You have to drive this car to appreciate it. 🙌🏽 I didn’t much like the original RCF TVDs but man these Track Fujis models got me.

Fantastic car! I've always liked the RC 350/F and this is the ultimate edition to have. I love the fact an actual race driver appreciates this car for what it is, not what he thinks it should be. Other auto journalists who think they know how to drive because they took a weekend course should take note.😉 This car (along with the other RC models and IS) won't fully be appreciated until there is no chance of ever buying a brand new one, and nothing quite like it coming in the future. Yes, the EV apocalypse is drawing near, but it isn't the fault of the companies who have given us some wonderful machines over the years.

This was a lot of fun, the IS 500 too. (Auto writers and content creators think they can drive by virtue of their job! They won’t spend a dime to take a performance driving school.)

What an amazing car and even more so what an amazing engine. The world will be a lesser place when this V8 eventually goes away. In the meantime, let’s rejoice in what Lexus stands for. In a world used to recyclable things, Lexus is built to last with old world quality all over. Love that leather instead of all that vinyl vegan leatherette junk in some of today’s cars. Love that engine bay. Lexus keep doing what you do. Magnificent vehicle. Great driving as always Brian. Magnificent engine and display.

Thanks, Paul. This was so much fun and it’s pretty distinctive as well.

This limited-edition RC F Fuji Speedway edition is an interesting machine. The V8 has grunt and makes great noises. Plus, it comes with a timepiece, so we do a little unboxing in this episode. What do you think?

Great episode Brian. Love the RCF. I see you drove this car before MotoMan did since Kumo allegedly stole the time piece out of it. Just know that if MM gave you a cool Lexus F watch that looks at all similar to the one in this video, you might want to know that he gave you stolen wrist watch for your birthday. 😆

Thanks, Lee! Kumo is sneaky, that guy...but now I know where that watch came from!

Nice car, nice video review I have a feeling that the end of an era for Lexus' n/a V8 is near

Other companies seem eager to quit their engines, but not Lexus. It looks like they’ll keep the big V8 around while they add in hybrids.

great review , I wonder how the Lexus RCF will compare to the new 2022 Lexus IS500 , in terms of handling also the price is a little high for track edition , Imagine for $120K CAD what kind of C8 Corvette with Z51 , 3lt interior , race seats and ride height control you could buy and track
@BrianMakse3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pete! We'll find out as soon as we can get our hands on the IS 500! I think it has to be priced this way given its low volume (RC F in general) plus all of the special bits like carbon, wheels, brakes, etc.
@sunnyvalentino3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The RCF is Japanese Mustang GT, spec wise very similar, but better finished interior although dated and slower transmission (I'd take the Stang with the manual please). Pricing is hard to swallow but if rumors of the IS500F specs and price are correct, THAT is the collectible car to get. Last na v8 sedan in the world. I'm glad Lexus is giving us that and can't wait for your review.
@BrianMakse3 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more, Sunny! I think that IS will be a proper special car.
@davidwade76813 жыл бұрын
Why wont the rcf be a collectible ? I mean afterall it has same motor and its a real F
@sunnyvalentino3 жыл бұрын
@@davidwade7681 because it's just not that well reviewed and unique in that space, there is a lot of competition and it's just not differentiated. The IS500F might share a lot of the same stuff but is unique - there is no more na V8 compact sedans in the world, actually, almost no na v8 sedans period. Also, the new IS is a design win, the RC is ok. I don't own either so no fanboi. The comments to the IS500 reveal are very very positive. I think it's a decent bit lighter too and has more weight on the rear (better balance)
@davidwade76813 жыл бұрын
@@sunnyvalentino Glad you arent a fanboi neither am I but I still dont understand why the rcf wont be a collector's when it's a similar car. The interior is better in the Rcf better seats an it's more aggressive looking on the outside.. Lexus could've done better with the is500 it looks exactly like the is350 ...rcf is similar in weight compared to the is500. I think they both will be collectibles in their own right
@sunnyvalentino3 жыл бұрын
@@davidwade7681 again this is just my guess. We shall see in 10 years. But either car is great. Most people would be lucky to own them.

The Japanese Engineers Should have Offered an Exhaust Like GT Haus Street Demon,Being it's A" Speedway " Edition, + Super Tune Dealer Option, so it Would @ Least Sound like a Track Car & the Closed Valve Mode would Keep the Cops Happy ,in Cities.W/ those Dealer Options,Would Probably satisfy the Customer w/ a little Over 500 H.p.

@brian Another great review-and of a car I didn't know existed. That said, as long as I only had to listen to and look at that engine, I'd be happy. But, crikey-it's not a looker. Maybe it looks better live (?).

Thanks, Cameron. They’re only doing sixty of these, so it’s pretty unique. In terms of design, I’m gonna say it’s a bit unusual. Let’s go with that!

brian...no more hard tops for this agin ol fool! from now on...any car I get is gonna have to give me the sun on my head. iwill keep my old, but still cruising MKS 3.5 twin for my drives, my small hatch for my grocery store/home depot stuff...but everything else has to be a ragtop. last night some smart ass kid remarked on my 08 135 convertible..."well, the lesla is faster from a start up" i looked him and said"but it has a hard top...and I will beat it from Austin to Chicago in a race." get back to me when tesla has a fun rag top.
