After the reset, Pierre and Seb were 14 & 15 on track. By lap 60, they were 8 & 14. Pierre nearly beat Seb's teammate (who had no issues) and was miles up track. Pierre's team cost him a possible top 5. Even with no issues, does Seb score points?

@@tylersimmons6524 well I think pierre has a better car rn than AMR21 and yeah he had a good restart and Seb was never on the top of the car but the fact that AMR21 had gearbox issues for both the cars and it gave a reflection of a fine job done by Stroll considering he almost caught up Riccardo at P6 who imo had a really below par weekend according to his usual standards and he might be feeling it too with that problem and Gasly did a great recovery drive too.

I don't think that most Lando fans are writing him off because believe it or not they are mostly also Mclaren fans and as such we want both our drivers to get the best out of the car for the team. If Lando stays on top I won't say I'm mad but I think there aren't many people who don't like Danny Ric and objectively Lando has a lot more time left in F1 than Daniel. Not gonna lie, there are definitely people biased against him, and it's ridiculous that there are those. But it's also difficult to really say it's his performance and not a large portion the car, which makes the 'what a great drive'-comments a bit less valid. I think he's a brilliant driver but it's also not deniable that Mercedes have been the most dominant team in F1 history so far. As a result, it's hard to distinguish between 'he had a great drive' and 'most drivers would have had a great drive with this car'. It's moment like the recovery drive in Imola now that shows how much better he is than Bottas, but then again Bottas is absolutely terrible at the moment. For me, it's things like his rookie season, his qualifying performance, and generally his race craft that makes him the best driver of all time. That doesn't mean that anyone criticizing him is automatically biased, which sometimes seems to be the case. I get that this comparibility-issue is a more common problem in F1 in general, but in previous dominant periods, several teams were the ones knocking on the door (different teams getting wins and poles) and generally dominant teams could not maintain a lead this much (improvement in engineering, more predictability from computer modeling, etc.). All credit to Mercedes for doing so, but it's makes the argument 'Hamilton is just brilliant because he wins' not that great. I personally think he's extremely good but I get annoyed at the argumentation used to call him the best ('he has 7 world titles' is a non-argument for me, to be honest). From my experience, there's plenty of people with similar ideas (there is also hating idiots, unfortunately).

I think, regarding the Russell and Bottas incident, was pretty much an unlucky situation. They were in the left kink as Bottas moved towards the right, making the car point straight towards the grass. Since Russell has so much overspeed, he cannot properly judge when Bottas will abort his move and due to the slippery surface of the track, Russell could not have really reacted to it, even though Bottas left enough space. It's just the trajectory that carried him out towards the grass or the wet parts. Edit: I also want to leave my opinion about Toto. Sure, Russell wants to be in the Mercedes, but he still has a team he races for. This has, in my mind, nothing to do with Toto nor Mercedes nor showing off or anything. It's just taking as much points from the slower Bottas who happened to be infront of Russell

I honestly think it's amazing that, in BOTH races so far, we've been like, "Danny Ric has been kind of meh...," and yet, these "meh" performances have given him a P7 and a P6. Just imagine what it's gonna look like when we can finally say, "Wow, Daniel looked fast." I think McLaren have a really good car, and once Daniel gets his feet under him, they will be far and away the 3rd best car.
@theglitch312

@@lostalone9320 Forget about regular P3s though, you'll likely only dissapoint yourself. Because on race pace Max and Lewis were about a second clear of Norris. Max was 24s clear of Norris in about as many laps after the red flag. That would've been about 1m if the entire race was uninterrupted. Imagine if Bottas doesn't have an absolutely shit weekend, he can easily slot in that gap. And when Perez gets used to the car (same excuse as Daniel, but he has an even faster car), he'll be up there as well. On pace, in Imola at least, McLaren were even the 4th best car, not the 3rd. Because Leclerc was well clear of Norris as well before the restart kind of fucked him over. So a few P3s, and maybe a single lucky P2 or win is most likely what'll happen.

With bahrain Hamilton track limits, I think most people (at least me and the people I spoke to) were shouting at the inconsistency of the rules. I was fine with lando's lap being deleted as that was the rules and they were consistent (for example yuki got a penalty and people got penalties for overtaking off track, rightly so) but the rule was stupid in Bahrain. Hamilton gained an advantage like many other drivers in the race and they were allowed to but the stewards need to keep it the same and make it clear to all drivers like they have done in imola.

