I'm keeping this video bookmarked. I recently purchased the exact Venza you demo: Limited; Blizzard Pearl (very nice in the sun) with the Star Gazer roof and JBl/Nav package. My comment: Thank you for showing every control item and how it works. There is so much technology in this car that you need a video like this. Even after three weeks of driving mine I still had questions about operations. And there were things you covered that I would not have discovered (power adjustable steering wheel column).

Fantastic review and great content! I appreciate the details you put into your review. I am trying to decide between the 2021 Lexus Nx 300H and the new Toyota Venza Limited model. I love Lexus quality and the upscale interior of the NX, but the Venza Limited model has tons updated amenities (i.e., panoramic moonroof, HUD) , is a bit bigger and has really comfortable seats. To make the decision even more difficult, Lexus has some great incentives right now that make the prices fairly close. Any input is appreciated?

Just bought the Limited in coastal gray. Recommend the Panoramic sunroof. A real wow factor. I never opened them anyway. Took me a long time to program the universal garage link. There is a video. Took me a while to figure out the defrost buttons, and to preset stations. Learn safety functions such as defog windshield before taking a trip. The 12.3 screen is very confusing, but the manuals are excellent. I think reviewers hate it because they don’t bother reading the manual. Lexus NX also has synthetic leather. Jeez.

It just seems Toyota is limiting sales by the all-new Venza only being available as a hybrid. A Prime version with 300hp like the RAV4 Prime would be nice too.
@stephenhendricks103
@stephenhendricks103 3 жыл бұрын
Toyota needed the Venza in their lineup. Without it Toyota had no 2 row midsize unibody crossover. (The 4Runner is a body-on-frame vehicle built on a truck frame.) Consumers looking for a Toyota CUV had to choose between the Rav4 compact and the Highlander 3 row midsize. Nothing to compete with vehicles like the Ford Edge, the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Chevy Blazer, the Honda Passport, or the Subaru Outback. With the Venza in the lineup only Mazda with the midsize three row CX-9 and compact 2 row CX-5 remains without a two row midsize crossover. Interestingly, Toyota has apparently looked at the strong sales of the Highlander and the RAV4 hybrids and concluded that they can carve out a niche by offering ONLY a hybrid version of the Venza.
@toronado455
@toronado455 3 жыл бұрын
Toyota calling the new Venza a "midsize" SUV is really just a marketing ploy. Actually smaller than the RAV4 inside, and rides the same wheelbase, and 6" extra overhang. Competes with those other vehicles you listed in price only.
@stephenhendricks103
@stephenhendricks103 3 жыл бұрын
@@toronado455 Not quite.But close. It's certainly true that neither the Venza nor the Highlander is competitive with midsize rivals in terms of passenger space. But the Venza provides 108 cubic ft of passenger space compared to the RAV4's 98.9 cf and a miniscule amount of overall cargo space (70.2 cf vs 69.8 cf). Nonetheless, Toyota isn't selling "utility" in the Venza CUV. They're selling style and hybrid economy for suburban customers looking for a 2 row midsize modern version of a station wagon.

No volume/tune knobs!! You know what just came to mind? Why doesn't Toyota make a physical slidey thing, like what Honda did on their steering wheels for minute, but with actual physical clicks that run up-and-down for volume and maybe side-to-side for track/tune. Thoughts?

So I have leased the Venza since this January, coming from a 2019 RAV4. I actually LOVE the center controls in this Venza. Surprisingly tactile and responsive. In fact, especially the volume button, is WAY more precise than the knob on the RAV4, which I NEVER used, because it never landed the volume where I wanted it…

I like Toyota vehicles so far they are very reliable vehicle this Venza design much better than previous boxy wagon design at the mean time Toyota must do update on 2022 versions 1: For the drivers who are 5'10" and over if they drive long hours or stuck in traffic will feel very uncomfortable on sitting driver seat and may feel leg pain they must add manual or power thigh support like German vehicle even now some Buick models have it 2: Touch system some times in cold weather will not respond and may confuse the driver and take off his eyes off from the vehicle , A/C Heating power on off, control buttons will have to update with semi touch system as like Buick or Cardilac with led light indication 3: Back side signal indicators they should add one more under the tail lights aswell for the vehicle safety during the day driver from other vehicle may not see and cause accident 4 : Inside the vehicle power start button is too far for driver to bend down to search to press Let's hope Toyota will update

Why only a hybrid? That would limit the sales of the new Venza. It could have also been a vehicle with a 2.5 litre or 2.7 litre regular IT engine. Not everyone wants a hybrid. What is the front "camera" in the bumper for? If you live in a snow prone area that camera would get covered by snow, ice and dirt.
@MylesV
@MylesV 2 жыл бұрын
Why wouldn't someone want a hybrid if there are no compromises compared to a non-hybrid vehicle?
@don-cw1yz
@don-cw1yz 2 жыл бұрын
@@MylesV First off Toyota makes very good reliable vehicles. As far as hybrid technology Toyota has pretty well perfected that technology on their hybrid vehicles. But for example Toyota makes a Hybrid Corolla. The ICE 1.8 liter Corolla is a very fuel efficient well engineered vehicle that gets very good gas mileage. In some parts of the world they even put a small diesel engine ,or smaller gas engine into the Corolla. Not everyone wants a Hybrid vehicle for a few reasons: -Many people still do their own vehicle maintenance. That hybrid battery has about 300 volts . Make an error when working on the vehicle and it could kill you. The logical simplicity of the engineering of the ICE Corolla will allow you to replace the alternator on the car in about 30 to 45 minutes, and it is cheap to do as a rebuilt alternator is not expensive. The Hybrid version of the same car uses a generator that would require engine removal to replace and it is a very expensive part. A ICE Corolla will last a long time ,like 20 years if reasonably maintained. Toyota now warranties their hybrid batteries for 10 years. Replacing that Hybrid battery is not cheap. -The more technology on a vehicle the more possibilities of it breaking needing repair. -The cost of a Hybrid is much higher. So lets say you are a long distance work commuter. Most of your mileage would be highway travel ,there is very little cost savings on fuel. Or maybe you are retired and drive a lot less ,the additional cost of the Hybrid vehicle and cost of possible repairs just does not make sense. If you live in a cold winter climate the gas engine on that Hybrid is needed to heat the vehicle and frankly the battery will not be as efficient due to the cold. You will never have issues getting a part for a ICE Corolla as it is the best world selling vehicle and there is a huge aftermarket parts availability.
