Enjoyed the review. Had mine delivered last week. Very impressed with it. Regarding the rear suspension (for anyone thinking about getting one) there is a C spanner in the toolkit to easily adjust the rear spring preload, it has ten settings and is delivered on number two, also rear rebound adjustment (which actually works and is super easy to do), so it’s a 2 min job to dial out any ‘bounciness’. Suspension is taut yet plush IMO. Perfect for our crappy UK roads. Lovely.

@@Englishbikerdan lol... true. But in this instance, Honda seems to be acting like they know this so they didn't even try & yes, we can see most of the wheel but the point of having a single sided swingarm on a road going motorcycle is to make it look fancy, right? So why not go balls to the wall and use an unberbelly exhaust?
@Englishbikerdan
@Englishbikerdan 3 жыл бұрын
@@AmritGrewal31 Not sure but I'm willing to bet there was a reason why they didn't go underbelly. I'm a user and fan of naked bikes and do like the look of this bike. Why is it so many manufacturers have a complete fail on providing any decent rear wheel spray protection for bike and rider? I think this is one of the nicest looking roadsters on the market, shame about the black which is the most difficult colour to keep clean & shows up any marks but hides all the beautiful design detail. I tried one when they first came out but was a little underwhelmed by the performance but I do have the 1290 Superduke & currently have the V3 1290 which I absolutely love. Agree about the blipper/quickshifter....really like a hot knife through butter. Could still fancy one if I ever changed from my 5th 1290 though.

If you were underwhelmed by the performance - then you have probably been on a few tracks, and have the balls to ride "properly" (or improperly lol). I have a Rocket 3 which scares me unless I am in a straight line. This one scared me for the confidence that I felt (which made me ride it too fast). My definition of "too fast" would encourage micky-taking lol 😆. I'm getting one though... A Superduke would be wasted on me (most people too)...

What is with wanting so badly to alter the exhaust to make more or "better" noise. I like the exhaust sound on this video. I have 2015 CBR1000rr and I am one of seeming minority that likes the factory exhaust. Is it not illegal in England to modify the exhaust on these road legal bikes? Maybe that was a EU thing?

Some people like to have a bit more noise from their bikes. The good thing is, you can choose for yourself what you want. Not all aftermarket exhausts are illegal, only those that are marked as race use only or not for road use. Or one's that are not Euro type approved for the bike you are riding.

I've got the 2020 model and actually bought it with your previous review in mind. Recently test drove the 2021 Black Edition and found that the same issues are still apparent. Snatchy throttle response in Sport (no roll on at all), 4.5k to 7.5k RPM the bike has a massive flat spot (bad fuelling because of Euro emissions?) and stock suspension on the rear is terrible. The new tyres on the 2021 model are excellent Michelin Power 5's I think? I swapped my Bridgestone S22's for them after test riding the 2021! I imagine if you had a full exhaust system fitted with a proper remap, this bike would be unreal. I've heard a remap with full system can achieve a 20whp gain between 4.5k to 7.5k RPM (10whp throughout the range), which is literally a night and day difference. Maybe change the rear spring for a Nitron R2 as well and you're suddenly competing with the 'hyper-naked' bikes. That Fireblade engine has so much to offer that it's a shame Honda didn't go big with it the first time around. It may sound like I'm bashing the Honda, I'm not. I love my CB1000R and there's no chance I'll be swapping it any time soon. The build quality is second to none and it's without a doubt the best looking naked out there.

Yeah Power 5's on this. It's a fantastic bike which with a few tweaks could actually begin to rival the bigger boys.

Sorry Mike. Got to challenge this, I have a 2022 Black (UK) and it goes like stink, no flat spot or anything remotely like you suggest. Pick up is superb and yes it’s very direct in Sport mode but not at all snatchy. Fueling is really excellent in fact the best I have ridden for a long time.

@@jfro5867 since this post I've had a full SC Project titanium system put on and had a full remap by Jordan Bikes in Leeds. The technician in there also agreed with the flat spots I highlighted in this post above and the throttle being snatchy when rolling from off to on and back again due to fuelling issues. I can wholeheartedly stand by my post above as I've now got the bike I was looking for from factory. No snatchy throttle (due to throttle staying open when throttle is completely off now), no flat spot between 4.5-7.5k RPM either. I've road the Euro 4 and Euro 5 versions of the CB1000R and they ride exactly the same. If you live by Manchester or in the NW by all means meet up with me and I'll let you test ride mine and you'll notice the difference is night and day. More than happy for you to experience the difference, it'll end up you going back on yours immediately noticing the points I raised above! 😀

@@mikemorris1465 ok Mike well all I can say is I don’t feel/notice it. The Euro 5 bikes can’t be tuned can they? Is yours the Euro 4? As long as you are now happy then that’s all that matters really.

@@jfro5867 Hey 👋 all bikes can be tuned and it's currently still completely legal to de-cat a motorbike in the UK which is what I had done with the full titanium system. You can take a standard bike to a tuners like the one in Leeds and they'll remove certain limitations from factory on the bike, remap the fuelling (which is aimed at being emissions friendly from factory) and change loads of parameters for it to ride and feel better. Think that'll come in around £150 if you're going in with a standard bike. I ended up paying £450ish for half a day on the dyno for them to remap across the whole rev range. Worth it regardless of your setup 👌

I always thread my security chain through the frame. Is that better than through wheel do you think? Lovely looking bike but £13k a lot for a naked when you can pick up a 2021 Z900 for about £9k.

I would rather a normal shifter and clutch. I don’t like how everything is done for you anymore. All these electronics are just driving the price up and you definitely don not need them

Always thought the big CBs were cool. Not a Honda guy (Good bikes no doubt, but I think they make the most appliance bland MCs out of all big manufacturers), but that CB defintely has my interest! 👍👍 Other then Id like to see more gloss black panels and fender vs the matte black stuff for the "black edition", I will say thats a good job Honda on this one!

Great video, nice details. That single sided swingarm and wheel look awesome. Have one on pre-order ETA of July. Really looking forward to the day I can go pick it up. Had to call multiple dealers to find any incoming in my area (within 100 mi) so feel fortunate I was able to put a deposit on one. Only thing I'll be changing is full-akra system and bar-end mirrors.

Cool looking bike! Heh about swingarm number plate holders, people will complain no matter where it's located. Many of them have the luxury of living in places with great weather, so they can put a tail-tidy on their bikes without much trade-offs. Or are just fair-weather riders (which is fine, riding in the rain etc. can _suck_ ). But for people who ride in bad weather, whether their bike is their only means of transport or just for the thrill of it, it's as close you can get to a compromise on a good-looking rear-end and a functional splashguard, at least with motorcycle regulations being a pain in the ass to design around.

I concluded from reviews that the CB650R is well adequate for losing your licence or killing yourself on the UK roads. The CB650R is physically much narrower and shorter and therefore much more maneuverable for filtering in traffic than this CB1000R and of course much cheaper and in my opinion better looking.

and by far less powerful and cheap ☝️😎 + u dont filter in traffic, u stay in ur position just like everybody else. Cant wait for them to charge this pretty heavily for all those mirror kissers I see daily

quite alote of people selling this bike after owning it for 2000-10000KM. its strange to me. all say to mutch power/to heavy? i had a test ride of the CB650R wich is FUN. but i stil need to test the MT09 and CB1000R. love the looks of the CB1000R but the sound of the triplle gives me goose bumps. now why would people sel this bike after owning it for a few years it makes me search for imperfections or errors. not quite sure what i'm missing here. could u have any idea why people sell this again after a few years or Km"s. caus the price is a bargain. except the mt 09 has a little more tech maybe?
