve already got surrounding that battery aha just thought it wasn’t worth it but if ya do lemme know how it goes , also I didn’t say in the vid this but the best hack I found was just buying jumper leads , 35mm sq 7m for $30 whereas at bay car it’s about $30 per metre

Yea mate done a couple , heaps good for stabilising to between a tree and the car when she’s slippery
