I had a chance to compare a 2020 E class (without magic body control) and the G80, and i have to say, the genesis trumps over the G80 over less maintained roads. Whereas the E class is supreme in highway conditions. I live in South Korea and most roads are really well maintained in the capital, but there are some regional cities that seemingly have a budget of $2.70 per year, and in those cities, the G80 seems to be the most popular luxury car brand overall. The E class is too Harsh over potholes and the like, Whereas the G80 glides over them more smoothly. On the highway, the G80 is too wallows a bit too much and there is comparatively more wind and road noise when you go over 70mph. Overall both are great cars and i am looking forward to see how the new 2024 E class compares against the aging 5 series and A6 along with the Lexus ES and this G80.
@unkownguy9629 ай бұрын
you are right about the wind noise above 120km but its acceptable. i have the g80 2023..but road noise or bumps + pattholes its smooth..perfect isolation which is very important to me! Looking at the progress the Koreans have made in less than 10 years is unbelievable! The Genesis in less than 10 years has become a luxury car contender while Chrysler is “still Chrysler”. @@CarCoachReports You can increase the boost and, I can get another 15 hp from a larger exhaust, and a another 15 hp from high flow converters. Then 15 HP from a ram air effect system with spacer between the intake and the throttle body as well as a high flow air I take. Then, I can add a machined, homemade Intake or another 30 HP. I could also replace the camshafts and add another 50 HP WITH all blueprinted and balanced! Without a turbo replacement.

@@CarCoachReports I prefer the smoothness of the V8. And can gain more Kw from the 8. But I would enjoy this car. It's beautiful, elegant with style and grace. And, it's performance is so so, but sporting enough for spirited runs. I don't see any advantage in the usage of Sonata controls.

Having reviewed the new Acura TLX and this Genesis G80, which car do you think is more impressive and which one do you think is more bang for the bucks? I would appreciate your input on this comparison.
@CarCoachReports3 жыл бұрын
Both vehicles offer a lots of positives. Honestly, I’d but the Genesis. It really impressed me and there was so much value for the money. The Acura is great, but the G80 wins easily.

Genesis has done it AGAIN!! I see them running into the same issue that Bruce Lee and Michael Jackson had to deal with, and that was to be BETTER than themselves which was next to impossible! The G80 will be a HUGE hit in spite of the SUV zombie state that most folks are in. I do see many features in this car that was borrowed from the great Kia K900 ( look up the K900 and you will see what I mean) NOT a fan of the stop/ start feature but a BIG fan of the "Auto Brake Hold" which to me has become a deal breaker! This car has everything I want in a car and will definitely be added to my list. Although, it will be a tough choice as the K900 is just that good! .....Too many choices!! One thing is certain. Lauren Fix is a FOX! And a very hot one at that! Love the G80 and your review of it as well. Thank you, Princess Lauren!

The Germans build hi tech quality without reliability. A 3 year old Genesis is going to be a much better car to own than a 3 year old Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Cadillac, or Lincoln.

@@christophresmerowski1824 And what are the facts that back up your statement about South Korean car's. If you took time to check you would see that they are at the top of reviews. The single most interesting feature on the new G80 and GV80 is the AR Navigation. Seen them on the Korean model. But NONE of the US journalists show any of it. Is there an agreement with Genesis or something? How could everyone miss this key feature? Saw you went into the map feature briefly on this review, but still didn't see any AR Navigation on the US road...

No agreement, this was not their biggest feature during our presentation. AR Navigation is very cool, but there are so many impressive safety, technology and features to cover.
