I test drove the car and really like the power behind it .It also handled well .If your looking for a car for power and handling .This will be hard to beat .The arm rest were a little narrow and the centre compartment was a little small .The Vignale is definitely the best one of the lot .I want to Order one soon .

I have ordered my Vignale FWD, as it demolishes the similarly priced Mazda CX-5 GT Turbo for on board tech and features. Also the CX-5 requires servicing every 10,000kms, the Escape is every 15,000kms.

@@auPython I am also thinking to order my Vignale. Just thinking about should I get AWD or FWD. Did you order Vignale with 19” wheel or 20” wheel. Does 20” wheel make any difference in driving comfort.
@auPython
@auPython 3 жыл бұрын
@@ymkgm7916 With regard to AWD or FWD. If you regularly drive in slippery conditions, snow or on very wet roads for example, then AWD is best for you. Otherwise FWD will suffice, lowering the purchase price, reducing weight which should improve fuel economy. As for 19" or 20" wheels, for an SUV, 19" wheels are the better choice in my opinion, as 20" wheels could decrease ride comfort slightly.

They should just bring the hybrid really or the Rav4 will steal everything in its path

I agree, the non-plugin hybrid would do well in our market, considering the RAV4 Hybrid's sales success.

I had a bit of a look at the ST Line and wasn't impressed with the interior at all. Which is a shame because this has probably the best engine in this segment. I'm in the market at the moment and this does look pretty good, but don't know if I'm willing to pony up over 50k for the Vignale.
@pastorofmuppets8834

Me too. For me though if it handles well and goes quick then I'll probably buy it. Thing is I've got a Focus RS so I'm easily pleased when it comes to interior! I'll do my darnedest to avoid buying a dual clutch or CVT so it rules out the RAV4. Maybe the CX-5 though.

Fuel consumption sounds horrendous for a 2ltr turbo engine. I'm 'old school' and HATE the iPad protruding from the dash. I know they are common these days but I reckon they are 'butt ugly'. Obviously not my choice for a replacement of my current compact SUV.

$40K for the cheapest model?!? No, thanks. Been burnt by Ford Escape before -- so hard to flog off a car no one wants. Ordering a RAV4 GX Hybrid and just going to cop the 6-month wait. Meh!

$36,490 drive away is the current offer from Ford for the entry level. And a $500 test drive bonus. That with $299 servicing, and an impressive spec sheet and drivetrain I believe Escape is priced extremely strongly.

Ford have no idea and haven't for years. The SUV market is BOOMING and they dropped the Endura because it's a dud lol. Can't even get an SUV right. Call me Ford and I can tell you what was wrong with it!
@pastorofmuppets8834
@pastorofmuppets8834 3 жыл бұрын
They probably don't care given the amount of Rangers you see on the road. What was wrong with the Endura? I quite like the titanium AWD, and a relatively new one can be had for about the high 40s!

@billybob1511 3 жыл бұрын
@@pastorofmuppets8834 If they don't care why do they introduce Endura in the first place? That exercise would have costs them a lot of money. At the end of the day Ford don't have much idea about their product design.

@auPython

The Vignale FWD compares favourably on price with the competition. The Mazda CX-5 Akera Turbo, the top of the line CX-5 with engine performance at least close to the Vignale FWD, is a couple of thousand dollars more expensive. The CX-5 is AWD, but most will only ever need FWD. If you do drive to the snow fields in winter then the AWD version any SUV would be required. The Vignale is available in AWD if that is what a customer needs. Even on a near equal price footing Escape Vignale AWD vs Mazda CX-5 Akera Turbo, just a couple of hundred dollars between them according to the Ford and Mazda's respective websites, the Vignale is better equipped. It has more features, better tech, longer service intervals and cheaper fixed priced servicing for the first four years. But I do agree that a cheaper entry level model would help sell more Escapes. There is a 1.5l Turbo three cylinder version available oversees. Clearly Ford Australia chose not to import this variant, maybe they believe it would be too under powered for Australian drivers. It could have been the cheaper entry level Escape. Possibly it may have increased Escape's total sales numbers, but alas we will never know.
