I had a JD 325 for 40 years and recently bought a zero turn machine. The zero turn is a nice machine with some definite plusses, but I think it was not a good choice for my personal situation. I live where we get a lot of rain and the soil can hold water. The rear wheels can spin where the grass is thin. When this happens, the machine starts to slide and you can't steer because the steering is with the back wheels. I am a senior lady and it's not easy getting on and off the machine. Good machine but choose according to your situation.

Thank you for your video. Im absolutely impressed with how john deere is treating me. Im waiting on this mower to be delivered as we speak. Dealer has a vin but just waiting on it to arrive. I would have preferred the the medium size deck. But they are being delivered with 60’s. I have to sell my two trailers to get a bigger. Only down side. Deere finance approved me by 7:30 am this morning. They are only going to have 1.9% interest on a 48 month loan. Unbelievable! I mow about 3-4 acres between 3 yards. Elderly neighbors that i do for free. The dealer in tn already ordered me a weedeater rack by just talking to me over the phone. No papers signed yet. They won’t do paperwork until its in inventory. Hopefully it comes in soon cause I am ready! Thank you John Deere. Will. Be a customer for life because of this experience. Everything will be a Deere.

@@WesternEquipment it was delivered last thursday. Love it. 48, 1.9% was the dealers rate. What the dealer got it for. He made an honest mistake. Showed me the page with the rates. I thought it was way to good to be true. That said im good with the 60 month. I’ll have it paid off in two. The mower. Straight off the truck. Setup then delivered next day. 1 foot grass, chewed through it with a very clean cut. It had not been mowed for a week or two. Lots of rain. Left arm gives a little more power than right. Adjusting today or trying to. Again thank you for your content. 1.8 hours to mow all three yards. Love it! Going to have to sell two smaller trailers and get a bigger one cause of the deck size. Not in a rush since Deere picks up and brings back the mower. Could absolutely not be happier with it. EFI, Push throttles amazing. Covered storage box for my phone. The fact it came with that socket/wrench for certain adjustments. Raised the bars and set them up better for me in the middle of mowing. Not having to go back to the house to do it. It’s absolutely the small things.

I’ve got my Z540m, for the last two years, & am very impressed with it, but I went from 2 1/2 acres mowing, to city lot mowing. I got mine with the standard 48” deck to fit it through more places. I usually mow @ 3/4 motor speed, and it does excellently. With my Kavli blades, I haven’t run into any grass/weeds I couldn’t handle with ease. I’ve processed 6’ tall red stocked weeds with no trouble in my standard deck. I have never choked my deck up, & had to get off & push it backwards, to restart the mower, like I did with the standard blades. I’m also mowing full deck width, not partial width. My warranty & Dealership are fantastic. I don’t see a new mower in my future, but I would have bought the Z545R, because it has everything I would have liked, but not necessarily needed.

The owner's manuel says to write down the serial numbers on the Transaxel, but they're hidden under the reservoirs. Had salesman call J. D. They said those numbers are attached to my warranty. Just an FYI if anybody needs it. This machine is awesome. Read reviews on others where people said there mower would spin out on wet grass. This JD doesn't care, it just keeps going!

I mowed for the first time with mine yesterday. Put 2.9 hours on it mowing my 5 acre yard, not bad, in my opinion, considering I was being conservative with my cut speed and taking more time around obstacles while getting comfortable with the mower. I did avoid a couple wet spots in the yard, so I probably mowed closer to 4.5 acres. The mower done great! I did notice the dealers technician that assembled my mower didn't do a flawless job. Luckily, I was able to adjust the deck height with the level gauge and put a cotter pin in one of the deck pins that held the deck in place. I had to mow about two acres of six or so inch tall grass that I didn't mow the last couple of months last year. The fuel light came on around the 2.7-hour mark. Hopefully, that improves with break-in and less workload. The fuel injection is nice, turn the key, and nothing else has to be done, it just starts right up! The comfort glide seat makes mowing the rougher areas a breeze! I was amazed at how comfortable the mower is to operate. The only thing I could ask for is the parking brake feature the 3 & 7 series have. I'm used to the current one from my old 3 series but it would be nice to have.

John Deere websitet says the 530r has TZT7m transaxles but my manual says it has TZT7u on the 530r only showing the 545r with the tzt7m transaxle. Which one is right because I'm about to bring this thing back. The sales people don't know nothing like you. You love your job and mowers. Thanks for you help.
@WesternEquipment3 жыл бұрын
Everything I am showing is that they both have the TZT7M, but I also looked in the owners manual and I would assume this is just a typo in the operator manual since it is supposed to encompass the entire Z5 lineup. All of my sales manual material show that both R models have the TZT7M so I'm pretty sure that is correct.

