My biggest issue with CVT is that Nissan insists on the fake shifting under harder acceleration. Just let the CVT benefit from its design where shifting isn't a thing. It'd be like making an electric car feel like it shifts gears but ultimately negatively effecting performance and experience. Nissan CVT could easily be the smoothest transmission but simulated shifts make it a lesser experience than it could be. If you're light on accelerator these transmissions are just a nice, smooth pull in the torque of the engine.
@liddlebopeep4 жыл бұрын

Actually, the gas pedal is a lot more linear than anything else. It's just that we all got used to the weird behaviour of our cars, putting out different amounts of power at different rpms. A CVT will level that and the car will do exactly what you tell it via the gas pedal. It's more like driving an electric than driving an ICE. Once you get used to it, you'll really appreciate the amount of sophistication a CVT will give you. It's so much more advanced than a traditional automatic, especially when coupled to 4WD.
@DavOlek_ua3 жыл бұрын
Intuitive and convenient - that's exactly the description for my Nissan
@NissanAltimaGuy4 жыл бұрын
Anyone complaining about the Cvt it’s so refined you truly could mistake it for a traditional automatic. My favorite thing about CVT’s are no “bad gear” ever. Not at 45mph, 60mph, 90mph, 110mph. It’s just nice to punch it and get the power you ask for. Mine has 95k miles on it and have had no issues. Comfy vehicles, Quick on their feet, smooth and quiet. There’s a reason many love Nissan’s and stay loyal to the brand. If you take care of them they last. That goes for any vehicle.

But now I'm stuck. - While the CX5 has the best body, the infotainment system sucks. - The CRV seems like the obvious choice, but its ugly. - The RAV4 is a top rival, but the infotainment system sucks, and its ugly. - The Rogue is what I want, but I'm concerned about spending $45K on a simple vehicle, when I could get a used Lexus for the same price. Information constipation is what I have right now, do you have any advice?

Rogue is the worst. It’s CVT will fail within 100k miles. Personally I like RAV4 the best and it’s also most reliable. CX5 and CRV are good options too.

I have a video of the interior of an SL rogue on my channel. Check it out and Agreed its a step up. I'll film a platinum interior video in the next week as well.

Test drove this in the Platinum AWD version and love the look of the exterior/ interior and how comfortable it is, however the CVT just does not deliver that OOMPH for me personally.
