Love the AT4, but hate the ugly Kalahari strip in the seats so I ended up going with the Denali. To me, the 3.0 is the best engine option as it has the torque of the 6.2 yet gets better mileage than the 5.3. I went with the 3.0 and absolutely love it. No regrets at all and as you can tell by my username, I'm a V8Chevy fan!!!

Hey, a Denali is awesome too! And I agree, the torque of the 6.2 and the great gas mileage is hard to beat! Especially with gas prices being where they are right now. I’m also a Chevy V8 fan, and love the 6.2, but for a daily driver the 3.0 seems like the right motor option

I've put 42k on my AT4 in the last 15 months with only one issue with the radiator, so not engine related...which the dealer replaced in a few hours. It's hauled a 2k lb truck camper 5k miles out west in 100deg heat up and down mountains barely breaking a sweat. I live in NE Wisconsin so it also sees -25 in the winter and again...handles the cold and snow without issue. Best truck/engine I've ever owned and I've owned 3 5.3's and put a LOT of miles on them over decades and 100's of thousands of miles worth of driving. Oh and don't sweat the much ballyhooed belt service...it's been WAAAAAY overblown according to a friend of mine who's a 27 year GM Master Tech. He said there are several timing belt services which take more time and effort...so relax!lol!

Yeah it seems like a great motor. It definitely has great power. Do you like the Duramax better than your 5.3’s?

@@703Speed Yes. So far at least. Really love the MPG compared to the 5.3! I've hauled the same trailer/load with both. Got 10/11 mpg with the 5.3, 17/18 with the 3.0!

@@TakeDeadAim wow. Very impressive. I’m sure the 3.0 doesn’t break a sweat towing

@@703Speed No not really. Even up at altitude climbing up and down high mountain passes I never saw above 220 on the engine and maybe 215 on the tranny. I was actually surprised how cool it ran considering how hot it was outside. The only thing I can't speak to is longevity. The 5.3's were pretty much bulletproof in my case. Change the plugs every 100k and keep the oil changed every 5-7k and they ran without any major issues. Time will tell with the 3.0 but like I've said, I've already put 42k on it since I bought it in Sept of 2020.

@@TakeDeadAim I hope the little Duramax will last a long time as it is a great alternative to the gas variants. I hope you get multiple hundreds of thousands of miles out of her!

Is there any reason why most of the people making videos on light duty trucks refer to them as "cars"? Are they trucks or cars? Aside from that, this is a decently good review on a beautiful AT4...Thanks for sharing....
@703Speed2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think there’s a reason, lol. Sometimes we just slip up bc we film a lot of different vehicles whether they’re cars or trucks. This is definitely a truck, however. Thank u for the comment!
