This seems like it would be the perfect monitor as long as you install BetterMonitor to fix the sharp text scaling thing. 300 nits is too low though ugh. I might just get a Studio Display still researching

Woz once said that he would’ve made it for free if Jobs asked for. Because he loved Jobs as a friend. For Woz it wasn’t about money.

What made the Mac / PC battle so much fun to watch in the 1970s and nearly 80s was the fact both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were megalomaniac control freaks but with different goals. Jobs wanted to force users to accept his vision of what computing should be, mostly copied from Xerox which invented the mouse, by controlling the hardware. Gates also wanted to force users to accept his vision, but didn’t care what hardware they used as long as it ran on MS-DOS. I started programming in 1977 on Wang 2200 and convinced the printing company where I was production manager to buy me a $60,000 Wang MVP system which had 8 ‘dumb’ keyboard/CRT terminals connected to a central CPU which ran on a 8-bit processor with 8 separate 29kb memory segments in time share fashion like a mainframe. An Wang had designed hardware for IBM inventing the magnetic donut ‘core’ memory for it. The MVP had a 5MB hard disk I formatted as multi-user data base for job tracking and billing. It was crude but it worked. When I first saw an IBM PC in 1981 I thought it rather lame because was single user. One of reasons I switched to buying Macs in 1987 was the ability to network and share printers and disks via AppleTalk but Sun Microsystem supplied the TOPS software for peer-to-peer file sharing and it wasn’t until 1990 when Claris created the FileMaker database app I was once again able to create non-redundant multi-user database apps and 1995 before FileMaker became relational and I could integrate them together to run our entire operation. Jobs and Gates both ‘walked on the heads of others’ to get where they wanted go and they put up with it because it made them uber-rich via stock options if they hung in and put up with the abuse. 😊

Whoa thank you for the display of the Logic Pro tracks. I am a producer and am coming from a 17 MacBook Pro. Would you recommend an m2 pro over an m3 pro then? I use logic

M3 Pro is better but if you can get the M2 for a discount it’s usually a better deal.

Apple has been a complete joke recently. 2024 and they still sell 8GB of RAM and charge ridiculous amout of money for larger SSD that you can´t change. What a bunch of capitalist clowns they are!

“Just build a PC”. This isn’t meant for you. I have so much on my plate that PC building isn’t on my radar. Which is why I have a MacBook for work and a falcon laptop for gaming. I have the money but if I could just have one and save some then why not. I think that is who this is for but what do I know?

So basically two different builds styles are competing each other. One has best pieces seperately and one has slightly lower end pieces for the sake of integrity

I have a question. After MUCH research I was unable to conclude this... which monitor would you recommend in 27" 1440p 120Hz (or more) with thunderbolt 4 (basically, I want a future proof gaming monitor which can be used as a display and power for my MacBook Pro). My budget is under 500 bucks if possible.

Apple has made themselves irrelevant to me due to their greed. "How can we increase our margins, when x% of our customers upgrade their laptops for less than half what we charge for the next higher RAM/storage?" Tim Cook, probably, "Let's make it where they can't be upgraded at all! Let's turn the MacBook into a throw-away device if the "hard drive" fails. Better yet, let's create a fault that causes 12 volts to be sent straight to the NAND chips to completely wipe them out on a motherboard failure, that way people will "have" to store everything on iCloud. Apple was rock solid under Steve Jobs. It is nothing but a greedy monster under Tim Cook.

This monitor has a lot of negative reviews on LG’s own site, relating to reliability. It seems for many people it starts having serious issues within the first year or two.

I have the 14. But I’m going to run out of GB sooner than later so I’m swinging for the fences going to get the 15 pro. 256GB. Investment. Smaller phone too, the smaller the better. The 16 pros are rumored to be 6.3 screens that’s a no no. I use Beats Studio buds so it’s just going to be convenient to switch to type C.

I have a benq monitor and it also has a USB C charging 65w DP and my concern is I usually leave my macbook connected to it but when I come back to use it I have to open the laptop lid and login and then start my work. Is there anyway to prevent this process to always open lid login 😪

unless you get a high end mac your wasting money. the pc can play games on on that low clocked hardware. macs have free office software and lower cost production software. window give you freedom of thing you can install, unlike the mac which has a time gate on your OS and hardware. your comparing arm to x86 on the numbers so it always going to be a mismatch arm always wins in lower power.
