I have viewed this brilliant video so many times. This particular combination of silver dial with smooth bezel on the oyster bracelet is so simple but also so elegant and sophisticated. The way the silver dial plays with the surrounding light is stunning. As you mentioned in the video If anyone is after a one watch that does it for all occasions in their collection then this watch has to be one of the best that you could purchase.

I have a collection that includes: Daytona Panda, Ceramic GMT Pepsi, Two Tone Bluesy Sub, SkyDweller Black dial, Explorer2 42mm Polar and DJ 41 Blue dial, oyster fluted - and this exact one - DJ41, Silver, Oyster, smooth. This is my favorite watch for reasons I can not even explain to myself. But I will try: First foremost - I just like the way it looks - I never get tired of looking at it. It is simple and elegant without being plain. It never looks out of place no matter what I got on. It has a look that reminds me of quality industrial art - like the way those fine mid century German cameras used to look - Leica, Hassleblad, Linhoff. It has an almost "Art Deco" styling about it. The silver dial and oyster smooth bezel give it a look as though the entire watch was carved and machined from a single solid chunk metal, or poured from a molten glob of the most beautiful stainless steel you can imagine. It almost looks like a medical instrument you would see on a surgeons operating table. This is a look that is exclusive to this particular dial/bracelet/bezel combo of the DJ. Additionally - because of its robust appearance - even though it is mainly viewed as a dress watch - it retains a masculine, rugged, no-nonsense solidness that conveys Tool watch - I view this as a steel sports watch, that is a little dressier and polished. And then, the thinness and weight and the way it feels on my wrist is just right. This was the least coveted and least expensive of all my watches - and yet - it is the watch that my eye loves to love and my wrist loves to wear more than the others which mainly sit in their case because I wear this one so much!

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I have the Wimbledon 36 oyster smooth and whenever I wear my other watches I think, I’d really like to be wearing the 126200 instead. There is a tactile softness and smoothness to the watch itself n conjunction with the short, compact lightness that make it disappear on the wrist.

my daily driver as well, cheapest. got couple complements. I'm honest, I love this more because it's easy beat up watch hhahah. not giving to much attentions vs bluesy. In the future i want the full gold and i'm sure the full gold will be in the winder mostly 24/7 LOL

Same story. First I was looking for a datejust on jubilee bracelet but this model was available at the time so I ended up with oyster bracelet and silver dial. I never regret for the purchase. Absolutely beautiful watch.

I got the exact same watch but a blue dial as my 1 watch collection. I never get tired of looking at this, it is so gorgeous. I was debating between a Jubilee and oyster as the price diff was like 200 dollars but went with Oyster as oyster's smooth surface flows so well with the smooth bezel. It's as if it is a fruit hanging from a watch making tree, just a perfect piece mate.

Almost bought it 3 years ago but decided on another Omega first as I knew once I had the Rolex…I’d be done. Stunning, simplicity that wears well with anything in any occasion and it doesn’t say “I’m a pompous ass”!

I got the same piece 4 days ago in London. Just walked into the AD and it was on display. Tried it on and i was really impressed with the silver dial, smooth bezel, oyster strap combo - it works well. Jubilee & Fluted Bezel & Oyster & Smooth Bezel goes perfect together. A really nice everyday watch you can dress up & down!!! Enjoy!!!!

People underestimate the Datejust and the oyster perpetual. They are both phenomenal watches. A watch with a 5K to 8k price tag that is more accurate than a Patek Nautilus.

@@23bigbossman new they are 7900 from the AD, preowned in good condition they are still over retail. So it sounds like a good price as long as you’re getting it from a reputable source. Try to get box and papers (Rolex warranty card). You can check chrono 24, enter the reference number and see the market value of the model. Just realize there is a wide price range on there. For example, I have a discontinued omega speedmaster which is selling between 7-9K. I would say the 7k is closer to the real price. I usually look to see which ones are reserved, that’s the true market value as they are being traded at that price.

I'm going for the silver dial 36mm, but the classic set up (fluted, jubilee)... really hoping it'll be versatile enough...I heard the dial changes from silver, to champagne to pink even? Hey 36 is a decent size and will look great on Jubilee. The silver sunray dial does pick up some surrounding light so can change hue during different times of the day. Thanks for watching!

@@TheLumeRoom I did consider the black dial and was on the list for a few months, but the more I think about it, more the silver dial makes sense... black dials are very common, and if I end up with a sports rolex some day in the future, it's likely to have a black dial.. My other question was the fluted bezel and whether it's too "shiny" or "showy offy"... I did try the silver 36 at the AD a few weeks ago (display only of course!), and it seemed subtle... but I'm still not sure how well it'll fit in at work, on a beach, on the weekend...

I have the exact same watch and I love it. What most don't know is Rolex gave President Eisenhower an 18k Date Just for his efforts in D day. The Day Date was given to another president 16 years later. I bought mine back in 2015.
