I still rock my 2012 Razer Naga Molten Special edition. It was the greatest mouse ever created. Perfect button size. Thin, went into the body of the mouse. I don’t have large hands and I reach every button so easily. I am sad they don’t make them like this anymore. It is the most comfortable and the red molten cracked lines lighting up is so nice. If you have any pull, please beg them to make it like this again haha. I would buy 4 right off the bat. Nice video btw.

This is awesome! I didn't think the molten had a fan base lol. My moltens middle mouse button gave out a few years ago but im stubborn and still use it as my primary mouse. I hope one of these current nagas come close to the feel

Just ordered one. They made all the right changes imo. Smaller, lighter, removed the stupid side click buttons on the scroll wheel, newer texture coating, better cable, better sensor.

Yeh scroll wheel is only mouse wheel up/down and mouse wheel click. Not left and right anymore. The sensor, cable, mechanical keys etc are all wins. I couldn't fault the mouse in that regard. I wanted the body logo to light up though!!! Hope you enjoy the mouse man, it's certainly a good choice!

Got my Naga X two days ago and I absolutely love it! I really liked that they went away from the scrollwheel with sideclicks. The wheel of the Trinity was really wobbly and felt horrible to scroll. The new scrollwheel is perfect in my opinion:) I also really like the cable:) paired up with a bungee I barely notice it^^

Do you have to keep the razer software open in the background to use the buttons?

I don’t think so, but it can just store one profile on it without synapse. Out of the box the buttons work as the number keys on your keyboard.

How long did you have the Trinity before you got this? Was it broke?

@@dragonragegamin I never owned it. just tried it in multiple stores. I also have owned other mice that have sideclicks on the scrollwheel. Never liked it. Still using the Naga X BTW:) It holds up really good:)

LOL my naga trinity did go run with the side panels because the pins would get stuck so the clicks dont get sensed. perfect for trying to heal someone and just watching them die.

I miss the 2014 naga. Loved the fat and heavy feel to it, and the thumbpad was the perfect size for me.

Yeh the naga 2014 was certainly a bit of a fatter style mouse, the key pad doesn't change a great deal the mouse itself is just smaller with a bit of a what feels like a roll in withthe 3,6,9,12

Love the 2014 naga. First one I used. Bought a backup shortly after buying it and am now on the naga chroma which is basically a 2014. Gonna hopefully hold out till a corded version with the mouse wheel left and right click. Too many things bound to that to loose it.

Hey mate, this still has the bindings on scroll wheel for left, right and down. Still has 16 binds, the only one this lost from the 2014 style was mouse button 5 (so only having the 1 on top as opposed to 2).

I wish they would put the top buttons (mouse 4/5) back where they were on the original naga - so much more convenient to access and it made them very usable - unlike the 2014/trinity design.

I've got the SWOTOR Razor MMO mouse and loved it, the scroll wheel click died and have been looking to replace it, I like the larger 2014 model, might try and find one.

2014 Naga is small in my hand, it is NOT for people with large hands, very disappointed >_>

The Naga 2014 is the fattest MMO mouse out of all of them. The G600 is pretty similar. The 2021 Naga will be way too small in your hand if that's the case.

thanks for the review i had the naga trinity it was great to have the options to change the side pannels but i knocked my naga trinity of my desk once and it has damaged the internals so the pannels don't work properly any more so be aware guys the trinity is great but fragile imo so im buying a naga x now also me knocking the mouse of the desk was me just being a clumsy idiot

Thanks for the video. Comparing the side button grid on the Scimitar and the Naga, which one do you prefer and why ?

They are both different, I like how responsive the Naga ones feel, the Scimitar isn't as tactile in it's response, but, the Scimitar has the ability to move the thumbpad which is a huge bonus, it also doesn't roll into towards the middle of the mouse, it's a much flatter panel. I like them both, the Scimitar is probably favoured more though if I'm honest due to the ability to move the 12 button pad and for the fact I'm so used to the 3,6,9 etc not rolling towards the centre. The bonus is you get super used to either of them very quickly. The only other downside on the Scimitar keypad is your numbers fad and wear very quickly, so you're just left with a ratty looking keypad on the side of your mouse (if that bothers you)

Hi there great Review. I do have one question how do you create multiple profiles for one game.I did create two profiles for Gw2 which only one profile I was able to link to the game. Razer was not able to switch between them. Always kept the one link to the game. Thank you for your help.

I got mine today after watching this video. Gotta say the feeling is really nice. Only surprise for me was that the buttons are actually bind to the keyboard buttons which i was not expecting. Rather I thought it would appear as ‘mouse button 5’ etc. which is how it was with my 5 button mouse. So now i guess i have to do some work on my binds but hopefully ill get it set up. Edit: I want to continue using my 1,2,3… keyboard buttons independently of the mouse ones.

