I am absolutely in love with this new ranger, I’ve always had a soft spot for rangers after owning a few back in the early 2000’s but the new ones are a huge leap in technology and power. Smart deal. And Cactus grey is so nice and I like how it still looks like a truck not a space ship. I think I seen it in the background in the vidio when you were teaching us on changing out a bike tire. I thought it was an off white color we love it and would like to see more of it in future vidios and how spacious it is. And I believe I seen she still has the red Dodge thankyou Salty and peace. I have a 2020 Ford Ranger myself, bought new last September + loving it so far. Being I live up in Minnesota I got the 4x4 version, but just the standard 4x4 as I use it in the snowy Winters, but certainly don't do any off-roading etc. I agree with you on the insurance. Mine went up only $5/year over my previous Ford Taurus SHO with AWD, but a much bigger 3.5 liter twin turbo EcoBoost V6. Your/my Ford Ranger will eat a Toyota Tacoma, 4 cylinder or V6 models! That Toyota V6 is a natural aspirated 3.5 liter engine that produces appreciably less low-end torque than the Rangers 2.3 liter EcoBoost 4 cylinder turbo. Also the Toyota Tacoma's automatic transmission is only a 6 speed unit. I do love the Ford 10r80 ten speed automatic put in these later model Ford Ranger trucks. It comes directly out of the much bigger Ford F-150 models which have bigger EcoBoost V6's as well as of course the Coyote 5.0 liter V8 so this beefy transmission in a "smaller" midsized truck should be plenty durable + also contributes to the class-leading 7,500 pound towing capacity. The Tacoma cannot match the Rangers towing ability or payload capacity either. Being our Ford 2.3 EcoBoost is turbocharged, it'll also loose less horsepower at higher elevations too. I average 22-24 MPG in "mixed" work/daily driving in my 4x4 XLT Super Cab Ranger. I've gotten as high as 27.5 MPG (hand calculated) on the interstate at 70 MPH. The absolute worst MPG I've got has been 18-21 MPG in very frigid -20 temps with lots more idling etc. My Ranger is not completely stock however as I've added a Mishimoto full-sealed cold air intake with a "dry" non-oiled synthetic cone filter, an AWE Tuning 0FG 3 inch stainless steel exhaust system as well as a Mountune Performance heavy-duty, high performance intercooler. All these upgrades have produced quite noticeable gains in power/performance. I'll very soon be getting a Livernois Motorsports custom tune on my Ranger too. They've been tuning EcoBoost motors for a long time with great results. Their Ranger EcoBoost tunes will add up to 80 rear-wheel horsepower & up to 100 ft/lb of torque as well as fine-tune the shifting characteristics of the 10r80 transmission. There are custom calibrated tunes for towing/economy/race etc + even for fuel octanes from 87-93 so very versatile! I only wish I could've gotten a 4 door Super Crew model, but I did get an awesome deal on mine at the time. Great review!

Wow! thank you so much for all of the information and detail! Sounds like we both made a great choice. I also looked at hp, torque, towing, payload, fuel economy, all of that and the ranger comes out on top in every aspect. I think the only thing the tacoma has going for it is resale value may be a bit higher but I have no intentions of selling mine in the next decade if not longer. I am absolutely loving this truck. For a 4(turbo) it has a ton of pep and 7,500 towing capacity was unheard of from even a v6 years ago. I've got just over 1,200 miles on mine now and I've been averaging around 23mpg with I'd say about 90% of that city traffic and I am super happy with that. My fusion got around 27mpg average so for a truck I am stoked. I can't wait for our first trip pulling the 6x12 trailer with 3 bikes in the back to see what I average on the highway. My wifes Ram 1500 V8 averages around 12mpg hauling that trailer so if I can get anything over 15 I will be extremely pleased but I'm truly hoping for around 18ish but that's for a later discussion. Once again, thanks a lot for your comment and if you ever do a walk around video on your ranger I'd love to see it.

