I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing

All those adjustments ,just to complicated for me. I’m sure it’s a spectacular ride but I’m not chasing a world title. I mostly ride alone ☹️

I ride this bike now since two months and it is "ok" but not "very good" in any way. Good things: Versatile geometry with lots of possible adjustments and a nice look and feel in general (not overly stiff, balanced geometry), but I found many problems so far. The fork shows strong bushing play, the DPX2 had some air inside the hydraulics, the paint job is so bad, if u remove some dust with your gloves on the paint will actually scratch. Plus, after removing the protection film form the frame the paint became lose and is now stuck to the protection film in one area. This should not be the case in this price category :( didnt have any problems with my Transition Patrol's (2x) that I rode the last 6 years so now I try to get a replacement frame... I hope this will be fixed soon so that I can go out and ride my bike again.

Well now Specialized have a 150mm 29er (Stumpjumper EVO), 160mm mullet (Status) and a 170mm 29er (Enduro) all aimed at more gravity focused riding... smh

Thomas Li The status is a designated mullet bike and is also supposed to be the affordable option.
