Those snow tires did really well.

This is impressive. I'd think that even my 2013 with no X-mode can do this with Blizzaks, albeit with more wheelspin. Can't do this with a Rav4, I've tried. I'll probably get a 2021 Crosstrek with the bigger motor when mine dies but it's hopefully still got a lot of life left. Can't go wrong with a Subaru in the North. Haters gonna hate but I love the simplicity of the car and ease of maintenance despite having to have a few weird tools (T70 torx, weird extensions, etc).

It's great for light off road and then some. But it's also very reliable in the winter time. Especially when there's a snow storm - I enjoy that a lot! Very practical. You can check out my other vids.

Rav 4 2006 with 2.2 liter 177hp and nokian winter tyres, haven't found a place that it can't climb

@@carlodanese9120 ok then! viscous coupling for the win! honestly some of the older mechical based awd in the early 2000's were better than the newer technology based ones today.

Sometimes the driver makes a difference. When you know the limits of the car and you understand how it works, then you'll enjoy every bit of the ride. I like to say: More fun to drive fast with a slow car then to drive slow with a fast car. This said, it's about the same logic with the Subaru versus hardcore off road machines.

@@OutdoorFun01 I'll go into more detail: my friend has a 2017 Rav4 and we were out on a back road, she got it stuck because both tires on the driver's side got in muck and it wouldn't budge even with the AWD lock button on, stuck tires just kept spinning and no enough torque went to the wheels on dry ground. We had to flag down a truck to help pull it out. Just for fun, I did the same thing with my 2013 crosstrek and had no problem getting out. I can really hear the ABS module pumping on my Subaru when one wheel loses traction and I think it's much more aggressive at stopping wheelspin than the Rav4. But as I was saying, some of the older more mechanical systems seem to give more torque than the newer ones. I do think Toyota has better reliability but I'm absolutely floored by Subaru's AWD.

Was watching 2021 Kia sorento having issues on dirt transmission started to heat up. Noting comes close to Subaru.
@OutdoorFun013 жыл бұрын
It's true. Never had issues with over heating. I have coolant and oil temperature gauges showing the temperature continuously and never showed fatigue.

This is the most gorgeous, interesting but controversial color out there. I want one so much! A friend of mine commented it looks like color of poop. Under certain lighting condition, I can't say that she's wrong. But still, I really like the color.
@OutdoorFun013 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I wish I could poop that color. But seriously, this a color that is offered only in the Outdoor trim. So I wanted my car to stand out.
@lsx0013 жыл бұрын
@@OutdoorFun01 haha I wish they'd expand the color to the limited trim. How do you like the seats? I wonder if you have compared the outdoor trim seats with a subaru leather seat?
@OutdoorFun013 жыл бұрын
@@lsx001 I haven't tried one with leather. But this material is pretty nice. I'm happy it offers it because I go camping, fishing, dog hair, etc... very easy to clean ( just water, soap if needed.). The limited trim is pretty expensive for me and I don't need a moonroof since I have a roof cargo.

@@lsx001 I love my 2021 sport in this color. It stands out and I like that the stitching for the sport trim matches the color of the car. The special material for the seats is amazing. Softer than the leather in the limited in my opinion. I test drove the limited before getting the sport. To me the sport "leather" is a much better quality than the limited leather.

No problem for Subaru. And looks like he goes wo Xmode

I did use X-mode deep snow. But went really slow to feel the system working... it wasn't a challenge. 😉

@@OutdoorFun01 I'll say , I went camping with a buddy in -14 deg. F weather , through the night . The truck barely started in the morning. Many years ago , and I still remember.

@mikewallace8087 oh ya! Went through that, too, once at -33 Celsius... I didn't sleep that night because I had to watch the chimney that caught fire. I was about 50 km away from the next neighbor. Fun right!? Haha!

more of a diagonal climb than a diagonal test...

I did very slowly to see how the awd was managing the "challenge". Surely, the Subaru made it look easy. Take a look at my other vids! 😉 I could of put an other title, but it's still was a pretty steep climb. There's an other vid that I tackle it going forward.
