Great riding! I got my Alpine Trail XR back in December and have been loving it. I will say, it doesn't stay quiet long, no complaints otherwise. Additionally, the production value of your videos is excellent. Looking forward to more content.

I have this bike same bike and all I can say is it is a downhill weapon. I am impressed even though it is heavier and tougher to ride uphill than my Norco. A 30T chain ring swap helps. It's a great bike!

It has arrived! Stoked af. I watched your unboxing at least 15 times hahahahaha. My rear wheel was a bit loose, the spokes. So i spent most of the day tightening the spokes and then true the wheel. Went for a ride afterwards... it was awesome. How much do you weigh and what size you went for, and what's the shock spring lbs?

@MagooOnABike3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate! Totally depends on your budget. I can recommend and of the Polygon Siskiu bikes, or even something like the Marin Alpine Trail 7, or XR (like my bike). These are great options, and I'd highly recommend going with something from Bicycles Online; however you can still get some great bikes elsewhere. If you do but something from Bicycles Online, it would be great if you can do so through the link in the description :)

Is there enough clearance between the pivot and chain ring for chain guard installation?

That's a nice rig mate! I have opportunity to buy one, however, I am thinking about it's weight. Is it true it weight above 16kg? If so, I think it's to heavy for everyday riding... And that it is too slack in the front? Can you help me and tell me if that hughe slack front end, combined with 16kg of tis weight makes it too cumbersome on flats and uphils?
@MagooOnABike3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate! It certainly is on the heavier side (16.5KG), however, it feels super stable at speed, and suprisingly climbs pretty well. The head angle is super slack, but I've never found it too slack. I ride it uphill and downhill multiple times daily, and absoloutly love it!! If you've got any other questions feel free to ask! If you do decide to buy one, doing so through my link (in description) would help a lot!!

@@MagooOnABike for your nice content, and especially now for your fast reply when I'm in a big dillemma - you got a sub :) Ok so from what I read, it climbs well, and it's heavy... I just wonder if it's overkill for my local trails. My other bike that I got my eye on is a Trance X 2, which is a 135/150 travel bike with geo that would be perhaps better for my trails, BUT, Alpine trail XR has top notch suspension compared to Trance... So my choice is: Be a bit overbiked on top suspension, or be on more balanced geo/lighter bike with mid-range suspension :( help me mate XD
@MagooOnABike3 жыл бұрын
@@eywa5 Hahaha yes quite a predicament. I would honestly take a look at what the most common 'theme' of bike is out on your trails, and maybe make a decision based off that? Both bikes are incredible, like you said; Marin does have superior suspension (which feels awesome) which was a big plus for me (and my trails). It's really all about weighing up what you prioritise and deciding from there. If you want something a little bit lighter and more agile, I'd probably go with the Trance, however if you are willing to sacrifice a bit of weight and moveability you'll get some insane downhill handling and very acceptable climbing with the Marin. This may have confused things even further, but I can neither say one or the other; both bikes are great :) Thanks for the sub!
