I bought mine two weeks ago and have done over 800km already. I love this thing! Here in New Zealand we have a benign climate and endless windy, hilly backroads for which the Meteor is ideal. The handling, braking and suspension are perfect for this, although the power output is a bit marginal for the freeway. But who wants to sit on freeways all day? It's nicely put together and the detail & quality is excellent. Some established manufacturers need to be very very worried because RE is going to eat their lunch!

Its predecessor THUNDERBIRD 350 was a super hit in India. And now the Meteor 350 is following that bright path here. s Stuart Fillingham in the UK says, this bike appeals to muliple, intelligent personalities, regardless of their sex or experience as motorcyclists. I got my Fireball Yellow Meteor 350 on September 20th, and I LOVE IT! I'm an older, retired, and experienced rider. I owned 11 bikes before my Meteor, including a 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100. I've had big fast bikes; I've been there, done that, and lived to tell about it! Now? I just want to do some lazy crusing on local back roads here... :) In addition to the types of riders you mentioned (who'd like the RE Meteor 350), there's another class or rider many reviewers miss: older riders like me who've downsized. When you get older, your mind and body change. You also have greater appreciation of how much longer it takes to recover from injuries. We want something lighter, easy to manage, economical to own & operate, and fun! My neighbor across the street, who retired today, also got himself a Meteor 350; he downsized from a Yamaha Venture. Anyway, don't forget us older riders who've downsized our rides. We want to keep riding, but we don't need something big, fast, and expensive anymore; we don't need to prove anything. We just want to enjoy the ride... :)
@roaddirttv3 жыл бұрын

For those who don't know since foundation in '72 Harris Performance has tweaked or supplied frames for GP, Superbike and Endurance racers by Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and Sauber Petronas.

You might feel a bit large on it, but be worth it to go have a look, take a sit, and if they’ll let you, go for a ride on it. I don’t think power will be a problem, but size/fit might be an issue. Worth a look,

Plenty of taller riders tell us they’re enjoying it. I think you’ll find it much larger feeling and lots more power than your old 250. For a single thumper 350cc, it’s surprisingly good, as we noted in the video review.

Rob, enjoyed your Videos of the RE INT650 and Meteor. I’m 5’3 1/2” with a 28” inseam and 69yrs old. I want to get back into riding, mostly around town but I do have to travel on Freeways at speeds of 70 to 85mph. I like Cruisers as that’s what I rode last in the late ‘80s.! What bike would you recommend for me? Thank Rob I really value your opinion! And Cheers from Salem, Ohio.
@roaddirttv3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rick, and thanks for the kind comments! Happy to learn you want to return to the saddle. The Meteor is a fantastic bike, well built, and crazy affordable. But I’m not sure a 350 might be good for sustained highway speeds approaching 80+. That INT650 would certainly suit that, so you’ll have to find an RE dealership near you and test ride one, see how you fit and feel on it. Unsure about their front forks, but the twin rear shocks are 5-way adjustable for preload. You might also take a look at Triumph’s Street Twin 900, but feels and handles nimble like a 650. It’s also got preload adjustable rear shocks as well. I love the “modern classics” so many brands are selling now. They remind me of the standards back in the 60s-70s, but with modern tech. Let us know what you sample and end up buying, Rick! Best to ya!

Hey Rick! I see your from Salem, Ohio. I live in North Lima (10 miles down the road and 70 years young). I thought you might be interested in my opinion, (having a few small bikes in the past 5 or 6 years), and just love riding the back country roads between North Lima and Salem, ( no freeways!). I had a Yamaha 650 V-Star and 950 V-Star but sold them both because they were both had more power than I needed! I had a 2005 Yamaha Virago 250 and sold it and bought a 2016 Hyosung G250 (another 250 cc V-twin). Then I bought a 2017 Honda Rebel 500 (in 2018). Last year I purchased a Stella Red Meteor 350, so that's 3 bikes in my garage. I love them all for cruising the back farm country roads around Salem (normally 45 mph speed limits), and occasionally 55! However, my favorite bike is the Meteor! It's perfect for me and my style of riding. (And priced nicely). We all enjoy jumping on different bikes now and then so owning three (verses the price of one Harley) works for me. I fell in love with RE Classic 350 Signal Edition at first site! I love the vintage (post WWII) looks about it! It's pretty much like the Meteor with a little longer span and a little higher seat (less the "Tripper" navigation) so I might be selling the Rebel 500 and the Hyosung and replacing them with the Classic 350 as I just love the little thumper engine of my Meteor. (Never thought I'd go back to a single jug ... having road a Yamaha 350 Enduro back and forth from Dayton, Ohio while in the Air Force in the early 70's! ) Of course, if you subscribe to Ol' Man Rowan's channel, you know how much he loves the Meteor ( and he's a Harley Guy!). Anyways, you being about my age (and Ol'Man Rowan's), I thought I'd steer you in the RE Meteor 350 or Classic 350 direction! $4500-$4800 ... brand new, with 3 year warranty and road side assistance! (Who else does that!... although I don't think you'll ever need to use the warranty... they're tough little bikes! Also, my bikes all weigh in around the 400 lbs. range which means my old knees can man-handle them! Hope this helps?

@@vscolkitt Cool, nice to know your that close. My Grandparents use to own Hill’s Flowers on top of the hill in N.Lima for years and I did 3 1/2 yrs in the Army in the early ‘70s. I’ve been a Musician on the side for 58 Yrs and have been doing it full time for the last 12. I was looking REALLY HARD at the RE Meteor but sine I travel on 11 and 80 to Hermitage one a week for Rehearsal, and since the Meteor only has a Top of 70mph if it’s pushed I dont think there will be anything left to get me out of trouble if I need to. RE was to come out with a 650 Cruiser this Spring but they tell me now they don’t know when or if it will make it to the US. I looked at the INT 650 and the Rebel 500 and 1100 for more options but ALL Accessories are optional and no one ever mentions Shipping and Setup Prices which are killer! Got price on the RE INT 650 w/no options of $8800 from Motozilli located in Warren I think. Why can’t I get a bike like my old CB360 or CX 500 Custom w/ Shaft Drive anymore? I don’t need a 600lbs Shadow! LOL! I guess I just wish the Meteor had a little bit more Power at the rear wheel than 17 or 18hp. Still lookin though. Thanks for your assistance I’m into the Meteor style I guess. I’m also short at 5’ 3 1/2” with a 28” inseam so a 31 1/2” seat is a tip toe for me but ya never know I’ll have to sit on a few soon!! Thanks man, nice to know there’s someone close that’s into riding as well. May we’ll meet up some day when I get another bike and do some riding! Cheers!!

For a 350 cc single, we were pleasantly surprised. Did some local state hwy stints, no interstate, and it will cruise at 65 mph, albeit rpms elevated of course. But like the old Honda CB 350s of our youth, it’ll do what you need it to do. We only pushed it to about 70 mph once, nothing beyond.

Good work. Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up! I wonder if it has a center stand, an USB-port and if the seat can be lifted in order to store some tools?
@roaddirttv3 жыл бұрын
In fact it does have a center stand! We failed to mention that in the story. Never found a USB port, and to get under the seat(s) is a bit of a chore. Have to unscrew the 4 Allen bolts securing the rear grab rails/backrest, remove it, then the passenger seat pops off. Then two bolts secure the driver seat, to give access underneath. No real room under the seat for storage. The two side panels come off with relative ease, and that’s where access to the battery, tool kit and some electronics are located.
