This is my first Ducati. Primarily owned and raced sports bikes, my last one being a 2000 Honda RC51. Never been an iron butt rider, but done some medium travel on the RC torture seat after putting back on all of the street gear. Moved to electric, purchased a used 2017 Zero DSR, and really enjoyed it. Amassed a few thousand miles in 19 months. Waited to see what Zero would release with their current DSR/X. Looked at the Energica Experia too. Each of those bikes is around the same price as the MS V4S. When I compared the features of the MS V4S to both the Energica and Zero there is NO COMPARISON. As an ex-road racer, I'm a real bitch about suspension, brakes, and tire pressure. Being able to adjust suspension WITH AN EFFING JOYSTICK on the fly is mind-bending to me. The only adjustment on suspension that requires a wrench is the front fork preload on the right fork leg top. Like you I was a bit nervous about the adaptive cruise control. First, because I've never owned a bike with any cruise control let alone adaptive that uses radar. I'm getting use to it, but it still freaks me out a bit even if it works well. The blind spot radar should now be required on ALL MOTORCYCLES. Yes I still head check, but man since the rear radar contemplates how fast an approaching vehicle is traveling it's really great. I feel the blind spot radar is 'adaptive' based on how it contemplates a vehicle's approaching speed. Yep 25k is a ton of money. But then again so is 6+ a gallon here in the SF Bay Area. Worked my entire life to put two kids through college and save my pennies for the future. Well the future is now so I figured WTF am I waiting for? Lucked out and bought the dealer's demo 2022 MS V4S Sport that has a cool color scheme too; black/red/white with a carbon front fender and Akropovic slip on exhaust as standard on that model. She's a heavy girl for sure and since I'm 5-8 with a 30" inseam I bought the lower seat which works well. Pushing the suspension button to set the rear preload to MIIN is great. Can disengage it by pushing it again or when the bike goes over 70MPH. I write for Web Bike World and will be doing a full written review for them. I want to clock at least 1k miles before doing so. There is SO MUCH to cover on an actual owner's review, but I feel it will help others. One thing I hate? The Ducati Connect app combined with the Sygic navigation POS. I vote for Ducati to loan you a bike you can take on a 2 thousand mile trip! I named my bike Joy. I'm sure you know why.

It just bought a 2022 from MMS in Roswell. It's incredible. Great service from their entire team. Will have the 621 miles for first service completed within a few more days. I had a BMW s1000XR a few years ago and the Multi V4S should be compared to that and not the BMW r1250gs imo. The multi very much has the panigale on stilts with comfort and touring features feeling. thats how the XR felt too. the only demerit for me about the otherwise incredible MSV4S is it's HORRIBLE gas mileage. But it's a Ducati, so its nice to get off every 150 miles or so to cool off anyway.

Im surprised no manufacturer has made shifting electric ya know via a servo motor kinda thing so the shift lever rather than being mechanical would be a switch and then of course that entirely opens the door the the cpu shifitng the bike also for an auto mode...I mean i know there is already dual clutch but those add a lot more weight than 2 pound servo motor....my Yammie T9GT has a tiny short shift lever which actually pains my toes to upshift Yamaha moved the motor further up and rotated it for improved handling and that is just what they had left to work with....but I mean with a servo shift the cpu could even auto find nuetral whenever bike comes to a halt for more than so many seconds (would be adjustable of course) A bike like Multi Strada would be the duhh first bike to see that on too!

You went from 2 to 4 cylinders with the same displacement and don’t understand why torque went down. Simple lesson - the longer the stroke, the longer that lever on the crank, the more torque it can make - conversely - the further it has to travel, so the more difficulty for it to rev high. Short fat cylinders, short distance to travel, rev sky high, make buzy horsepower. Long skinny - the opposite.

Top optioned out BMW XR1000 hits $22,000. So the Ducati is $3,000 more! Sounds too high a price to me. I mean think about it. Paying 50% of a high end SUV! For a production bike. Not cool.
