The screen is not necessarily the problem, the large parts of generic glossy plastic makes this look like anything but an S class.

The exterior is leaning towards being the dullest new S class ever. The interior.. that dashboard design looks anything but S class level. Maybe E class Extended, but it still looks wonky and inelegant :,(

It might be too early to jump in conclusions but I feel this might just be the first s class to dissapoint. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure its technology and features will be awsome but it just doesn’t really look like an s class. From outside it looks more like some chinese replica of a german car. Especially from the back

Very sad. Looks cold and clinical like an Audi. Doesn't look as luxurious and sumptuous as the current one. The amount of glossy black worries me because that scratches easily and leaves alot of marks. It could be ceramic but I highly doubt it especially based on their current interiors quality. The front actually looks nice but the rear a bit generic. Very sad.

Judging on the proportion of the steering wheel size with the dash size, I thinks it will be the new C-class. W206, though the reclining seats do suggest a higher level.

They ruined the S-Kalashnikov, my w140 looks way better and you can tell it is the highest model, with this one... Lexus met Audi and they crashed a Hyundai

The rear end is absolutely disgusting looks like a Kia or Hyundai and That floating center dash position for the screen looks just like a Toyota Avalon, they are clearly ripping off Toyota GROSS. Volvo and Tesla have done a much better with their integration of the screen into the center of the dash.

The Bentley Flying Spur is looking nicer now based on the interior if this is what we will get for the S Class. I don't see anything worth being a $100k+ car. How will this be turned into a Maybach trim level? $200k and the back of this S Class looks like a Hyundai. This just has to be a joke. All those touch screens is nice until your driving down a road and you want to change the temperature so you have to take your eyes off the road cause you don't know where the hell the button is cause there is no physical button you can feel. That top A/C vent reminds me of the Camaro. That top Head Up Display is so huge it best be doing some kind of 3D holograms.

It seems they're now styling their pinnacle model to look more like the A class and E class. They've ruined everything that made the S class stand above the rest. Before it looked elegant, expensive, special now it looks chintzy, bland, and generic. Who wants to buy a $100,000 car that looks like a $40,000 car that's been scaled up slightly?
