It does have hill hold, also if you go with the travel pack you get the center stand, heated grips and side cases as standard.

OC: I do really love this Multistrada V2! It's my dream bike really. And I think it's better than the V4. The looks are amazing, and you don't really need all the power from the V4. But maybe it's just me XD

Chase. There is a gray button with a "lock" graphic on it on the right grip just below the starter buttons. If you have the key (the one that is the remote keyfob) in your pocket, just press that "lock" button with your right thumb. The electronics will start up, exactly as if you twisted that black start button in the center, just below the main display. No need to struggle with that black switch at all. By the way, this is how things work on the Ducati Diavel as well. I notice you had the same complaint with that bike. And, by the way, I own the Multistrada V2 S that you are reviewing in this video. Thanks for the fun review!

I bought one in the U.K. V2S Travel, it is the best bike I have ever owned, and I have had a few as I am very old now. It is a keeper, I tried the V4S and could have bought it, but, this is far more fun and capable in my view for a single rider as you suggest. Your review is spot on in my view and sits with my own view on the machine. Thanks for the honest review.

Nice review chase. I've been through 3 Ducati's in the past 4 years prior to ordering the 2023 V2S. 2022 Pikes Peak, 2023 Desert X and 2023 Diavel V4. Albeit all amazing bikes, I needed something that could do everything well, twisty back roads, highway touring and light off-road. The only bike IMO that can achieve this is the V2S. I've equipped my V2S with spoked wheels to make it a little more off-road user friendly. The Pikes Peak and Diavel have incredible power; although, I think it's unusable most of the time on public roads. The Desert X which is more off-road oriented, does very well on twisty back roads considering it has a 21" front wheel. The caveat for me with the DX is it did not feel stable at higher speeds on the highway. I haven't taken delivery of the V2S yet; however, based on your review and many others, it appears the V2S will be better suited for highway rides.

OC…own a 2019 multistrada 950s, pretty much a V2s. Man I love this bike. Totally agree about it being the Multistrada sweet spot. Also, if you have the key in your pocket you can push the bottom button on the left controls that looks like a padlock and that will turn the bike on or off. Don’t need to turn that key thing in front of dash. Glad you like the bike! 28:51

OC: As I said in the chat of your most recent livestream, my next bike IS going to be a Multistrada. However, the V2S is missing a few things that are a must for me; 17" front wheel, single-sided swingarm, and factory heated grips. So, instead of getting a new Multi V4 or V2S, I'm working a few leads on low mileage 2020 Multi 1260S availability. One of the leading candidates is listed as being at Mountain Motorsports there in GA. Who knows, let's see if the timing works out and make an event out of it.

Torn between the multi V2S and Supersport 950s - which would you choose for a bike that will be 45% canyon cruising, 10% two-up trips under an hour, and 45% around town cruising? Note this is in a cooler climate state, Colorado.

These Multi V2 bikes are incredibly hard to move, especially if a customer comes in and test rides a V4 as well. 9/10 times they spend the extra money to get the V4. Not sure if that is the case everywhere in North America. Personally, I think they're one of the best bikes in the Ducati lineup.
@osafoca

I think they sell better over in Europe due to the more windy roads and less obsessions over cc's, but yea they do have more V4's on the floor in Europe.

I have a supersport 950, I tried the multi v4s and loved it. I'd get the multi v2s though because that engine is so much more soul. But yeah in France (where I live) most take the v4 just for the comfort.
@robertmontefusco1902
@robertmontefusco1902 4 ай бұрын
I think buying a V4 is more about ego and bragging rights. I owned 3 V4's, SF, DX and Diavel V4, amazing engine; however, not necessary for the road. I opted for the lighter more corner friendly all rounder V2S. The SF, DX and Diavel are all more single purpose bikes, where the V2S can do it all well.

@@awkwardmoto Hello. The V4S doesn't fit my use case as well. Aside from that, I emphasize for me personally, 1) it's a 'heavier' bike relative to the V2S and feels that way when ridden; 2) the engine puts out much more heat than the V2S and I live in an especially warm climate region; 3) it is so easy to ride at speeds far above legal limits that I realized a) I would be getting into trouble constantly b) tickets would be costly or worse c) I'd do something stupid OR d) I'd be throttling it's capabilities. If I were taking long distance / cross country trips (riding two up), I was a larger / heavier rider and lived in the northern US., that would change my calculus. Hope that helps!
@robertmontefusco1902

Agreed, Pikes Peak is amazing, had one for a year. Down side for me was it's size, weight and zero off-road capability. Also, all that power is not useable most of the time on public roads. The V2 is more than adequate in that department.