Well thank you for watching and congrats on the new mower! If you are able to stay on top of your mowing and not let the grass get too tall then the side discharge should be fine for you but the mulching systems are great too. Mulching is always better for your lawn health so i suggest people to mow more often and mulch but I know time is often an issue. Ms. Fleice, I am paralyzed from the waist down and use a wheelchair. I've been considering buying a JD zero turn for a couple of years to replace my 2002 tractor-style GT235. As soon as the 2021s came out and I saw the new deck height system, I called my local dealer and asked them to find me a 2020 Z540R, which they did. The 2020s and before have a deck height system you can operate entirely by hand, without having to use either foot. While the 2021 deck height system might be an improvement, for someone like me who can't use their feet, it's useless. Plus to each their own, but I prefer the Z540R's Kawasaki to the Z545R's Briggs. From my research the exmark radius is in the same price range, possibly cheaper and the deck is heavy duty deep welded deck and is supported by chains not those little bars that need adjustment. I currently run a john deere but the deck on this mower looks way too light duty for 5,000$.
@WesternEquipment3 жыл бұрын
This deck is actually a solid sheet of stamped 9 gauge steel where the Exmark is a cut and welded deck made of 10 gauge. This is actually a heavier deck that the Exmark. It also has anti scalping wheels that have framing on both sides instead of just one side like the Exmark that give them more strength and less likely hood to have them broken off. The cut and welded decks are always made out to seem like the better choice but things to consider are with welded decks the paint eventually rubs off and you have the higher possibility of rust-out. Also, when you have welded decks you have corners where you can have build up and the corners creates drag cause less airflow under the deck meaning material won't be moved and processed as fast. And as far as the hangers for the deck they are actually the heavy duty clack pieces that you will see from the 22:00-23:20 mark. The silver bars you see are just the lifting arms. Both are great mowers but I just wanted to point out those few things. Thanks for watching!

Do you know how I can fix it?? I just noticed there's a little L shaped metal piece that must have came off of something. I don't have social media so I'm just going to KZbin to hopefully get help

@Ramman19953 жыл бұрын
I have been digging around and it looks like it’s not a vanguard it’s a B&S commercial motor, specifically the 44X9. From what I’m reading they are solid, have a few parts off the vanguards and work good as long as you reset the valves every 300 hours

Hi. I ordered this model from my local dealer. Are there any improvements on the 2022 from this one? I hope I'm making the right choice with the briggs EFI engine. I keep seeing people bash it and dealers telling me to buy the kawasaki. I have a few acres to mow and my current cub cadet riding mower only has 167 hours on it and the hydrostatic went out. So I'm kinda worried about that on this new one hoping I'd be able to service these but it doesn't look like thay can be. I was going to jump up to the z7 but this one is already costing more than msrp due to a shortage. I build muscle cars and know the ins and outs of quality parts but when it comes to mowers I'm out of the loop. Still fuming over the cub cadet at 167 hours going bad of course out of warranty. How many hours do you think this one will last. I do keep my stuff pristine and maintained. I know you dont have a magic 8 ball but whats the estimated life. The salesman has been trying to talk me out of this one and into a z7. Thanks for your time.

There currently are not any upgrades that I know of but I also have heard no complaints on this mower since it has been available. I am keeping my ears open on this model specifically as I am curious to see how it performs over time as well. Good question and thanks for watching!

@@WesternEquipment thank you. I have a small construction conpany. I normally have 2-3 empty unimproved lots to maintain before their sold and also need to maintain the construction sites. Our city codes require lawns be kept at 6-8” maximum height. The lawn companies are now charging about $1000 a month to mow every 8-10 days. So I’m looking for a mower that I can use to keep my personal yard and the job sites. It’s pretty flat around here.... Northern Ohio. But it’s wet a god part of the spring and fall. I’ve been told to get the faster blade speed for better mulching and functionality in damp grass.

Hi Brent, I've got my Z545R delivered about a week ago. So far, I noticed that drive motors have different RPMs with same lever position, so the mower is not going straight. The cleaning of the deck with the hose does not really work, even thought I did it exactly according manual. The ROPS makes noise and the left handle is hard to operate. One armrest just broke down and parts of the engine have already rust on them. Do you have long term experiences? Looks to me as if JD is cheap nowadays...? BR, Jochen
@WesternEquipment3 жыл бұрын
I do not have long term experience with this particular machine since it is new to 2021 but I do have long term experience with John Deere equipment in general since I have been with Western Equipment for 8 years now. Some of these issues should be an easy fix. The Drive levers can be adjusted to make to mower drive straight. This adjustment process can be found in your owners manual and is very easy to fix. The ROPS also may just need to have a bolt tightened up to fix the noise and usually WD-40 or other lubricants will fix the sticky handles. I'm not sure about the armrest or the rust. But this mower does have a good warranty on it so I would definitely take it to your local dealer and ask them to fix these concerns because of the warranty you have. I can assure you that you have a high quality machine that will last you as long as you take care of it. I am sorry to hear of these issues but your local dealer should be able to fix you up. Let me know if I can help in any other way and thanks for watching!

@@WesternEquipment Just cheap and not as durable as fabricated. They may have better air flow but usually they are not long lasting. One hit and they are toast. I think JD should up their game for this machine and use a fabricated deck since the price warrants it. Sadly everything about the machine is great except the deck and perhaps the light blades as well. For $8000 CAD you'd expect fabricated. I'd pick a BadBoy avenger or elite over the JDZ545R since they are build like tanks.

check this out, an E100 plowing snow. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIXWamqro7t9Zqc I didn't think that was possible. I should check back with that guy next year and find out if his transmission is WRECKED hahahahahaha. I wonder why that Z545R isn't designed for adding a snow plow. Seems like such a shame to have such a big powerful machine and not be able to use it during the winter for snow removal.
