Some Fun Facts, the Willys actually has a higher ground clearance then the Rubicon (10.7 vs10.8), comes standard with the anti spin rear, and can go toe to toe against a stock Rubicon on most trails. I have that exact setup (less the trailer towing package) and love it.

@@michaelryan3818 if your not planning to do much off-roading I’d suggest the willies. The tires do have more road noise then the Rubicon but that’s because if the more aggressive mud tread.

And the price does not include a market adjustment as Ben states at the end of his review. Right now the market adjustment can add between 5-10% as demand far exceeds supply. Our dealer had none on the lot and they are sold in hours once they show up. Fortunately we ordered one and the dealer did not raise the price above the sticker. Arrived in 5 weeks. But then again, I never thought I would pay sticker. Did allow us more for our trade and jeeps hold there value well past one would expect. We owned a Subaru outback for 12 years, test drove a 2022 with the wilderness package, and looked at each other and said, "do we want to drive another Subaru for 12 more years?" We opted for something different and loved the versatility and looks of the Willys. Agreed, a little pricey, but my nurse wife loves her Willys. Happy wife, Happy life, and that my friends is priceless.

@@mopar21 Actually, leasing is far cheaper than purchasing, plus the dealer I go to has the valet service where leases are worry-free, meaning I never have to pay for oil changes, minor replacements and tires.

Nice review...I had a 2020 JLU Willy’s and just traded it in for a 2021 JLU Rubicon. Both are excellent vehicles. As for the shocks, I believe the Willy’s and Rubicon have the same shocks, but the Willy’s has the Sport springs. That being said I do feel the Rubicon does have a slightly better ride quality but I think the Willy’s has a good ride quality too. I did numerous road trips with the Willy’s and never felt fatigued or uncomfortable so I’m very happy with that. Since my Rubicon is new, I only did one road trip so far and like the Willy’s, I found it to be very comfortable too.

Just got the exact jeep but in the ecodiesel and I love it. Best car I've ever owned. So comfortable and easy to drive for a Jeep and the mpg is insane for a wrangler.

@@redliz89 I average 27-28 each tank with my hilly 140 mile round trip commute and on a flat straight highway at 70 mph it gets 30-32 mpg. By far the best mpg I've gotten outta an suv and the most fun I've ever had in a jeep.

Good review. I love that Army green with the black. You are right about changing the shocks out for sure. Also different black (little) taller and bigger tires along with a couple of other Jeep accessories and hit the trails.

You do realize they are the same shocks and springs that come on the Rubicon! That said I have a 2021 Willys and I plan to upgrade my suspension and lift it but it is a very capable off road vehicle. The one thing I did change on mine was putting the Rubicon bumper on it because No I like the look and it's steel not plastic!

I chuckled at your humor about the 4 Wheel Drive being “really important” and “adding horsepower”. 😂 But since the Willys (pronounced Willis) is an appearance package, you should know that the decal is actually a nod to the 1940’s decal on the original Willys. And that’s right down to the font. So for this particular trim level - it really is pretty important. 👍☺️

It's not just an appearance package as it comes with the Rubicon suspension, brakes, mud terrain tires, and a limited spin differential standard which makes it more offroad ready compared to the the other trims other than the Rubicon itself. But yeas the appearance that the Willys package gets looks great and is a great nob to the original Willys.

It has Rubicon shocks and same rear axle as the Rubicon. Longer springs is all you need to get the exact Rubicon suspension.

I agree, the willys pkg has the rubicon rear end, suspension, and rock rails. It is a very good pkg suitable for either the road and trail with just the important stuff without having to go rubicon.

The Willys has the identical shocks of a Rubicon. It is a durable off-roader with its limited slip rear diff. Not sure why Ben recommended upgrading the shocks. Other than that, nice review.

I had the same dilemma but ended up getting a willys last month. Very competent off road: any trail rated 7/10 or less should be no issue from what I have done. I am very pleased, also the wrangler 4dr size is much smaller than the bronco. Better in tight places.

@@sandy5548 they also stopped making the ranger after a while, doesn't mean it was a bad truck, or worse than the tacoma, for example. Both reliable, even if the tacoma is known to be more so, which is why I have one! Also, jeeps bread and butter is the wrangler, so of course they would never discontinue it. Regardless, I'm just glad that Ford didnt do to the bronco what chevy did to the blazer.

Ben....Most "modern SUV's" as you put it they're on unibody builds not body on frame like a Jeep. Most Modern SUV's will not even go where the Jeep will travel with ease I might add. You also failed to mention many facts about the Jeep Wrangler. Multiple engines are offered as well as transfer cases. Suggestion: Do your research before making videos. You might make a better point, as far as power and acceleration goes you didn't mention the vehicle your in weighs close to 5000 lbs.

I agree I knew it was a narrow SUV but I have a 14, 12 and 1 year old and my kids complain about the room in the back. I made it clear that there are alot of people in this world that would be very greatfull for a vehicle like this! I don't want to here complaining when there are kids cramped in much smaller vehicles. We bought our Jeep for the beach and to be honest I wanted something that if sh!t ever hits the fan we can get out of dodge regardless if that's on the road or on the trail. Narrow comes in handy on trails in east Texas. The Jeep turns very sharp and fits in places most vehicle do not!

Just so you know, I've also had a Grand Cherokee and an old 2 door Cherokee XJ. They are the same way...cramped inside. But I've loved all my Jeeps. My dad got a Toyota 4 Runner and I thought it was cramped as well. If you wanna spread out, better look at a Tahoe or something. But be careful, most won't fit on some of those old Colorado mule trails. :-)

i disagree with it being good off roading . If its mainly on road im sure those shocks are great if you go offf road like ten times a year its perfect... But for me i would want all season tires with black out steel rims cause i would hardly go off road. i dont seee a need to have big tires for day to day driving., But in midwest JEEPPP all the way!!!

Haha, first upgrade I always did on my jeeps...well after lift, tires and wheels, is cold air intake, better exhaust and even headers on my old straight 6. That one would lay rubber for about 15 foot! lol But they're notorious for not much acceleration! Air in and air out upgrades make a HUGE difference.