They did make it clear in the drivers briefing. It’s published online. It’s RBR who missed a beat.... but I agree: why bar it in FP and quali and allow it in the race. But that’s not the point. Inconsistent application of rules should be directed at Masi. There’s a video online showing that HAM wasn’t even the driver who went wide at T4 the most. But all people talk about is that one video of Hamilton doing it.... you must have an objective set of friends, but consensus on the interwebs seems to be that Hamilton cheated somehow.

Apparently my view of everything is far different from everyone else. To start, I have emphatically defended Toto Wolff. He took a struggling team and indoctrinated them into not just a winning mentality, but a championship mentality. With that being said, Toto Wolff has been honestly extremely manipulative and controlling with regards to Russell and Williams. Let me explain. Toto Wolff has consistently held that Mercedes seat over Russell’s head and literally said “if he drives well then he’ll drive a Mercedes and if he doesn’t then he’ll be in the Clio Cup”. Does nobody see how manipulative that is? I get that it was a joke, but still, it perfectly sums up what Wolff has been doing to Russell since he came out of F2. Then he has the audacity to say that Russell lacks “Global Perception” and that Russell (Williams) should race Mercedes differently despite the fact that Wolff put Russell in that Williams seat which is the worst seat on the grid with the expectation that he’d get a Mercedes seat. Williams is an independent team who has a strong legacy in F1. They just got hundreds of millions of dollars in financing and they’re trying to prove that they can use those funds to get back to the front. They’re fighting hard to get off the back of the grid. Russell had two Alfa’s who is Williams’ direct competitor this year breathing down his neck, he knew that Latifi crashed on the first freaking lap, he knew that this was Williams’ best shot at points this year, and he was trying to get as many points as possible to hold the edge over Alfa. Of course he was going to take that gap. He’s a championship caliber driver who has been in the worst seat on the grid for three years now and never sees the points. Of course he’s eager to take everything he can when the opportunity presents itself. Not only for himself, but for the team as well. The only person missing a “global perception” is Toto Wolff. I get that they have a contract together, but that contract can be voided by either party at any moment for any reason. Russell has put his faith in Toto and Toto uses that against Russell. That’s so annoying and that’s where Russell’s frustrations came from. That’s why we saw Russell snap right after the crash and with the media. He’s frustrated and he has every right to be. Also, if you watch the crash from Alfa’s Pod cam, you can see Bottas move over to the right aggressively and see Russell react. That’s why Sky Sports played that video for Toto Wolff while saying “you’d naturally blame Russell but watch this view”. It was both of them. Russell aquaplaned on the asphalt (you can hear his differential cut and his engine rev), it wasn’t the grass. Bottas ran him up there because he knew it was wet and Russell would back off. Russell didn’t. They wrecked. It was absolutely both of their fault and I can’t believe how the media is twisting this. Russell is a great kid who’s already done many things to further this sport (he’s the reason I started to watch F2/1 in 2018). He’s a future world champion. If Toto wants to continue playing games, then he needs to cut Russell loose and Russell needs to decide if he wants to bring Williams back to the top, or go to a different team like Red Bull or McLaren and challenge Mercedes every single race, proving them wrong.

Haven't watched yet, but what are the chance that Russell saw Bottas qualify 8th & he just spent the whole night thinking "I should be in that seat". The way Mercedes treat him, he's gonna snap eventually, he keeps getting teased about this seat & then they are surprised he's not patient to put his whole career on hold for Mercedes forever. Both Russell & Bottas know only one of them is likely in that seat in 2021 & the longer that decision keeps being teased on Russel the worse it is for him mentally I believe.

But it took year of failure at Ferrari for Vettel to stop being a wanker.

Every time you guys mention the Charles LeClerc seatbelt incident, I still have no idea how that’s not a race ban or a hefty fine for Ferrari at all. I think people just like when the rules benefit someone who is struggling instead of someone who’s winning/has an already good position.!

TBH, I got into this race weekend hating imola, because of all the BS regarding the trains. But i really like the fact you are punished for your mistakes, and how you can't just rejoin in the same position. Even if it hurt my fav driver perez this week alot.

Is it pick on Katy day? As always love the thoughts and the vid from all three of you. Thanks for giving Luis credit for being an amazing driver. That was a fair and honest depiction. That is why I watch your vids. Daniel was poor compared to Lando however, he quali 6th and finished 6th. That is good in such chaos.
