Plus it's a "world model". All first world countries have them if I'm not mistaken. Can't say that to pick-up-turned-SUVs. Not really a price to practicality ratio winner though but it is definitely more premium.

However, I guess the whole point of Honda making a 7 seater version of the CR-V is too give you an option if you want a car that has better tech and safety equipment without sacrificing the extra two seats. It's there when you need or don't need it. The same cannot be said with the Innova though.

Overtaking isn't really a matter of hp but rather torque. This has 300nm of torque that peaks at low rpms, which is high enough to give you the pull needed for a quick overtake.

It's nice and all, but if you want a vehicle that runs on a Diesel engine, has 200+mm ground clearance, rides comfortably, and is a real 7-seater (not a 5+2), why not opt for the Nissan Terra instead? It's only Php+50k more expensive if you want the 4WD (and cheaper for 2WD), but the difference is probably worth it if you have regular-sized passengers in the 3rd row that you want to remain friends with after an hour or two driving.

9:20 known quirk of how the ZF 9HP transmission was made. Because of the dog clutch inside the transmission it acts like it goes to neutral when changing from 4th to 5th, 7th to 8th, vice versa. If you ask me, it's just tech going overboard 😕

Hi, I am undecided Fortuner V vs CRV S-diesel. My requirement is driving comfort, reliability (long lasting, less repairs when it aged), cost of maintenance, safety and looks (porma). I hold back on getting the Fortuner because of CRV. I am not interested on other ppvs like Montero, Everest, Terra & Mux because of looks, hence I am only comparing fortuner vs crv. Hi! We have both cars and I would like to share my insights… I got my CRV last week and all I can say is WOW! It’s a lot smoother compared with the Fortuner. The engine is very smooth and very frugal. Engine power is very adequate because the body is way lighter compared with the Toyota Fortuner. Also and surprisingly, I find it more spacious compared with the Fortuner. I suggest you go for a test drive to see the difference. Iba talaga ang Monocoque body frame kaysa sa Ladder type chasis. As to maintenance, Fortuner is cheap to maintain and it’s really reliable. I can’t say the same for the CRV yet since I just got it last week. As to reliability, I think both brands are tried and tested naman. To be honest, boring ang Fortuner for my taste. I just love the height of the vehicle. To summarize my points: Go for the CRV if you are looking for a car ride like, high tech features, and luxurious interior. Go for the fortuner if your daily routes require tall vehicles, better third row seating, and ruggedness.

The feel of it and I may make a mistake moving from N to R instead of N to D, I have to think it over. The entry level have a conventional shifter but it's not an option for me because I prefer a 7 seater.

That missing gear lever still gets me. What sort of feedback do you get to indicate that you've changed gear? A small led light, other than the dash display? They should put a surrounding led light on the selected gear to make it very visible since there's no tactile feedback, unlike usual AT cars. It's a great car, no doubt. But at that price, and the meager amount of space for luggage and third row seating, it may not be a compelling choice for some, in my opinion. Plus you guys opening the video with a Toyota might sway other people in that direction? 😅

If you can buy this top of the line CR-V, then get this one. It's an "almost" complete package for me. Though the 6th Gen of this car might come sooner. And second option if you're looking for a much affordable car with so much space, might consider the okavango.
