Derek just HAS IT, it's like his frame was made specifically for 212. He looks wide as a house while still having an aesthetic midsection and v taper and looking so muscular that you can't even tell that he had to cut down to make weight.

Clarida has a much worse structure/ Derek is a master of proportions. He's better than Bumsted I hope he wins this year, because there hasn't been such a complete competitor in this category for a long time and there won't be for a long time.

I don't understand how lundsford had striated glutes from hip to the tie in of his hamstrings but had a super soft chest. Dude was shredded everywhere but the chest and shoulders. He had crazy abs too!

So so so so close , apples and oranges. Shaun has such unbelievable conditioning and density, while Derek has unreal structure and proportions . My eyes kept going back and fourth between them unsure who to go with . Definitely the most competitive , exciting class from the whole weekend .

Lungsford is like a modern version of old school classic physique. He has big pecs, exceptional V-taper, excellent muscle separation, and finally that 90s conditioning he kept missing.

I wouldn't call this a "total domination" or anything but surely a decisive win. I really dislike this saying that you have to "knock out the champion" so I'm glad the judges gave it to Lunsford. Whoever looks best on stage should win, no matter how close and regardless of reputation, hype or previous placings. Once again, nice video!

I was very impressed with both for the whole video, and I do think Derek deserved the win. I was totally convinced, though, when I saw that front double bicep while Shawn hit the crab. That was just absolutely nuts. Idk what it was but literally everything about his physique just clicked in that moment and his tiny waist in combo with his wide shoulders and insane quads just blew me away.

In my view some poses are more than important than others and his FDB is absolutely insane, the best of the olympia event this year all categories included. You can really imagine his silhouette on the packaging of bbing supplements. And in all the poses he looks at least good which is not the case with clarida. His BDB is quite good too. Like someone else said his ideal bone structure makes clarida looks like a child. A deserved win imo.

Shaun was 178 pounds he mentioned on Instagram not in the 190 range yet haha. Would love to see it not sure if possible. Was a proper battle between these two, you called it in your pre judging Shaun needs to literally be 100% every single time. When looking at Derek he just looked like the winner through and through, structure is incredible. I legitimately have no idea how he sucks down too make the weight limit. Was really rooting for Shaun, massive fan of his.

I don’t like how they force weight limit to height. They should just go with the weight category. That might give more to the smaller guy. Then, just give more weight to the smaller guy so he isn’t completely dwarfed.

You're right, this was more interesting and competitive than the open class and even the classic. Other than the bloated stomach, I preferred Shaun Clarida. The feathering in the quads, the rounder muscle bellies, and the vascularity beat Lunsford's generally bigger frame in my opinion.

I think Derek is going to be like a Phil. I really think this is just one Olympia win of many for him. This structure is downright fantastic for the 212 division. Can't wait to see what he brings next year. Can't wait to see what Hadi is going to look like next year too since he now has Derek's coach coaching him. He said he wanted to add an extra 10 to 15 lb for this upcoming year. Not sure how in the world he can add that much weight on his already packed physique. Can you imagine Hadi with an extra 10 lb of muscle coupled with his consistent on the money conditioning?!! Hadi would be a force to be reckoned with!!!

It's pretty simple Derek beat him on size and shape that's it. His structure is so much better than Claritas and he had enough conditioning to edge him out. Derek will be unbeatable with his structure as long as he comes in shape.

Honestly this years Olympia was kind of boring in men's open Hadi was great at the finals but somewhat small at prejudging, Ramy was better last year, Brandon while bigger was somewhat soft especially his back, Bonac looked small, and Nick didn't compare so well with the big boys. And in Classic Bumstead was better last year plus Logan and Steve couldn't make it too the O. But in 212, the show couldn't be more exciting that entire top 3 was amazing

Derek's size and structure were hard to ignore with his achieved conditioning. That said, I don't think he did enough to knock out Shaun. Shaun has so much gnarly muscle on his tiny frame and his conditioning is disgusting! Not sure if Shaun can improve his chest, but that's the one weak area I think he has.

Derek was very soft in the chest and arms. I would have given it to Shaun because he was on. He at least matched last year or looked even better. They gave it to Derek simply because he was so much bigger. I’m afraid Shaun will now try to play the size game with Derek and come in next year without his insane conditioning.

I would agree with Shaun winning because of his conditioning but I choose Derek for the fact that he finally put it together and improved that is the reason why he won it wasn't much to do with size or his conditioning which was fantastic but it's because he finally put it together and came in conditioned enough even tho Shaun was in better shape you cannot deny Derek winning

Shaun was given up size in the front relaxed as well and in every pose but his conditioning was on point, Shaun did edge him out with conditioning but Dereks physique is unmatched and has better proportions and physique all around no question.
