So glad I got the 2020 and didn’t wait for the 2021. Looks cheaply made and I’m not impressed with the extra hp or the extra gear.

Im still debating whether to grab a 2020 quick or wait for the 2021 for my first grom. 5th gear seems cool but the body style is not doing it for me

New air-cooled engine MSX125 Grom has got a new air-cooled engine with two valves. The 125 cubic meter now has a peak power of 7.2 kW, which is equivalent to 9.7 horsepower. The peak power comes at 7,250 rpm, while the maximum torque of 10.5 Nm occurs at 5,500 rpm. New owners will also greatly appreciate that Grom has now received five gears. It provides more room to spread the gear further, as well as providing a more relaxed cruising at higher speeds. The top speed has increased from 92 km / h to 94 km / h.

Just bought a new 2020 Grom. 3900 otd. First bike. I fell in love in 2017 when I seen one on KZbin. Bike looked soo cool. It only took me 3 years but finally have one! Thanks for the videos man.

My wife gave me the green light to get a Grom. I want the mechanical improvements of the 2021 but I hate the freaking headlight. That said, I'll probably get the new 2021 and look for something after market. Love to be able to purchase the 2020 headlight and retrofit that on the 2021.

I like the new 2021 Grom just fine. However nothing could take the place of my 2015 og red Grom. If you are trying to get to your top speed as quick as possible, having 4 gears is maybe an advantage? If you wanna cruise around town the 5 speed could be better? What about stunting? Maybe 2nd gear wheelies will be easier to get up! haha

Having 5 gears means you can have the bike in the right rev range more of the time, so it will be faster than the 4-speed in most situations.

Im buying one in May. Got it reserved. Im gonna fuck around with it. My wife can get her motorcycle license and teach my step kids how to ride. I own a Harley, a yamaha r3 and soon to be a 2022 grom.

the motor is like a zs190 but a honda vers.125 the datona amina motor 190 and 212 have been out for years Honda made the new grom motor like those but stronger i hope.

So happy to see this development of design to the future ❤️ imo it's awesome, I already thought making my GROM "metal"/gray + neon accents as "theme" 😎✌️ Also the new headlight seems to be a dream of sight at night ^^ maybe it can be swapped on an OG? Besides Colors the motard is my fav! Loved it at first sight, for me its an evolution of the lovely OG so the SF might become rare some time 😜 Gromspiracy growing in Europe 😏 Stay safe bro✌️

I moved away from the Honda Grom scene and moved on to the Benelli TNT 135 scene building modified Benelli’s, still have both of my Takegawa 181-4v 2014 Groms with all the go fast parts but I wanted a new project with other mini-bikes, Ride safe Grom crew

Motard is cool, rest i dont really like. The previous gen gromz look better. Costumization feature might turn out some cool looks for it though. Although according to news, it has slightly less power and torque than previous ones. Although it does have 5 gears with closer ratios. Dunno. Not entirely impressed. Honda should try to steal the design dept from Yamaha, those guys r killing it.

I like the 2021 scrambler. I had the first batch 2014 Grom purchase in 5/2013, mother nature happen, no longer have that bike. A dealer in my area has leftover model CBR300R for $188 more than the MSRP of a Grom. Question for Eric or any subscriber - Which bike would you purchase 2021 Grom or 2019 CBR300R ?

I just don’t see the point in a bike like the cbr300 for anyone other than new riders that want a bigger bike to commute. Grom is a community that makes the bike enjoyable. Nothing like that in any other community even big bikes. The ability to not have a big bike blast by you at 120 with a 16 year old with no experience or skill, worst case scenario you get a squid dancing on his grom or putting his feet up. Still things happen a lot slower on a grom than a big bike. So back to the 300 vs grom. I go with grom hands down for the community. If you’re thinking about getting a 300 ask yourself why. Maybe a 600 or 390 duke would be a better option

@@Photogromer Thanks for your help, I will be getting a Grom again. I don’t think I’ll be too happy getting the 300 since coming from a CB1000R, no longer have this bike. I do most of my ride in the city, it was always easy to find parking and had a little more fun vs the 1000.

having a very hard time deciding between a 2020 or 2021 I plan on trying to make a mini track/race bike not sure if the 5 speed would help or hurt on a race track or tight back roads. I feal more shifting, shorter gears could be a problem for "serious racing". Anyone with knowledge care to inform me or help me understand what would be better for a "race bike" 2020 or 2021 with the new 5 gear box?

It’s hard to say at this point until people start getting their hands on a 2021 and experience it trackside. Also different tracks might yield different results. In the end of the day you should have more time in the power band with the extra gear. However, the SF and OG groms have ample aftermarket parts tested and trued already for the track. DHM Motors sells a ecu flash and cam that’s specific for the track without doing much modifications like a big bore kit and the supporting parts required for it to not blow up. I’d lean towards buying a used SF cheap if you plan on mostly tracking.