@@SALTxTHExWOUND, glad you love your new Ford Ranger too. People did miss the last Ford Ranger when they discontinued them here in the USA. Some folks criticize saying the Ranger is now "too big", too high/tall, too costly, no V6 engine option etc. But like you I indeed think it's "just right". I don't have a Family myself so it's just great for me. You will indeed get some great towing fuel economy I think. TFL Truck, another You Tube channel had a guy test a Ranger with an OEM leveling kit, 33 inch tall tires on steel rims, Super Crew cab loaded with 4 people, the bed loaded with over 1,000 pounds & towing a dual axle car trailer with a 1972 Mercedes Benz & motorcycle weighing 6,100 pounds. He also had Timbren SES rear bumpstops installed instead of the OEM Ford ones. He averaged 14.9 MPG "towing" at 65 MPH! Amazing! For yours 23 MPG in mostly "city" stop/go driving is super. It will likely get better once the engine "breaks-in" more. I bought my Ford Ranger with around 1,700 miles on it. I saved around $7K on mine because of that as I was used as a Ford "Courtesy Car" (loaner) for a very short period. So I couldn't pass-up the deal. I do use full synthetic oil in mine which I believe does help engine life as well as the MPG. I'm stoked at getting my Livernois Motorsports tune on mine very soon. I hear Ford may offer their twin turbo 2.7 liter V6 (as on the new Ford (big) Bronco with the 10 speed automatic on the next generation Ranger, but for only a 138 cubic inch four cylinder motor even the factory 270 horsepower is good. I just like more, lol. That's almost 2 horsepower/cubic inch! Look back a few years ago to even now, most engines for that size (especially tuned for "truck"/hauling duty) can't get close to that! And also of the other "midsized" trucks obviously use an optional V6 as their top engine offering, that still doesn't compare to the Rangers 2.3 liter EcoBoost. Yes, you are indeed right. The Toyota Tacoma does hold better resale value, but it is also quite expensive in the 1st place. But the Ford Ranger is still up there for resale value too. I've heard/read still 60%+ of it's original price in 5 years. With all the truck "shortages" out there now, I've seen 2019 Rangers going for more than the $32K "MSRP" price of mine. I've seen a "mint" 30K mile 4x4, Super Cab XLT 2011 Ranger for sale at $20K + used "average" miles (for the year) 120-160K mile later 2008-2011 model Rangers sell for still $11-15K so still quite good & alot better than most any sedans like your Ford Fusion. I look forward to seeing the mods you plan for your Ranger!

yes! mine doesn’t have the remote start key fob either, I actually prefer the app bc you can start it from your bedroom or your office or anywhere really, you don’t have to be within a certain range

New trucks ARE hard to find right now. We were going to get a new Tacoma a couple months ago until we found out there's a shortage. The best cash deal we could find was MSRP. Most dealers are marking up above sticker. They call it a "market adjustment". We're going to try to wait it out until supply catches back up with demand. 🤞 ❤❤❤ D, E, and J

I just received my 2021 Ranger Roush which is built on the platform of the XLT. Very sharp truck. I am an old guy who likes the aggressive look on my truck so I added the Sports bar and Ranger plates to the bar, and the matching bed cover. This whole setup reminds me of the Raptor I used to have on a smaller scale. I am hoping Ford brings the Raptor Ranger to the states in a year or so which they have released in the UK. Anyways, the Ranger is a great truck. If you decide to add mods to yours please post another listing of the mods.

here in Brazil, this medium sized pick up trucks are a hit, the only big one is the RAM 2500, we have the toyota hilux ( like a tacoma but asian version ), ranger, chevy s-10 ( almost a colorado ), nissan frontier ( navara ), mitsubishi L200 and VW amarok. I think the ranger balances confort and toughness better, but the toyota is sky high in sales since 2006 here.

@@SALTxTHExWOUND and I forgot to metion, all with diesel engines, toyota and chevy with 2.8 TDI ( the chevy has the same duramax from the colorado ), VW with the 2.0 Twinturbo diesel and 3.0 V6 TDI, nissan with a 2.3 twinturbo diesel and mitsubishi with a 2.4 twinturbo diesel engine, most of them with 200cv and 50 kg of torque, with and exception for the v6 diesel amarok from VW wich has 258cv. And of course the RAM 2500 with the 6.7 cummings and the 1500 rebel with the v8 gasoline. The gasoline options on the medium sized trucks are only naturally aspirated engines, toyota with the jurassic 2.7 vvt and chevy with 2.5 direct injection. The ranger has both engines with diesel injection, a 2.2 (Black; XLS; XL ) and a 3.2 (XLT; STORM; LIMITED ). I think they don't bring the ecoboost engines because they would kill the diesel models.

Did you experience shudder and vibration at low speeds specially when moving after a stop. I am looking to buy a new 2021 Ranger and driven few new ones. All had this issue with varying degree. A lifted truck was the worse.

Try driving them in sport? Also the Ford performance tune helps this alot. The engine tends to lug to much at low speeds and high gears.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you do to your truck man! I’m really surprised on the tow rating. 7500lbs? That’s insane. My truck is rated at 8000lbs with the 6.2 v8. They must have came a long way with that turbo engine. I do have the same exact bike as you. 2015 750 with only 3k miles on it... I never ride... It’s only my weekend thing and it’s already too hot out here in az...
