being able to drag and drop footage onto Video Editors using just fingers on the iPad is just so much more convenient than using a mouse on a Mac. I have both Macbook and iPad, and constantly switching between the two based on the tasks I need to do. Just can't get to the point where I could get rid of one. Really, Apple is keeping iPad and Mac two different entities as long as they can.

Luma Fusion frustrates me so much when it comes to colour grading. The program can obviously hue shift but it's all stuck on sliders rather than colour wheels. All I've ever wanted from Luma Fusion is a lift, gamma, gain set of colour wheels and they've never implemented them.

Don't dream bro! Apple will never make 2 of its own products compete with each other! More and more desktop grade apps will be supported for sure but the platforms will completely be different so that buyers can make a distinct choice and Apple make money as well. Macos ipados will always remain different in order to coexist

@@sudipkundu999 Thats completely wrong. Apple have cannobolised thier own sales multiple times for example the iPods to the iPhone. Thier goal is to make the best products available and keep in mind to get 16gb of ram on iPad you have to get 1tb or 2tb option which costs 2400 so getting a MacBook is still relevant as it would be cheaper

Mbs are not Megabytes per second but Megabits per second. So just 12.5 MB per second.

Could you tell which ipad are you using? 16gb RAM 1Tb? The cheapest 8GB 128? Because there is a 1k price gap between them, and that totally makes the difference as to decide if it is really worth it

I am always with issue of editing Sony HVACS 4K 10bit 422 by using iPad Pro 2020 (8 bit 420 is OK for editing), is this new version with M1 chip can resolve opening and editing the 4K 10bit 422 file? Thanks for advance.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you a question : in your opinion, is it possible to transfer Canon C-Log3 files from a Canon EOS R6 body to a latest generation iPad Pro 12.9 (M1) via a USB-C cable ? I just tried and obviously it does not work ... Is it then possible to transfer these files via an SD card reader ? Thank you so much !

How much storage do you find yourself using for video editing ? Trying to decide if a 128Gb Pro will suffice or a Air 4 256Gb would be a better choice? (Of course paired with an external drive but from my understanding you have to move what you are working on, onto the iPad)

I would recommend the 256gb and up and use an external drive.

I believe they updated it so you can now edit directly on the external drive. So if you have time to purchase or return your purchase, pick the iPad Pro. Also the demonstrated multicam recently, that should be in an upcoming update.

If you want to actually have the Sony XAVC-S on the iPad itself, - you need to move the video files to the photo folder (SD card) you’ll need to take at lest one picture for the folder to appear, and then change the video file names from A0001 to A0000001 (from. 5 to 8 digits) and yes it is a big pain in the A$$ to do .

@createdtech I am not so impressed as I can easily edit Sony A1 8K video on my iPad Pro 2020 A12Z version with Lumafusion. I don't think you can evaluate the true potential of these machines with Lumafusion as when you importing them on the timeline, the program transcode them, therefore making them lighter to play and edit. Beside the capabilities of the iPad M1 though, Lumafusion is the WORST video editing App out there. Very useless interface with zero user-friendly enviroment. The funny thing is that they charge you for it. Even Apps like Videoleaps Premiere Rush are better.
