The instant torque on these could definitely be interesting and catch people off guard

Oh, motorbike nonsese too! Trials bikes are the perfect application for electrickery, instant torque, weight low down, short riding times and less noise to annoy people. I'm sold! Except I'll probably buy a 4 stroke one until the electric ones come down in price. Yamaha made one, but it never made it into prodcution, apparently there's not a lot of money in making trials bikes.

Oh hello Michael! Thanks!

4 strokes trials are horrible. Stall easy, hard to start, tons of engine braking, etc. Only reason to ride on is if you get paid to do so. I've had 2 stroke, 4 stroke, and now this bike. It's way better than my 2 strokes, which were awesome. You'll bridge the cost gap in gas and low maintenance. The battery in this bikes last twice as long as a tank of gas in a normal trials, fyi. They really nailed it. I charge it every 2-3 rides, and best part is the batt meter is % based, so no guess work. Anyway, amazing machines. Highly recommend.

Tim, what are your thoughts on the clutch if you were to buy this tomorrow?
@timrodierides Жыл бұрын
I'd definitely want one with the clutch - just gives more things to learn and more progression. But I'm coming at this from a complete novice's PoV who's never ridden a petrol trials bike!

600 NM is a marketing spec as it is the wheel torque, not the motor! The motor torque is ~40 NM. Modern gas trials bikes are twice the power, ~10kg lighter and have much higher torque on the low gears. So the electrics are not quite there yet. Mecatecno dragonfly was the most promising 60 Kg 15 KW with a gear box, but looks like they have disappeared.
