@@KevinJDildonik Gretsch is made in Japan, it's there affordable range Streamliner series is made in China, but Japan oversees the production there. the reason for the quality is because they give them the parts they want in it, but by making it in China they can keep the price down. Streamliner series has gotten more pricey in recent years, but they'd be even more pricey if they were made in Japan which is where the rest of Gretsch is made. from the up level Electromatic range to the Players Edition, there made in Japan.

I bought the Streamliner G2622-P90 and it is a great guitar. The fretboard is perfect, the look is amazing, the sound is amazing and it's become one of my favorites to play. I pulled off the scratch plate and upgraded to locking tuners but you don't need to. You get WAY more guitar here than the price suggests.

You just wouldnt know by looks or sounds that these are part of the streamliner series. Its nice that gretsch try to make the best looking guitars for their price unlike many other companies who hold back so people pay more for a higher priced model.

One thing I like about Gretsch is that there's no "Squier". A Gretsch is a Gretsch. They don't make you accept a different headstock, or a different name on that headstock at the cheaper levels. All Gretsch's are Gretschs, and it's damn refreshing.

From Leo: I have two Streamliners and they are a joy to play. The "staple pole" P-90 sounds wonderful. People talk trash against the Humbuckers on the G2420, but Pete has no trouble getting great tones from them, I never found them lacking. Gretsch was a guitar with their own flavor that all but died, and they have come back better than ever. I think a G2622 with P-90's needs to be at my house soon.

I think the BT on that last guitar stands fro Broad'Trons, because that's what those pickups are. To me, it's an act of cruelty to a semi-acoustic not to put binding on the f-holes. Then again, I know they've done it on cost, and you can pay a lot more for a Gibson 335 and you won't get bound f-holes on that either!

The hollowbody that you played last is actually a G2410, not a G2420. The only difference between the two as far as I can tell is the 2410 is 1/2" thinner than the 2420 and has gold hardware instead of chrome. Yet for some strange reason the list price is 100.00 more. I dont see how a thinner body and gold hardware justifies the price difference.

@elsienova42693 жыл бұрын
@@denismguitar1552 okay let me just educate you. First of all, Gretsch Elegtromatic and Streamliner models are built in Korea in small factories similar to american guitar building companies. Not dirt poor 1920s style factories that you imagine. Second of all that labour actually doesn't exist in much of the guitar making market. Squier is made in Indonesia in high quality factories, Epiphone is made in both Indonesia and china and the ones in china are part of a guitar building company with a lot of prestige in the country, etc. Oh and, your "amazing" american factories aren't that amazing. One of the reasons Gibson restructured in 2014 was because of claims that builders were underpayed, stressed by managers and treated poorly, claims which were also proclaimed by ex Fender workers. TL DR: The stereotype that stuff made in Asia is made by starving orphans is a racist myth and factories and American guitar building companies aren't exempt from having serious issues with these stuff.
