Thanks for posting. I picked up my blue 850 on the 15th, I rode it 86 miles home through the allegheny mountains of western Maryland and eastern West Virginia. It was fantastic. Stay safe.

@@dreamreaver23 I am loving the bike. Living in the hills of West Virginia, it is a motorcyclists' dream. The 850's low end torque is very beneficial. I have the average MPG display issue and would like to get that corrected

@@iitywybmad29 I‘ve read something similar here in Germany regarding the Liter per 100km display. One guy in a Guzzi forum wrote he changed the setting to kilometers per liter and now it displays the correct liter per 100 km information. Sounds weird, but maybe you should try that with MPG, too.

@dreamreaver23 thanks for this video. I just got a used 2021 V7 Stone, and tried following what you showed but my gear shift warning flashes all the time on different gears and different RPMs, and I can't tell if the bike has an issue or I'm doing it wrong. Is the warning supposed to tell us to shift down if RPM is below the gear shift L number, and shift up when RPMs go over the gear shift H number? Unfortunately the manual barely explains this. I don't know if I should set the L value around 7000 like you showed (and the H value around 9000) to get it to stop flashing, or make it more like 4000-8000, and it shouldn't flash if I stay in the middle of that range. I'm pretty sure I tried both ways and it still flashes all the time. I'd turn it off if I could but will settle for understanding what it's supposed to do and setting it to be less intrusive.

Didn't know about this, I also don't know if I ever would run the bike up to 7200rpm is runs out of power around 6500 if memory serves. Also on the Stone it's far less annoying because it's the black monochromatic eagle flashing. Why they didn't make that a digital RPM band I'll never know.

Great video - thanks. I am waiting for my V7 Special to be delivered, but I find the rev light is useful on my CRF300 Rally as I ignore it in normal riding and it kicks in at the rev equivalent of 71MPH in 6th, which reminds me I'm speeding out of the corner of my eye if 'Old Bill' are around with their speed guns, or are behind me.

For break-in they want you at or below 4500 correct? I just noticed mine the other day was on 450. Have about 240 miles on the bike so far so I have a ways to go.
@dreamreaver233 жыл бұрын
the manufacturer want's you to stay at or below 4500, yes. my mechanic at the moto guzzi dealership said, "Ride it like it's yours, bang the rev limiter, ride it hard, use it like you would any other bike, just don't baby it, and don't stay at the same rpm for an hour straight. It's not gonna effect anything on these bikes, trust me I've been working on them for almost 20 years." So i said OK, and that was that, My first service is on the 26th, so i guess i will find out if it truly had any affect then.
@xtrythis11703 жыл бұрын
Got it.. I have been riding it a little harder than I should for break in but not banging on the limiter or anything.. I also have an oil leak at the bell housing and long block so mines going back to the dealer anyways. 🤦♂️ Hope they get it sorted because I really love the bike.
@dreamreaver233 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have not banged the rev limter yet either, I don't think i have even hit the red line yet. lol. That sucks about the oil leak, I hope that they get it repaired quick. @dreamreaver233 жыл бұрын
i had the problem where mine wouldn't "Click" it was messed up from the factory, also known as a "Sticky button" they replaced it under warranty and now it works great. with yours being a 2016 you can check with a dealership to see if you can order the parts, i don't believe that it's too pricey, just takes a while to get it from italy . also maybe check out some of the aftermarket guzzi stores online, guzzitech, etc. hope that helps, and sorry that it took so long to see the comment, it was under my "Held for Review" tab.

Two quick Questions - What’s the procedure for lowering the Rev warning Light, and do you know the quantity of Oil for the Engine, Gearbox and Final Drive ?
@dreamreaver233 жыл бұрын
if you keep pressing the mode button it will eventually wrap back around and start again at 4000. 4000 is the lowest the light can flash at. from the book this is what it says for quantity of oil Engine Oil: 122.05 cu in (1750 cc) 10W-60 Gearbox Oil: 30.51 cu in (500 cc) 75W-140 Transmission Oil: 10.37 cu in (180 cc) 75W-140

Engineers always gotta be making more gizmos. The whole point of that big tachometer on the right is to tell us when we're going to need to shift. These days, it's no worry anyways as the ignition will cut the power if we over do it anyway. I'll trade that, modes, traction control etc for a darn fuel gauge!
