Special thanks to my patrons for their support of the channel! Would you have a Palisade over a Telluride?

Palisade Calligraphy if one has budget otherwise any trim of palisade. It is more comfy than telluride I have checked both. Has more plush feel inside.

To understand the role of the "Calligraphy" trim of the Palisade it's important to recognize the different markets the Palisade to which its closely related sibling, the Telluride, are aimed. The Telluride is built in the US and aimed squarely at the North American market where its major rivals are so-called "mainstream" 3 row unibody SUVs. The Telluride isn't even sold in Korea or the rest of Asia and Europe. The Palisade, on the other hand, is built in Korea and aimed to a great extent at Asian and European markets where it competes with SUVs from European luxury brands. The Japanese and American "mainstream" brands of 3 row SUVs are either completely absent from those markets or struggle to achieve even minuscule sales. With these factors in mind it's obvious why the Telluride from the beginning has projected a somewhat more "rugged" image while the Palisade has aimed to be a "premium" or even a "budget luxury" choice. The Calligraphy trim doubles down on that strategy, especially in markets outside North America. It's not that the US market is unimportant for the Palisade. But compared to the Telluride it's a significantly less important driver of design and trims.

They are both phenomenal suvs, however Palaside has some common issues like wind and road noise compared to Telluride. Most of the journalist testing the Palaside complaint about the excessive wind and road noise. Lot’s of people on Hyundai forums regret purchasing their vehicles. I hope Hyundai can fix that issue. For example CarandDriver did a sound test for both suvs, and Telluride only had 63 decibels of road noise at 70 mph highway speeds compared to 69 decibels of Palaside. Palisade does look good on the inside but i can not imagine paying that much money and dealing with road and wind noise. That is why i am going to wait for an updated Telluride in the US market.
@stephenhendricks1033 жыл бұрын
@@al151 Interesting comment. I'm partial to the Telluride, as well. In part because I find most of Hyundai's vehicles have a somewhat more "fussy" design than their KIA counterparts. In fact, as I've said in other posts, most Hyundai vehicles appear to me to have been through a completed design process before they're submitted to a final review committee that's charged with adding creases and bulges here and there. I have no idea if that contributes to additional road and wind noise in the Palisade but it's a reasonable hypothesis.
@JenksHero3 жыл бұрын
@@al151 a lot of road/wind noise was found to be improperly installed luggage racks. The racks have to be in the correct places (be it front or rear position) or else it causes a lot of excessive wind noise.

@stephenhendricks1033 жыл бұрын
@@dwnshft Your wife isn't alone. In fact, despite conventional wisdom that vans are pitched toward females, especially soccer moms, the dominance of SUVs comes about in large part because women vastly prefer them for the elevated seating position and image of safety through "strength." All that plus the fact that these days the term "soccer mom" has a definitely negative connotation among many women including my wife.

Beautiful interior. On the video the grill is ugly. In person the grill is UGLY.
@Chiroman5273 жыл бұрын
Not as Ugly as the Lexus Big Mouth Grill IMHO. I like this SUV. Seems to being more visible around my parts - Westchester County NY. I also have a Acura 2022 MDX with Advance Package in my sights (current 2019 Acura MDX Advance lease coming due in June 2022). But the Acura and others fully loaded (the only way I get my cars), is over $62K MSRP . This Pallisade, at $50K seems like a Bargain. Who cares about "luxury" brand names....Not me. I like to Impress Myself and not Others , especially when it comes to a Value. Hyundai is taking all the Top Honors in the Industry: JD Power, etc... My only question is the HRAC system. I will look more into how it functions. I do like Technology.... Acura's SH-AWD is one of or the Best in that category. This review is persuasive

@@Chiroman527 "who cares abut luxury brand names", says the guy with an Acura in his driveway, ha, ha. Big gaudy grills seem to be a thing these days. I came to terms with the grill and bought the 2021 Callgraphy model. Still not a fan of the Calligraphy wheels but the interior, ride and tech is just so good. We got it in white, put a clear bra on the front and ceramic coating on the whole car. It definitely makes a statement of luxury. We test drove this against the Toyota Highlander and there was simply no comparison. While it’s a big car it doesn’t feel big or cumbersome when driving or parking. Very happy with our choice. Hyundai, Kia and Genesis are definitely setting the pace.
