Just finished reading the Motor Trend COTY. They said the All Terrain (wagon) is classified as an SUV by M-B. The ground clearance is slightly better than the actual wagon. My guess is the All Terrain will come in the E 450 variant and the actual wagon will ultimately only come in the E 63 AMG version. The new inline 450 engine is sweet, powerful, and quiet. We just bought the 2021 GLE 450 SUV and it is extremely smooth and quiet. It is noticeably more quiet than the 2019 GLS 450 which had the previous incarnation of the V-6 (versus the I-6 now being built). Very noticeably more quiet. Excellent review and THANKS!

Why would MT worry about reliability? Utility? It's an E-Class, not a pickup or SUV. A 200K Porsche isn't any more useful or affordable to anyone. The German car makers have all figured out that the most efficient compromise between fuel efficiency and power of a turbocharged combustion engine was to make each cylinder being a little over-square (i.e. stroke slightly shorter than bore) at exactly 500cc each: 4 x 500cc = 2000cc = 2 litres. Hence the ubiquitous 3.0 litre 6s and 4.0 litre V-8s throughout their lineups as well. Cadillac and the high-end Japanese makers followed suite because the marketing folks said to, perhaps.

Taxes in many markets are based on engine displacement (2.0L for 4cyl, 3.0L for 6cyl, 4.0L for 8cyl). There are also legitimate efficiency benefits for engines with 500cc/cylinder. I like this car but the headlights make this car look weird like some cute car I’d prefer angry headlights

2 liter turbos have to do with emissions and government regulations, especially for regions where you have to pay more for larger displacements (china is the big one there)

James....Exactly. I live in Korea and we also pay according to engine size. There's also an annual tax on your car based on engine displacement.

18 inches wheel. common Mercedes an Accord has a stock 19 inches
@StephenFogarty20234 жыл бұрын
19 inch tyres wear out quicker, more easily punctured and cost more. The ride is harsher on 19” wheels. This model is for comfort, not performance... if u want 19” tyres, choose them when u pick options for ur car

Mercedes was foolish to send a refrigerator white (or black) press car. Impossible to photograph in a flattering way.
