@@RogueOutdoorsmen That’s crazy! If I find six in a year that’s good. My problem is I like to make bottle openers with arrowheads and antlers but if I find the antler on our far I keep it. But so far this year I have seven counting two my neighbor found on our place and gave them to me👍🇺🇸

Thanks for watching. it's an easy way to get in somewhere and not have to worry about coming back out that day, but it usually means your pack is heavier than normal.

I would estimate the age of most of the chalky ones and do some past weather research. Make a good guess at why they were there and apply it to further hunts know what I mean bad weather spots probably aren't the same as miLd winter spots also being primarily deer sheds probably means somthing also good luck!

I was one of the loggers in the Apache reservation in 2003 after the Rodeo fire, some fantastic elk country I would love to go back in there shed hunting for old time sake but I don’t know if the public is aloud in there. I’m from Michigan and go to Phoenix every winter

Was it public land or were you on the reservation? That fire changed quite a few things. The deer numbers went way up in that burn area on state side.

They are worth some money to someone out there. Deer sheds aren’t worth as much as elk sheds, but $20 is $20 as the saying goes.

@@christopherwagner2261 they sell by the pound, usually $9-$11 per pound for fresh brown deer sheds, les for whites, way less for old chalky stuff. Antler buyers all over, look on CL or FB locally.

I’ve been looking into finding sheds for my doggo since they are so expensive to buy any advice for newbies in AZ?
@RogueOutdoorsmen3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, buy the one in the store or from one of my antler buddies selling them online. By the time you add up your gas, food, gear, and miles traveled, it’s cheaper to buy the ones in the store. Time is money, it takes a while to find the right spots, but this is the right time of year where you could get lucky, and stumble into one.

@RogueOutdoorsmen3 жыл бұрын
You can hike for miles and miles in the wrong places. You have to find where the bulls and bucks hang out in Feb - May and you will find some shed antlers. Once you find some, you'll keep finding a lot more places to look. Unit 7, 8, 9, and 10 should be what you should focus on. If you'll start driving around more in the mornings and evenings, you might see what you are looking for. Once you locate them, then start hiking around. You might even get lucky and find a road shed this time of year.
