Just bought a Husky FX450 this year. I have been loving it so far. I am trying to figure out what I like with the suspension set up (About 210lbs without gear on). How much PSI do you run in your forks? I also need to change the rear spring as well. I have been loving your videos man. I'm addicted to ESS!
@EverySingleSunday2 жыл бұрын
I actually did a a conversion in the forks to closed chamber and springs. Dave at Schmidt Performance in Perris CA always dials me in. Give him and ring and he can help you with slings rates or whatever. I also recommend adding a bladder kit to the shock as it’s helps with small bump compliance and makes it work much better.

I just checked this exact Bike out at my local Dealer, It is narrow like a 2 stroke and light like one as well. Still a pretty hefty price tag when compared to a Japanese Bike though, for not coming with a few options. Like the 450fx comes with the Map tuner WiFi capability and its well over 1,500$ less than this, but this weighs what 20lbs less. I do like this but I want to ride a few models before I make my decision. I would like to see a long term reliability comparison to the Yamaha, for the weight savings alone I would consider this.
@racesla4 жыл бұрын
Went one tooth down on the countershaft sprocket on my Beta 430 and that was spot on. Still had plenty of top end but made it so much better in the tight single track and for climbing. With that I didn't have to add any links in the chain and it moved the wheel back a bit in the swing arm which is nice for high speed stability. Thinking about getting a GasGas EX model myself. Enjoy cheers.

I’ve been going between the two ideas but already have a rear sprocket in the garage. Should be able to flip the rear block and be good to go for 2 teeth GasGas is GoodGood

How is the stock rear spring rate for your weight? Is it out of balance with the front? What sag do you run? I like your calm level headed delivery in your vid
@EverySingleSunday2 жыл бұрын
I’m 245. The stock rear spring was good for slower more technical riding like we did in this video. If you plan on going Fast, you’ll want to bump up to the proper rate Not sure the sag, but it was probably around 130 or so

@@EverySingleSunday Would love to see it and hear your opinion. Some prefer the Sherco because of the harsh higher gears on the GasGas transmission and the smoothness of the Sherco. I am taking Ryan Young's trials training in Tennessee in June. Looking forward to it.

These big-bore thumpers are way over-kill for my neck of the woods... but I think you're going to have a blast with this EX in the desert 😎 I've been trying to reason what the purpose of Gas-Gas is in the KTM line up. I hear "budget bike" mentioned in reference to the new Gas-Gas bikes, but $9k+ is not budget in my book, less expensive than KTM or Husky bikes but not budget(My GTX Moto is budget 😉) Hearing your racer bud talk about the suspension finally made it click for me. Gas-Gas is the KTM bike for the regular rider. KTMs and Husky are for the hardcore riders and racers, who expect to pay $5-10k more to squeak every ounce of performance out of their machines. Gas-Gas are meant for the average, non-racing rider who's going to throw a few protection parts on and go...So they are designed more "Ready to Ride" than "Ready to Race"(I just made that up... lol) That's why, in my opinion, they seem to work so well for everyone that rides one "out of the box"
@EverySingleSunday4 жыл бұрын
Well, at 600-800 less per model than KTM, they are very close on price with The Japanese bikes. That what they were going for It’s definitely not a cheap bike, but it’s on level with the others in the category
@oregonskate2 жыл бұрын
I just bought a 2022 gas gas ex 250f. The only difference between the KTM is the swing arm is from husqvarna, does not come with map switch or traction control button (both which are power limiters), and the gas gas does not come with hand guards out of the box. Oh, and the airbag is vented on the KTM, so drill a couple holes or buy the vented one. I bought it out the door for 8900. The KTM version around me is 11k out the door. The traction and map button to me is not worth it, although it is an extra 200 dollar plug and play. If anything the gas gas in this case is more race ready as they do not bother with the ability to switch to a more mild power map. Saved 2 grand on it too for at this point color of the bike and some hand guards

Hey Travis, loving all the awesome footage...especially all of the SoCal single track locations you’ve done. Random questions that you may have answered before. What GoPro chin mount are you using? My wr250f is a great bike but I feel like in the open stuff I need a little more power. Would you recommend the 450 or the 350? I like 450s and 500s myself cause the 250/350 require so many RPM to get going. I’ve actually swapped to a KTM 500 because of the low need power and it’s far better than even this on the trail.
