It makes you wonder if the 60v is ready for prime time. I thought it would rev up on thicker/taller grass. The high lift blade is meant for bagging mostly. I use a 20 year old SuperRecycler all push no assist with a high lift blade at the moment on flat part of lawn. It cuts better with no clumps than a gas 2020 SuperRecycler with a standard blade.

Yes, I am definitely not using the blade for what it's designed for. I'm very happy with the mower, though. I'm just finding that sweet spot and it seems to be the performance blade on MAX setting. That's been my go-to lately. Has the overall design of the SR changed much in the last 20 years? Does your old SR have kickers and an accelerator wing like your new SR?
@skyemac83 жыл бұрын

I have really thick St Augustine and the 60V SR with the performance blade and auto or max cuts extremely well. It kicks into high often in auto mode but never has an issue. Very happy with it.

@@nws-qk9pj Good to hear. My favorite blade so far is the performance blade. I think it's just an all around good blade to use.

Were you bagging ? My high lift blade did not do this. I mow average twice a week, Sunday and Wednesday or Thursday, Sunday. I bag mine. My lawn is Prenatal ryegrass and fine fescue..
@jkprojectsnstuff6973 жыл бұрын
I was mulching, but although I saw it wasn't doing well, I was doing a timed run. The more I mowed the more I wanted to abort the stopwatch and switch to MAX setting. The grass may have been slightly longer than usual, but not by much at all. So you bag on AUTO with the high lift blade and it does fine? I'm pretty convinced that the AUTO setting and high lift blade is a bad combo.
@Dpixtion3 жыл бұрын
@@jkprojectsnstuff697 only thing I can think of is mine is the Toro 21466T version. The speed of the motor is automatically controlled and I have the vortex. With high lift it’s made to pull blades up, cut and toss up high in the skirt so it can find its way to the bag catcher. The higher lift blades are horrible at mulching.
@jkprojectsnstuff6973 жыл бұрын
@@Dpixtion You're right. The high-lift blade really isn't a mulching blade. But it does much better on MAX. In the future I should just stick to the correct blade for the job!
@Dpixtion3 жыл бұрын
@@jkprojectsnstuff697 J, you have the blade for the job.. don’t cut yourself short (no pun intended). Try again with the bag on it. My first time with the high lift my battery life was horrendous, but I’m not sure what happened after two more mowing it improved the life of the charge/mow time. One more thing I’ve noticed on both blades, if the grass is at all damp, it will leave clippings behind and in clumps too regardless of the blade I have on.
@denniswillman74542 жыл бұрын
I plan on running a hi lift on my new 60v/7.5. How big is your battery? Did you only get this clumping during mulching? Does it preform this badly when bagging? Is it a problem on max power setting? What kind of times are you seeing with hi lift blade + max setting / battery size?
@jkprojectsnstuff6972 жыл бұрын
I run the 7.5 aH battery. Yes, the clumping was from mulching. I used the high-lift blade with the bag in the fall to pick up leaves. It did an excellent job. I'm almost always using MAX setting. I get terrible run times (20-25 mins) with the high-lift and MAX setting, but I have 3 batteries now. I would say anytime the high-lift blade is on, the bag should be on. It cuts much better when bagging with the high-lift blade. Hope I got all your questions answered. Thanks for the comment!

Do you have any experience with a gas powered recycler, specifically the 2020 model? I waited and waited for the 60v super recycler kits to come back in stock, gave in and purchased a used like - new 2020 super recycler with the 190cc engine. 2 days later Home Depot gets the 60v kits back in stock lol. Trying to decide if I want to just stay with the gas, which it has the push button start and vertical storage so it almost feels like it’s an electric model, or buy the 60v kit and resell the gas powered (paid $400 initially). Curious your thoughts if you have experience with something like that in performance, cut quality etc.
@mrmullin73 жыл бұрын
I have the 2020 163cc gas version and it’s very nice. I’d imagine it would be even that much better with the bigger engine and electric start. Mine pull starts very easily though and has very good performance mulching and bagging. Always a great cut.
@jkprojectsnstuff6973 жыл бұрын
I think it comes down to whether or not you want to go all electric. I liked the idea of getting rid of gas cans and not changing oil or air filters. Either way wasn't a big deal and I could have continued on the way I have my entire life, but I was ready for a change. Your 190cc Super Recycler probably has the edge on the 60V in several ways, in my opinion. But again, it really depends if you are itching for a battery powered mower or not. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
@mrmullin73 жыл бұрын
@@jkprojectsnstuff697 , yeah, I probably would have gone with the 60v version if it was out at the time. Dealing with gas isn’t a huge deal, but there’s the air filter, oil and spark plug too. Mine goes through air filters when going over dusty sections or bagging dry leaves.
