2021 Subaru XV 2.0i-S EyeSight Review
If you want the comfort and handling of a sedan, but worry a little bit about Manila's frequent floods, and horribly paved roads, then a crossover is your best bet. Not all crossovers are created equal though, and more importantly, not all are blessed by engineers to handle well. Thankfully, Subaru has endowed upon us a power and nimble little crossover in the form of the Subaru XV (aka. Subaru Crosstrek) with great handling brought about by its low-mounted boxer engine, good suspension, and whilst still providing adequate comfort, and ease of drive.
For the 2021 model year, the XV receives a bunch of minor exterior, and interior updates, as well as new drive modes, and features which will make your daily drive, and fun rides just a little bit more enjoyable.
2021 Subaru XV Facelifted model changes:
1. New front grille and bumper
2. New 18" rim design
3. SI Drive
4. 2-setting X-mode
5. 8" HD touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto
6. 8-way power adjustable driver seat with 2 setting memory
7. LED fog lights
8. Auto tilting passenger wing mirror when put into reverse
9. Speed sensing auto door locking
10. Tuned coils and dampers for improved comfort
11. 3 new colors (Plasma Yellow Pearl, Horizon Blue Pearl, Magnetite Grey Metallic)

Nice Review!!! We have a 2016 Subaru Outback 2.5L, Its true Subaru CVTs sound is not really that annoying compare to other cvts out there!

Thanks hahaha! Pag boxer engine, instead of up and up down movement ng pistons, horizontal siya so parang nagsusuntukan yung mga pistons. Since horizontal siya, less height, so lower rin. Lowering center of gravity, improving handling

Hi Kyle, how different would be the fuel economy figures for this XV or a XT Forester 2018 and its driving dynamics? I already have a 7 seater. I didn’t want the new Forester because it didn’t have the turbo but if I’d have much lesser weight like the XV, I guess I wouldn’t mind this one considering its tech, hence the eyesight and new global platform design.

In general, I found the driving dynamics of the Subaru crossover models to be rather similar. Slight difference but only perceivable when you truly look for them. Even fuel economy actually. This is true for the XV, Forester, and Outback

Who knows when those systems might go loco. Kidding aside, the Subaru eyesight seems far more advanced than most because it uses cameras instead of sensors. The one thing I am so opposed to with the Subs is their widespread use of CVT. CVTs kill whatever driving experience is left in the car.

Thanks for subbing! Well the manual mode is great for a simulated gear CVT transmission, but of course it still can’t compare to nor feel like what you’d get with a dual clutch system in terms of crispness and responsiveness

Honestly, disregarding price, it’s the Azkarra for all 3 of those. Only time I would go for the XV in this situation is if you wanted a smaller car, Eyesight, and Symetrical AWD

How would you compare the ride of the Subaru XV with Ford Territory - in terms of suspension and how it feels on the road? I've narrowed down my choice between Territory and Subaru XV. I've test driven the Subaru XV and was really impressed how quiet and how good the suspension is. Subaru XV is my top choice at this point over the two, but it is way more expensive. If the price of both is the same, which one would you choose?

I live in Brazil and I need information about SUBARU XV. I intend to purchase the car, but here we only have the 2022 Hybrid model, which I don't like, they say it's weak. I prefer the gasoline XV 2021 model, it looks more robust. Another thing, we only have 4 stores in Brazil and a few mechanics, but above all I dream of having a SUBARU. I was thinking about importing the car, I have that possibility Is this car really worth buying? What do they say to me? Thanks

Bought it Bnew 2018. This is Casa Maintained. XV, the most unreliable vehicle we have! 35k odo, and BallJoints, Stabilizer links, Front Rotors are worn out, and 4 Speakers 🔊!! I cant believe how Fragile this vehicle is! What a waste of Money!!!! Dont buy it!
