2021 flew quickly but left a scar on me, i got health issues, got obese and kinda depressed when my university didn't even bother to call us until now. But this video told it's never the end for everything, it's a new beginning for me to get back everything I had, my hobbies, my health, my studies. To go beyond catastrope is what makes us a stronger version of ourselves, giving up was never an option but to find solutions for it is the the thing we should commit to, disasters will occur every year but to cope from it is what makes us amazing beings of earth.

Wow, I feel like I’ve become desensitized to so many things by the end of this year, and I’ve blocked so many things from my memory that I forgot a lot of this happened. Seeing the recap of the first half was so depressing, but then when the clips of the glimmers of hope and strength throughout the year started playing, I teared up. I can’t believe all of this happened in one year. It feels like so long ago and at the same time like all of this happened so quickly.

Nah, 2021 was worse. At least in 2020, the first 3 months were normal, and COVID/lockdowns were more of a novelty and were a bit more bearable. In 2021, it was just a tedious, depressing replay of 2020. Completely predictable. Especially if you live in Melbourne, like me, which takes the cake for being the city with the longest lockdown.

Usually every New Year’s Eve my godfather, godmother and their children sleepover at my house to watch the ball drop, last year we couldn’t do it because of Covid, so I was really looking forward to doing it to end 2021 but my sister tested positive on Christmas day so yeah, even if she has no symptoms all of our plans are canceled for five days while we quarantine. So I guess I’ll be spending another New Year’s Eve by myself, and I gotta be honest, it kind of just feels . . . Mentally draining to say the least. spending such a big thing with only two other people, sure you can call other people but it’s just not the same. Last new year’s I legitimately cried in my room, it just takes such a heavy toll on your brain that it just . . . Comes out . . . and I think the same thing goes for a lot of people. But let’s hope that 2022 will be the end of this god forsaken virus, for everyone’s sake. Happy holidays and Happy New Year everyone. Stay strong, be happy or something like that, I dunno. Just don’t cry like a wuss like me. Here’s to 2022. And hearing a glockenspiel playing the last few notes of Lang Syne while a crowd counts down at the end of the video hits hard too. It just makes a bittersweet smile form on your face. whenever I hear that song, especially right now on New Years Eve, it just makes me cry. Again, Happy New Year everyone, I wish the best for all of you.

These past two years just passed in a blink of an eye. Even though these two years may not have been the best experience, lets be glad that nothing worse have happened. Let's hope to have an amazing year ahead of us.

Wanda Vision is mentioned, but not Spiderman No way home, the trailer of which became most viewed in the first 24 hours, and the movie release broke pandemic box office records, becoming the first movie to make 1 billion dollars after 2019.

As long as politicians have a say, this pandemic will go on for a long time. Maybe not in the sense of lockdowns, but they'll be commenting on daily cases and vaccinations for years to come.

@@sararistictodorovic2100 Politicians don't have control over how the virus spread. It is the policy, healthcare professionals, infrastructure, and most importantly the citizens itself that determine whether we can beat it.

@@Justin87878 You've clearly misunderstood what I said. I was speaking from a political perspective, and you from a medical one. Which, no offence, is a bit naive. Let's not pretend that the biggest threat of this virus is not the politicisation of it, and as a result, the politicisation of the vaccine, and passes related to it. There are so many other viruses and diseases worthy of causing pandemics, just by sheer numbers; this one is nothing special, it's just the most novel/recent one. A pandemic is more of a political state in this era - as evidenced by recent pandemic laws passed in the Australian state of Victoria which allows the premier, Dan Andrews, to declare a pandemic whenever he so feels like it, regardless of medical opinion/advice. Yes, that happened in a 21st century "democracy". A pandemic can happen without any serious medical emergency, and can be prolonged by something other than the virus - vaccine inequality in 3rd world countries/vaccine politics is proof of that. There's a lot of geopolitics involved in which countries give which vaccines to other countries. Most world powers aren't donating vaccines from a place of altruism, but because it's a good trade deal - and they're not going to waste their time on a country that can't give anything back. There's also the fact that richer countries are buying more supplies and vaccines than poorer countries just because they simply can. If you've lived through 2020 and 2021 and honestly still believe that politicians have your best interests at heart, take a better look at the world around you and reassess it.

@@sararistictodorovic2100 I would say I can behind your statement about vaccine distribution that is unequal towards poor country, while rich countries hoard mjllions of vaccines that can be distributed through COVAX to African countries. As a result, we see mutations was born from those countries. You are right on that about vaccine inequality.
