I don't like those horrible spot welds on the frame legs. You'd think for £1500 they'd fully weld it. I also hasn't realised that X on the back was brittle plastic, I thought it was aluminium or carbon. Frank and honest review Ben, well done.

for the price range, it should have what all seat boxes have and that's all extending legs, plus the small details like screw end threads on legs and when that footplate gets scratched,i reckon will really age the appearance of the box.

Shouldn’t the non telescopic legs be at the back and the 4 telescopic ones on the footplate? You are always fishing Down the slope.

Great review Ben Trust me as a mold maker,/ tool maker, getting a nice smooth glossy finish on the plastic at the back would send the price even higher than it already is.

This or a matrix xr36 pro plus a complete luggage set and fill the box with terminal gear and still have some change for a Mcd's ? 😁

Shocking that back plate and only 4 telescopic legs and 1 winder tray is poor too. Nice looking bit of kit though! Good work Ben...your reviews are better than the brand's consultants!

Good review Ben. Have to say although the box is obviously well made, like all Rive boxes its overpriced IMO. I dread to think what it weighs as well !

No box is worth £1500 the world's gone mad some people don't pay that for a car but theres tackle tarts who will be queing up for it.me personally I don't like it it looks to big the sliding cassette coming out the side why? It's awkward to say the least when you think about it you don't really see your box when you fish other people can but your sitting on it so do we buy boxes for other people to see. Just a thought .

Enjoyed the review, looks a lovely box but can't beleive for the price the front legs are not telescopic. Also I'm not sure on the removable method of the bottom cassette, looks a little awkward.

Hi Ben, Well presented. I think the Absolute white edition is much better box as a construction, access and value for money. You can have almost 3 absolute boxes.

£1500 and only 4 telescopic legs and all 6 are too short to the box, it’s a stunning product but way too many shortcomings on such a premium priced piece of kit, I’ll agree it’s a thing of beauty but not for me. Thanks for the bid though mate.

@@Angling4U thanks for the reply. I to thought the legs looked a little short hence the question. I think it's time the h frame Seat box made a big comeback. I'm currently at the point where there's to much going on with the octbox and not enough with the xr36 comp.

Interesting video. Price is much to high for the box as she stands. Cant think why they made the front legs Non telescopic. How the hell can you level it if you are fishing on a down sloping bank. No issue with the quality of the actual box. I have got my new Matrix X36 PRO Lime last week and have to say that the quality of that box is as good as this Rive Box. It is also more functional than the Rive. In short the Rive is a very good box with a few design and functional faults and priced way to high. Matrix and Absolute are the better all round systems.

Nice box, nothing special though and priced way too high! Cannot believe they haven’t got tele legs on the front 😱. I feel the Matrix and absolute are just as good as this. I think this will go the same way as the Preston Carbon box, they will sell about 100 then it will disappear from the market, or the price will drop dramatically

Good honest review. (1) Positive The seat and the draws are great thats about it. (2) Negative They need to remove that ugly plastic thing off that back. (3) Negative They also need to have ALL the legs telescopic . (4) Negative Price is way to high. Who are they targeting with the seat box at that price range? Designer seat box for the Designer angler. Don't make sense to me. I personally still think the MAP seat boxes are the best for your money and weight and size is just right and a perfect price to match. Simple.
