very good review :) After a 4 month wait, I picked up my new Himalayan (granite black) 3 days ago, and due to the cheap price , i added black aluminium side panniers, Givi engine bars, hand guards and heated grips to be fitted prior to pick up :) trying to run the bike in at 40mph at 3000rpm (for 300miles) seemed to labour the engine in top gear, which is bad for breaking in an engine..so i just rode it up to 3,000rpm through the gears and kept it under 4000rpm in top gear which is 50mph...she is sooo smooth, was very comfortable on my 3 hour 'B' road ride back from the dealers and i absolutely love it! The tripper nav also connected to my phone without any problems at all.. I sold my, bought new 2018 R1200GS 'Rallye' in March, as i had my heart set on one of these after watching the youtube vids and have no regrets about my decision..neither has the wife lol, I bought her a new Suzuki SV650 last week as a present and she loves it! :D

Lovely review. Those english country roads look so amazing to ride on! The Himalayan is definitely on my dream list for my garage. I've booked the new Meteor 350 myself from RE. @@Revviews Hi! Hope you are doing well. I come back seeking your opinion abit. Love the bike during the past two months. However, a small problem bother me a lot. I'm literally new to these kind of bike. Hence, seeking your thoughts if it's normal to hear the fuel pump noise while riding? The hissing sound is the same as when we turn on that red kill switch. And, It's also getting louder whenever I place my laps on the fuel tank while riding. I went to the RE service center since the first week I had the bike, but they told me that it just a normal thing on the bike. I try to ignore it, but it just getting worse and really annoying. Really want a Himalayan, from all the reviews ive seen it looks like everything i want in a bike. Not sure why they bothered with Tripr Nav though, it seems that they never work as intended unless the phone is mounted right next to it, in which case you have a better-inbuilt nav on the phone anyway. Pretty pointless as it's intended but it's an easier to read clock than the digital display so it still manages to serve a purpose. I grew up riding a Honda CT110 so the sound of single piston bikes make me happy

How would you compare this to the Meteor? I know there are so many factors. For my first bike I'm looking for something I can ride around town with (live in a big city area in Phoenix, AZ USA) and also take on a weekend cruise for a few hours outside of the city. Would the Meteor and the Himalayan both fit the bill for that? I'm mainly looking for comfort and stability. I'm 51 years old so I don't want to get a bike like a Ninja 400 that I can get myself in trouble with or hurt on.

Agreed they are similar in terms of both easy going. I guess the Himalayan will give you more options for road type and its also slightly more powerful. The himalayan might actually be the more comfortable for long day rides due to the riding position. Meteor has the styling edge.

Yeah I agree. This one was only a baby. 8 miles. But the dealer said don't baby it as they have run so many demos now and said the best ones are heat cycled before riding then warm up again and ride em hard. I didn't go crazy but didn't hold back either. Looking forward to taking her off road in another video pretty soon. Heard they are great for that. Thanks for watching mate. Cheers 🍻

I just picked up a 21 Himalayan and yeah... I've had problems with the Tripper thing. It's like the moment my phone locks, it loses connection, which is kind of a problem. @Revviews Hi Rev, thanks for your speedy reply. I'm looking to commute and do some light touring on the road. Honestly, I'm probably going to go for the Meteor 350. I like the bike looks wise far more, and it also has some nice options for saddle bags, so touring isn't out of the question. I've always loved cruisers ever since I was a kid, only recently that I've been able to afford the licence, bike, etc. Either way, it was a fantastic review, my friend. I took one of these out on a test ride and didn't want to give it back. I've got a Honda Grom at the moment and I think it would be a great step up from that. I'm very short at 160cm and although I can't flat foot the bike I can touch the floor with both feet on my tiptoes. I think it would be a great tourer and good for the odd bit of green laning. I'm not sure whether to go for the Euro 5 or the Euro 4 model so if anyone reading this can give me some insight that'd be much appreciated.

I love the sheer simplicity of the Himalayan; ok, it's not the fastest or the strongest bike, but he, who needs 90+ HP and weight & all those other things that make bikes so complicated nowadays. I have a Honda CBF600SA from 2010, which I ran into for a very cheap price (only 2400$), after not having ridden a bike for 38 years. Tell you, even changing 4 plugs needs a tank & side-fairing removal; with a motorcycle that ought not to be the case....Adjusting valve clearance with that Honda? Pls remove both camshafts, ridiculous, to say the least... Saw a YT movie here that showed the complete dismantling of the Himalayan engine within ONE hour....that's why I tend to look more and more toward the RE...As you showed that the bike can cope with two up (mostly ride with my wife), that'll help too...
@Revviews3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ray, totally agree with you mate. It's a pure riding experience without all the faff that bikes come with today. I will also be putting out an offroad video we did on the same bike in the next few weeks and that in my mind cemented just how incredible this bike is. Came into its own and all the BS that some bikes come with these days was proven utterly useless. Sure for more extreme riding in the hands of a pro they might be needed but for the average rider the Himalayan offers a complete package for road and offroad and all for under £5k. So good thank you friend. Cheers 🍻
