The highlight for me was the 20km long technical descent from the Passo del Bernina starting at 1:08:20

I just came across your channel and have been trying to get my cycling endurance up. I really enjoy these beautiful landscapes and the heads up display you’ve got going on. I try to match your effort on my exercise bike and just pretend like I’m not staring at the wall. Thanks for the effort that goes into the edit as well as the race itself. Cheers from the U.S. I really enjoy your videos! Hopefully you’re okay and will upload more eventually. I don’t know how the seasons of these things works

@@bengoyette thanks! I’m investing in my first mtb and am going to pick it up tomorrow. I did my first fifteen mile trail a couple weeks ago and I’m really excited to shred! Many thanks!

Been watching your videos for a while and I enjoy them, as an XC guy, but these are especially good because you have a teammate. Realized that I like watching much better when there are other riders/groups in the footage and not just your front wheel. That said, I know what’s it like to race and I end up riding solo for giant stretches as well. Looking forward to seeing the rest of these stages!

Hey man. I just found your videos. I love POV videos of races and epic rides. I used to GoPro my own, but cool to see others less edited. SUBSCRIBED!!!! Already watched Stage 1. Wicked.

Great single track around lake for sure :) It looks like your team mate is not as strong and confident on descents as you but he ensures that u will not run out of fuel by the end of race :)
@peterwilson18312 жыл бұрын
riding completely blind trails we've not ridden before, its hard to choose the best line when you're first in to every turn, at least Ben got to see me take the wrong lines a little in advance and choose better 🤣
@peterwilson18312 жыл бұрын
Ben is definitely the better all-rounder for sure. but with, 5 days straight you need to make split second choices to protect equipment and body, so we err on the cautious side. No prizes for sending it too hard and going home in helicopter.
@dev-on-bike2 жыл бұрын
@@peterwilson1831 you are right with being cautious, maybe terrain looks easier on camera then it was in reality :) I think that this race can be considered in terms of adventure with beautiful views so hurry is not a priority :) How did u like Europe with a little bit of chilly circumstances ?

@@peterwilson1831 How is going your lefty ocho? What's your opinion about this fork ? Did u have issues with it already?
@peterwilson18312 жыл бұрын
@@dev-on-bike No issues with the Ocho, i had it serviced by Eighty-Aid right after i bought the bike and they tweaked some internals. It took a lot of abuse during the Swiss Epic and i'd be lying if i said i wasn't a bit nervous, but it did absolutely great. the bike was setup really well

Hey Ben. Another great footage. Much appreciated. Your front tyre looks quite aggressive. What are you running? Do you often change to match the terrain?

I ran the Kenda Regolith Pro 2.2 SCT. They were perfect for the conditions in Switzerland. In SoCal I run the Kenda Booster Pro most of the time.

I really cannot imagine how can you have such a low BPM uphill in the middle of a race :). How old/heavy are you? If i was in that race i would have constant 170+ BPM.... I'm 47y and 104kg/230pounds....
@bengoyette Жыл бұрын
My LTHR is around 174 bpm. I can’t hold 170 for 6 hours so I have to pace myself in Zone 3 and reserve threshold efforts even needed to pass through a difficult section.

Hi Ben what do you mean when you say 'we got some timing to do' ? Is it for particular segments of the trail? Cheers

@@bengoyette Oh shit my bad. Now I realize you probably said 'we got some climbing to do' ..... sorry about that. Is the other guy you're riding with your relative? Just curious.

The Bikes don't have very good suspension it seems and the wheel seems really big for Mountain Biking. I am surprised you guys don't use Bikes similar to the ones in Megavalanche.
@bengoyette Жыл бұрын
For this stage I wish I had a bigger bike for sure. But there's a rule in that race that we must use the same bike for all stages. So the XC bike is the optimal choice for the event.
