Even worse are the billions of people that are refusing His love. What do you have to lose by believing? Nothing at all. More importantly, what do you stand to lose by not believing? Think about that. /Prayer+Jesus Christ, son of God, every day I thank Your Father that I have a relationship with You. I do not deserve it, I did not ask for it, but You came for me because You know what I need. I need You now, precious Lord Jesus. My friends and family need You too. Give me the wisdom to speak to them humbly and help convince them of the power of Your love, and the patience to know when or when not to speak. In accordance with Your commandments, I humbly ask this prayer, Amen.

I can't agree more with the one comment about the stuck on screens. I can't wait till MB gets back to integrated screens and interiors sculpted around the tools you use to drive the car. I loved seeing the w140 in this video. The very first Mercedes I ever drove was a 1992 600 SEL which left a huge impression on my 16 year old self at the time. That car was revolutionary for its time and I remember loving the instrument cluster with the massive, sculpted hood over the numerous dials. Mercedes's direction with interiors today has driven me to BMW, however I'm sure a new generation of vehicles will lure me back at some point.
@losch783 жыл бұрын
"This looks like an old iPad" And that is my exact grippe with all interiors relying on screens. Tech doesn't age well. Look at any touchscreen from 10 years ago. Nicely crafted materials, good design ages well, screens don't. Mercedes and Audi are main victims here IMO right now.

You all maybe don't think/understand that it's exactly what car manufacturers want: all these interiors are designed to look old and obsolete after some time so that you, customer, you feel the need to buy a new and updated version of you car. That's why frequent face-lifting and interior updates became such a trend. Ah and if this this thing reminds you about phone manufacturers that release every less than a year a new phone, making yours old and obsolete, you are not that wrong...
@TheGargalon3 жыл бұрын
On audi they made an effort to integrate the display into the dashboard and it looks really good, while on the mercs it's just a display slapped behind the wheel like an afterthought. They are both screens, but I wouldn't place them in the same category.

Back in '91 I had the absolute honor of being able to visit the spectacular IAA in Frankfurt, Germany, where the new W140 was displayed for the audience. The car was totally jaw dropping back then. Nothing the world had ever seen before in car building. It was huge, it was modern, it was bald, it was aristocratic....people, many many people had gathered around the Nautic blue 600 SEL to catch a glimpse of the car and especially it's fine interior. The entire experience was mesmerising, mindboggling. The air was filled with excitement over this boss-of-all-cars. Yes, it was the absolute pinnacle of car building and nothing even came close. Now, when I look at the latest, probably very fine S-class, excitement doesn't kick in. Just another great Benz, that doesn't really stand out anymore against it's strong competitors. @star500e3 жыл бұрын
Hey guys Brilliant review on the w223 and the w140! At the risk of being the peanut gallery and nit nerding the details, the w140 is very very forward in its execution. The double glazed glass is entirely unique to the w140 in that it is manufactured like that of your home rather than other glass wherein the panes are sandwiched together. Further, a comparison between the top-flite s580 and entry level s320 swb is not entirely fair either as the then top spec s600 came with most everything you commented about in the s580, or it was available as an option. That includes adaptive suspension, added sound deadening, adjustable rear seats, more power, adjustable seating, phone, fax, tv, and nav. The model you have there is likely a 96, which would make it the first of the decontented Mercedes of the schrempp years. 95 has more features and 97 re added some and replaced asr w esp and bas, added sound deadening, new electronics for the engine w new mounts making it quieter, new transmission, new security and improved handling.

Funny intro, but as a longtime W140 S500 owner heading toward 300k miles I was deeply disappointed. WHY...would you borrow the lowest possible engine/trim level of W140? This appears to be a short wheelbase 6 cylinder which would lack the SLS rear suspension. At minimum, a LWB V-8 with SLS would have been more representative of North American W140's.

I see nothing wrong with it because touchscreens are and is the future of today, so I don't see why you'd complain unless you're as old as my mom and can't keep up with all this technology. Things are changing and you can either be stuck in the past or evolve with it. It's like in the early 1900's when vehicles started becoming a thing, people said that horses and buggys are better yet here we are.
@peterj57512 жыл бұрын
@@vince3523 I use touch screens all the time but they are a dangerous idea in cars because you need to take your eyes off the road and to try and hit individual touch buttons while the car is moving. A physical knob and button requires much less time with your eyes off the road to operate. Having to go through layers of touch menus to change the temperature or turn on heated seats is crazy. Just because something works best in one situation doesn’t make it the best for everything.

@oliverlebt62503 жыл бұрын
To drop the rear head rests was not a feature that had been invented in that 90s S Class. It had been available in a mercedes E Class in 1986 already. Maybe it had been invented for the 80s S Class or even before that. But I appreciate that both of the moderators appreceated that feature much more than all that touch display bullshit. In my opinion the "cockpit" equipped with two totally dominating touchscreens is absolutly ugly and a total design catastrophy, especially the one behind the stearing wheel. It looks as if the car is still in the testing process without having a speedmeter etc. built in and the testing engineer has placed his tablet behind the stearing wheel as an improvised solution to get instant driving data during several testing cycles.---- It seems as if the constructors had forgotten that they were building a car instead of an entertainment fascillity. To make my point of view clear, I am not against an option to get access to a touchscreen while driving, but the screen itself is an ugly object to be looked at while not in use. So it should be out of sight then. Concerning the tachometer, speedometer etc. I would prefer classic instruments. If there are advantages in led displays, which lead to choose one, it should be designed to imitate the appearance of classic instruments at least. From outside the new S class is not looking good. Someone in the comments wrote it looks like a used soap, I agree to that. Especially the front is looking bad, there is no consistency in the forms of the different parts of it.

The W223 is slowly growing on me, however I can't overlook the huge and inappropriate grille. The W222 (2018) looked amazing and was a proper successor to such a legend design wise. The W223 dropped the ball spectacularly in the front and the back. The A8 looks miles better and is truly understated whereas the 7 Series is even bolder in design and can pull it actually off in my opinion. The new S-Class looks like a softie and just like a bigger A-Class Sedan. No wonder they tried to make up for it with all the incredible tech.
@dr-ok3sn3 жыл бұрын
huge and inappropriate grill? the grill isn’t bigger compared to the W 222 (2013) gen, it’s just designed different, that’s why it looks bigger. and it’s especially small if you campare it to something like the W 07 / W 150, that thing is a grill on wheels and nobody is complaining about it. and calling the S-Class „just an bigger A-Class“ is kinda pathetic. you would never mistake them if you see both in real life. btw here’s a secret: every mercedes is supposed to look similar, it’s called family resemblance and they are doing it that way longer then you’re alive, but don’t tell anybody.

On top of that the new headlights look like the ones on the E-Class, C-Class and A-Class. The last generations of these cars all had similar but still unique head lights. In the new generation they just get bigger, pretty boring. And yes it looks like a bigger A-Class, especially in the back. I live in germany and see both cars quite regularly, so I know what I'm talking about. You will never mistake an A4 or A6 for an A8. Same goes for the 3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series.
