K-pop labels are the master at pre-release YT promos. A typical release is preceded by two to four 15-second snippets from the upcoming video, an infographic static image video which lists song and production credits with yet more music snippets. Sometimes each individual member of the group (there may be from four to twelve members) will also get an artist profile mini-video. Plus artists have their own YT channels separate from the label's channel, so you have the opportunity to see all this stuff more than once. And that's only YT. They also bomb IG and FB with links to those same videos, plus additional promo content specific to each platform. When the music/video itself is released it's quickly accompanied by a dance rehearsal version, a fan chant version, a live performance from a South Korean TV show, a "behind the scenes making of the video" version, and finally dozens and dozens of fan-made videos highlighting the vocalist for each individual line of the song, reaction videos, etc. It's really overwhelming, but effective.

Lots of really neat ideas here, very practical and it's helpful to see how you would implement these ideas on a day to day basis. I tried to follow your original plan you posted at the start of the year but it didn't work for me. After the first couple of releases I couldn't be consistent as work and study had to take priority. I also think that my music is a) pretty average and/or b) not emotionally resonating with many people beyond myself and/or c) very niche. This is useful information because it means I can stop feeling pressured to turn music into a financially profitable side gig and go back to enjoying it as a creative release and hobby. It's still fascinating to learn about DIY marketing approaches though, you never know when they might come in handy for other things.
