I'm brand new to this, so pardon me. I just got this bike in 2022 model, what does the tape you described do? How do you like the stock saddle did you replace it?
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question mate! Congratulations on picking up a sweet ride! The tape on the top tube is protection from minor scrapes & adds a bit of style to your bike. I kept the stock saddle, it works well for me. If you’re having any issues with it, go to your local Specialized dealer & get a Retul fit 👍🏼 Thanks for watching!

hey, nice bike. I am also planning to by Evo. Wanted ot check, how do you save your top tube from such low stacked handlebar?
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy Жыл бұрын
Hey Vinay, thanks for watching mate 👍🏼 I have a dyedbro protection kit on my top tube, but I still managed to take a chip out of the top tube in a crash. Short answer is try not to crash 😂
@VeloVinay Жыл бұрын
@@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy oops. This is so weird that such a big company is not even thinking about it. Trek, Orbea are atleast addressing it. I am more worried about crashing only. For regular light flips, the protectiontape would do. Anyway thanks 🙏

For me, it’s only my dropper release that touches the top tube. I also have a different bar & stem on my bike, so that may make a difference. 👍🏼👍🏼

what about the antisquat. does it need lockout?
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hey @saman the shock has a two position switch to aid in climbing. I use it to get up the hills faster, but in descend mode, it climbs just fine 👍👍

What size frame you riding fella, and if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your height?
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul! I’m riding a large frame & I’m super comfortable. I’m 5” 10, long arms and legs 👍👍

@@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy thanks David, much appreciated. I’m 6’2 with a 90cm inseam and have an XL on order in the comp model. It’s the satin carbon not the yellow. Think if that yellow was an option in the UK I’d have been all over it. Looks sweet 👌👌
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Nice one Paul! You’ll love it 🙌 I see the colour range in the UK is super limited, which is a real shame. I thought we had it tough down here in NZ... Hope your bike arrives with you soon, for your spring/summer season of riding 🤘

I am 5'10 too which is between M and L. Everybody recommend L, still cant make decision if I should with M or L... do you think you could put shorter stem on L or longer on M? I have read somewhere that it is better to go short rather than long. Thank you
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy2 жыл бұрын
Go for a large. Leave the stem length as standard. The stem is pretty short already, so reducing it could be an issue. Extending a stem introduces its own small issues. I’m loving the large. It’s just right for me.

Nice, what's the weight?

12.5kg in its current form. Bottle cage, SWAT tool, RaceFace carbon bar & stem & XT pedals fitted 👍👍

I tried to get a comp for months. Ended up forking over for the expert vs not getting one at all! I have to say I’ve had a ball on it so far! Way more excited about the ride than I was on my stumpjumper. This is an awesome bike for sure. My only complaint is the handlebars being low enough that the gear shifter will hit your top tube. I immediately bought some riser bars to get clearance.
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Awesome Kenny! The expert is a sweet looking rig! What colour did you get your hands on?
@kentao43 жыл бұрын
@@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy I was sold on the burnt orange but then I saw that matte blue in person.... if you haven’t seen it in person, the videos and pictures do it no justice. I typically like gray/black etc hence why I was looking for the comp. Now that I have the blue, I haven’t looked back.
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Sounds unreal! I haven’t seen it in person, but I’d love to. Some of the colours in the Specialized range look pretty average online - until you see them in person.