Glad you got it sorted man, yeh the corsair functions the same with the 12 button pad mapping to keyboard binds as well. On this mouse there is that hyper mode though, which you can switch to and gain more binds I believe. But I haven't played around with that yet

Logitech G600 is awesome as well. The G-Shift feature essentially doubles the buttons it. Really durable, had one for years and hasn't messed up on me yet. It is a bit heavy and fat tho

The G600 reminds me a bit of the Naga 2014 in regards to being heavy and fat lol I would have liked a white G600 but I don't think they make it anymore.

@@Darkmech the g600 was too heavy for me. Picking it up to re-center was annoying. I found out there's 2 weight plates inside that can be removed if you open it up. Why the hell would they put weights inside? After removing them, the mouse now weighs about 90 grams, which is on par with the naga x. But I prefer the naga side buttons as they are more responsive and quicker than the stiff, slow g600 side buttons.

Is this the exact same thing as the trinity? Or are there slighter differences like having smaller hands

Pretty much the exact same size as the trinity, it's SLIGHTLY shorter by about 1mm in measurements. It's just the solid 12 button mouse rather than the attachable plates, the big difference is the removal of MB5 which the trinity still has and the Naga X is a lot lighter than the trinity also.

used the naga molten for around 2 years when it started to break, after that 7 years of g600. Now im in the market for a new one and since the g600 still isnt updated i guess ill try the naga x and give razer another shot.

This is certainly worth a try. As always I think it's a pretty personal choice, the corsair has more weight behind it which some will prefer, it's also a little wider. The Naga is lighter and slimmer. The big thing is I fucking hate Icue software with a passion and the Razer software is just fucking easy to use.

Having only 1 button below the scroll wheel is a pretty big deal. I use the 2 top buttons all the time to go back and forward between web pages and desktop windows. I guess you can no longer do that with the Naga X?

Yeh the single button is a bit of a let down in that regard, I use the top 2 buttons for WoW bindings. Not honestly sure around the reason to remove it.

This will be the big thing for me, my 2009 died due to left click, and my 2014 died via sensor. I'm keen to see how this one holds up, I actually really like the mouse/feel/performance of the 2021 design. I'm just hoping they've fixed those issues we've seen in the past.

You should try the logitech g600. It only started failing after 10 years, some buttons are less responsive

so i got this mouse but aafter like 10+ years of wow pvp without a mmo mouse.. playing with it seems soo wierd :D dont get me wrong, its really good, but like the finger muscle memory needs some time to adjust :D

Haha that'll be the big test to be honest. I've never had issues with the scroll wheel, my first 2009 died due to left click, and my 2014 which to be fair lasted a long time died due to the sensor. So I'm hopefully that improvements have been made around the durability side of the mouse, but I won't know how that is until I keep smashing it around for a few months.

@@Darkmech I think when it comes to reliability, best case scenario for us users would be to see which mouse lasts the longest and just keep buying the same version. Ending up with companies still manufacturing a 2010's mouse in the 2030's. I was gonna say "that'll be difficult for the 4x3 grid MMO mice due to few models", but that's just not true. It's never the grid itself that fails, at least from what I've seen so far. The grids are solid. It's always the basic mouse features like sensor, scroll, or left or right click. It should happen eventually when the industry is old enough, though through planned obsolescence the manufacturers might be sabotaging their own ability to win the "most reliable mouse"-title, in preference for keeping the status quo of continuing to sell mice to people over and over again at as fast a rate as they think they can create. Yeah, I'm jaded, and all the trust I ever harbored is replaced by hate.

I found it strange switching from the corsair to this, but really only took 1/2 days of solid gaming to settle into it. The software is one of the biggest selling points as it's so fucking easy to make macros and rebind.

I'm really hoping the 2021 version has done a bit of work to fix those issues, my 2009 died from left click and I know it's been a bit of a thing. It was also an issue on the early Scimitar Pro's. Won't know until I bash this around for a few months though!

the naga x uses optical switches, less prone to mechanical failure (in theory). they feel almost like normal ones, hope they will last longer

@@Darkmech yeah, the 2009 and 2012 model were definitely the best ones regarding haptics. a shame that the plastic contacting the MB1/2 switches was prone to bending inwards causing double clicks over time. but the sensor of the newer ones (trinity and onwards) is incredibly good, making it even competitive in shooters. if only razer made a "naga retro" with todays hardware, but the shape of 2009/2012... one can dream ;)

Feel like the naga ist going to be worst from model to model. This one has only downsides and basically no reasons to buy, except my old one gets broken and im not able to get the previous model. Bigger cable, no rgb logo on the back and one button less... c‘mon razer... 🤦‍♂️
