I like how the price is still the same. Just built one on Toyota with the sprayed bed and a couple other things. Full price at 55k.

Yes, as of today there are plans for a complete redesign in 2022. Possibly, Hybrids. But, that could change. Fingers crossed.

You're paying $50,000 plus for an off road package and no spray-in bed liner? That should be standard with the TRD Pro trim. Now, if you are buying a work truck that's a basic trim level and bed liner is optional.

combined 14mpg is unacceptable this day and age for a half ton truck. Lots of engines out there have over 400 bhp and damn near 500 ft lbs of torque and get 21 mpg combined.

Great point but I want the tried and true V8, which is going away. The reason I love the Tundra (and Toyota for that matter) is because it is dependable and simple. I don't want all the extra gadgets/tech found on a lot of the newer trucks. I am excited to see what they come up with though.
@soapbox1874 жыл бұрын
Because hybrid and turbocharged designs are going to tank reliability. I just bought an SR5 a few weeks back for the specific reason that the v8 engine is going to be scrapped. There is no way a turbocharged v6 is going to efficiently haul my trailer, dogs, kids and wife across the country. Dont even get me started on the hybrid, if they ever put it in a pickup. Toyota has the hybrid system down to an art but for city dwellers who are fine with short drives, stop and go traffic. coupled with the auto start/stop I smell a lot of burned out engines, starters, turbochargers and wallets. Tried and true. Buying gas is merely the small reliability tax one had to pay for a truck that is going to last 20 years
