First time watching your terrific videos. Started with part 2 ... just happened that way ... so I don't know anything about the history of you and your son but it pulls hard on my heart when you talk about him and how you miss him. I'm thinking hard and researching my options and at age of 71 I'm a little reluctand but still determined to make the trip to Sturgis in 2023... it's not the rally so much as I want to ride as many of those great places in that area as I can. So your trip is really inspiring! I too will most likely be going solo unless I can figure out how take my 105 lb. shepard, and I don't really see any way to make him comfortable on such a trip...trailer is out of the question but a modification to a trike might work. Looking into buying something and experimenting with it. A nice mod. something like those old police trikes but on a goldwing? Anyway, I'm loving this video and it's making me anxious to get to work and get ready to head out to see that countryside once again. I was out there in the 70's so my memory is a little vague but your video and narration is great.... thanks! I'm a new subscriber.

Thanks for the nice comment. My son and i worked really hard throughout the spring and summer to make this trip happen scheduling vaca with his work, bike prep, gear, etc… We were really pumped for the trip and ready with routes, camping and hiking all planned. 5 days before the trip he was run off the road on his commuter bike by a distracted driver coming back from the auto parts store. He suffered a concussion, major road rash, and broken collar bone. In my reluctance, he still wanted me to continue with the trip since so much planning went into it. I told him if i go, it’s just going to be a ride and in 2022, we will make our trip happen. I think traveling by MC is the best way to see and feel this great and beautiful country and I encourage anyone to experience it. Because you never know. Ride safe my friend.

Great video and soundtracks; they really make you think..you know? I live near the Appalachians, the views are similar but not as beautiful as the Rockies. I'm waiting to get the clutch rebuilt on my 2004 GL1800 so I can get out there and do what you're doing. Safe travels and God Speed
