My previous vehicles were all Mercedes sedan. My last being the S430 LWB. It was my dream car. After 15 years, as typical with Benz, major components start failing: engine, Trans, etc. It just became way too expensive. But once you become accustomed to the luxury vehicles, it's hard to think about getting anything other then another Benz.....UNTIL I saw the Lexus ES. When compared in size and features, the Lexus was comparable in ever way. Plus need I say, thousands, upon thousands of dollars cheaper.....And a fantastic warranty. My Ultra Luxury ES350 is a dream to drive and I can honestly say that I will never go back...

Please make sure that you choose the Mark Levinson audio upgrade because the stock 10 speaker system is absolutely crap and very "un-Lexus". I don't know what they were thinking as the standard 8 speaker system in the outgoing ES (2018 and earlier) is so much better. Please listen before buying. Lots of people bought a new ES without listening, assuming the stereo would be great, and they regretted it. It's otherwise a great (and comfortable) vehicle.

Why does a luxury car require you to pay more over and above what is already a pretty hefty sum to get basic luxury features like wood and leather?? I can understand if it was a much cheaper car, but for a lexus this seems to be pretty scummy. You'd assume you get wood as standard!!

I didn’t get his or her nonsense of “ this is available as an upgrade”. So you have the upgraded car but you still need to pay for all the luxury items as additions/ upgrades?

@@bluwng Oh, it gets worse. Even if you upgrade to the Luxury or Ultra Luxury that has wood and leather standard, you still have to pay a la carte for the navigation and upgraded stereo, the upgraded headlights, the upgraded sunroof, and some other stuff.

How did the "feel" of the leather to the nuluxe seats compare? Did you find the animin leather feel MUCH MORE better??

The NuLuxe seats actually feel very good, although obviously semi-aniline leather is going to win. It's the leather smell that NuLuxe can't duplicate. It's part of the luxury experience that you miss once you're used to having it.

@Tony Sterbenc I had a NULUXE and a real leather lexus. I see little difference. And I am a huge and I mean huge leather fan. But when the leather has those perforated holes it stops you from sliding in and out easily which I like! I like to slide in and out. However, I sit on a bamboo seat cushion believe it or not. Just the seat part. So I can slide in and out. Even with the leather lexus.

I have I Guess. Ultra Luxury Lexus 300 Hybrid. I have the great expensive sound system but it does not have leather seats. Must be the trade off in the ultra premium package. Mark levinson sound system or leather seats. But they must have both 2offer. But fantastic sound system the mark levinson! Never heard quite anything like it!

@@ricknowak4582 If you have an ES that's 2019 or newer, and you're in the States, I don't think it's possible for you to have a Luxury or Ultra Luxury without leather seats. In fact, on any Ultra Luxury I'm aware of in this generation, the leather is standard but the Mark Levinson sound sytem is not. One tell is that if you have curving stitching on the seat and backrest cushions your body touches, you have leather upholstery; if it's straight lines only, it's NuLuxe. Both have perforations.

So confusing and misleading. Just tell us what is standard on both. From what I can tell, you pay a boat load more for the Ultra Lux and you still have to pay a lacerate for all cool features. This is 1990s old school marketing and trickery.

UL also has the vibration-absorbing Yamaha Performance Dampers bolted to the frame, which the base model does not. Some people complain that the "Ultra Luxury" name means nothing because there's still a lot of amenities left optional, but some of what's included is invisible yet significant.

I would never go for a base es350. It’s either luxury or higher or none at all. Id rather just get a fully loaded Camry or Avalon. For the same price as the base es350
