I recently bought a new 2023 E450. No regrets. It is a fantastic car with a sublime power plant. I can get 32 mpg on the highway in eco mode. The straight six is silky smooth! MB was blowing out the last of the 23’s and it was a good price, as well. I couldn’t be happier with it.
@james20423 жыл бұрын
Honestly the E 450 is the only sedan I'd ever want. There's just something about it that makes it the perfect combo of sport, luxury and elegance that just no other manufacturer has met. Hell even MB hasn't met this blend in any of their other vehicles. The S class is just an executive transport, the C class is just a sports car. Really if money is no object, you can not go wrong with an E class, but you can with just about anything else.

At the risk of sounding like an old fogey, I will say I remember a time when the E-Class and S-Class both had tremendous presence on the road (or even when parked). Now, I feel like both sedans are designed to look smaller than they actually are, and distinguishing the E-Class in particular from the smaller C-Class is nearly impossible if you're not close enough to read the badge. Also, the interior of the S-class looks like a pachinko parlor.

@@damilolaakanni Not really. The Tesla has a horizontal screen and basically nothing else (at least the 3 and Y). Unfortunately Lexus no longer makes the GS. With a European an extended warranty would be a wise selection if you plan to keep it beyond the base warranty. The G80 from Genesis should be on your list. I have a GLE450 and looking to replace it this summer with a GV70 3.5TT

I had a friend who is a nurse and he was brainwashed online into buying a Mercedes E-class fey years back. He has a little over 100K miles now on it and spent tons of money on fixing censors, transmission and infotainment system. To be honest if you have lots of money to waste the Mercs are good cars, just super unreliable.

Where would you put the coupe version of this car, and is it worth looking at off-lease E450 coupes coming onto the market based on your impressions between the cabriolet and now the sedan? Reliability seems to be better when it's optioned without the air cushion suspension but then is it even the same ride anymore haha

I used to have wet dreams about Mercedes cars of yore -- stately-looking and bullet-proof reliable. This? This is neither. They cheapened its looks, and Mercedes reliability is now only a fairy tale.

Alex, you mentioned in your video that you might do a video of the MUBX infotainment. What is the Golden standard every rate off of? Also, I am starting to look at the E-Class wagon vs.XC90 cross country wagon. Who has the better infotainment connectivity system, which might be a good video for the viewers?

Is there an option for second row climate? Here in Australia, I can't find any mention at all - major fail IMHO if it's limited to dual zone. Once again Alex, you fail to mention Audi - why??? The A6 has tri-zone climate as standard, and decent toe room. What have you got against Audi?

I think I prefer either the BMW or Genesis. Maybe the Audi depending on the deal. Mercedes external look is too close to the C series, IMO, and that front is very much "meh". Interior is super nice though but those capacitive buttons on the wheel are not my jam.

True, because in this case the four isn't even more fuel efficient. Not much reason to get one when such a fine powertrain is offered.

Not sure how “high roofline” equates to 1/2” of headroom. Sounds dangerous. Tight footwell and luxury vehicle don’t really sound like they belong in the same descriptive pot. I think we can include the G80 in the conversation with the S90 right? The motor and fuel economy are impressive. The room in the S90 says luxury while the compactness of the E450 does not. The Genesis and Volvo would be my considerations.
