#2021ToyotaVenza
The all-new 2021 Toyota Venza is a mid-size SUV that falls between the RAV4 and Highlander in price but not necessarily size. This new Toyota Venza SUV is based on the RAV4 hybrid but the stylish exterior is longer. The wheelbase and width is the same with the Venza and RAV4 Hybrid, it’s elongated cargo area that makes this new Toyota SUV bigger. The Toyota Venza is different from the outgoing model. The previous Venza was basically a Camry based station wagon, this new 2021 Venza is based on the Toyota Harrier SUV sold around the world. The all-new Toyota Venza SUV is a 5-passenger 2-row utility that is only offered with as a hybrid model. Using the same setup as the RAV4 hybrid, this new Venza SUV has 219hp from the 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine and the electric motors. The biggest difference between the two is the battery pack in the Venza is a lithium ion battery, unlike the RAV4 Hybrid. This Venza SUV is made in Japan. Fuel economy is impressive, rated at .9L/100km city 6.4L highway. The base model Toyota Venza comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, 8-inch touch screen infotainment screen, Apple Carplay & android Auto, power liftgate and backup camera, heated front seats, wireless charging, 8 way power driver’s seat with 2 way lumbar, blind spot monitoring. Optional features in the new 2021 Toyota Venza include
a 9-speaker audio system, 19-inch wheels, projector LED headlamps, 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, hands free power liftgate, rear cross traffic braking, heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats and 4 ways passenger front seat.
Also available on the top model of Venza is a 10-inch head up display, digital display rear view mirror, Toyota’s 360 degree camera safety system, panoramic sunroof with frost. It also comes with illuminated front scuff plate and rain sensing wipers.

I love my previous generation Venza. A few years back I drove the Sorento, the CR-V, the Rav4 and the Venza when I was buying . . . each has a niche for itself, but I can say that the Venza's seat comfort, the ride that was more car-like and the general looks/controls/dash were the best fit for me . . . this new Venza sounds like a possible future replacement.

Good work guys.. You guys are both right on target!! For the dashboard, I also prefer large knobs - and I also prefer the simple manual controls of the 90's. And now they want to control everything on a built in touchscreen. I think it is extremely dangerous trying to adjust something on the touchscreen while driving 80 mph down the road. Knobs and manual controls are much safer and can be used while keeping your eye on the road.

Like the old Venza, a great highway cruiser, just more refined. I did just pull the trigger on the RAV4 XSE hybrid a month ago, just for the fact the new Venza was 0 rated for towing, and I wanted to tow a small utility trailer, every now and again. Also just a little more practical than the Venza, plus it was close to 8k cheaper than the Venza with the same options. I know not quite as refined than the new Venza, but I am pretty happy with my choice. I do love the the look of most of Toyota’s new line up. Thanks for the video.👍

Love it!! Just bought the Limited edition in blueprint with black interior!! Over 450 miles on a tank of gas. The only thing I didn't get was the moonroof. I like my moonroof to open and the panoramic one doesn't. The fog to clear glass tech for a car is new, but in a home shower has actually been around for years ..not my preference. The limited model has full sof-tex seats.. the xle has partial fabric and partial sof-tex.

Hi guys. Fine job as always. I have to points to mention about this review, which can be useful in others. When talking about fuel economy, a mayor factor for a hybrid car, try to mention or show the km/lt or mi/gal equivalent, for us in other countries please. And don't forget to try the back seats, a very important point for a potential family hauler. As always, a nice looking couple and very insightful reviews. Cheers.

@9:40 this is like a reoccurring nightmare for Zach. I remember your reviews from the mid ~2010's ranting and raving about the volume knob. It wasn't until we owned a 2015 Honda, that I understood the pain, the suffering, the anguish and ultimately the fingerprints because of no volume knob. LOL. I just purchased a 2021 RAV4 the NO volume knob and TOUCH buttons were enough to throw me in the direction of the RAV4. What were they thinking? .. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK WITH ANDREA!!!!!

Great video, I'm trying to educate myself on new cars. I've been driving my 2004 Lexus RX 330 since I bought it brand new 2004. She's up to 137,000 miles and I love her. But getting close to retirement and would like a new car prior to that. Can't see paying the price of a new Lexus, any suggestions on what would be close match, as you can see I don't drive much, but like comfort and nice ride, and I'd plan on keeping it a long time. No small kids to deal with, just a single lady wanting a nice car to take her into her golden years. I'm all ears, Thanks again

I was pleasantly surprised by the Venza's refined ride quality and quiet cabin when I test drove it for fun when I bought my Mirai last month. I was a little bummed to see that there was no power passenger seat, at least in the XLE trim I drove. I was super hyped for it when it was unveiled and knew I was going to buy one, but I didn't feel the same after driving it. Maybe the initial Mirai test drive spoiled me with its instant torque and buttery smooth suspension, but I think I'll wait for the RAV4 Prime or probably the rumored Lexus NX plug in .

Moe Anthony Mirais aren’t all that hard to find here in California. The authorized dealers have a decent selection of brand new ones in stock. I bought a used one because Toyota is basically giving them away for free with the incentives. Used ones are not that hard to find either since all the early adopters are returning their leases now.

I remember riding in a Uber Venza vehicle a while back when I was living in DC and I was really impressed with the feel inside/out.. I thought it was a van at first but sporty ... I can see the difference in this model- Definitely more SUV this time around. Not bad. One thing, I wish you would put the mpg/fuel economy on the right up above. It would be a nice thing to reference. Also, the ground clearance wasn't mentioned, can you actually take this off the road for light stuff? It is nice to see that skylight treatment in the higher-end Venza is also in the newer 2023 Lexus NS hybrid, too. One last thing.. I love this...only concern is the Push button A/C controls.. reminds me of Same buttons on Microwaves...* they usually start fading out after a year* but i cant see them in person only the review and maybe I am wrong on how they are. Sure people will blast me in replies lol.

I think this should have been the much-overdue Lexus NX next generation. It would have been a perfect and natural fit within the Lexus lineup and would have also brought the design language back to elegance rather than the mishmash of angles that Lexus is entangled in now. P.S. Andrea, you look fab as always!

It's crazy how I saw a video from a guy on how to avoid getting tickets with window tints and in that video he showed 2 companies and a DYI window tint that turns on and off from a switch and or dimmer. Next thing you know the next day I'm watching a video about an all new 2021 Venza with the same tech that comes with the car for the top trim

Venza LE vs RAV4 LE, is the Venza worth $6000 more? Equipments plus more comfortable etc? Thanks.

Both are great vehicles but I do feel the Venza has a smoother ride. Seats feel more plush, although I have to say Toyota's SofTex seats are all very comfortable. As for exterior styling, I prefer the look of the Venza. Depends what you are looking for and if the extra $$$ are in your budget.

My Rav4 hybrid seems to have very smooth ride and that's with aftermarket 19" wheels! Perfect mix of handling and smoothness on and off pavement. Could use a touch more sound proofing on engine firewall. Love the physical buttons and layout of everything inside (easy to operate and doesn't take eyes off the road with touch screen HVAC or volume knob). Excellently cargo space and enjoy the 1750lbs towing capacity. Surprised Venza doesn't have any tow rating whatsoever (deal breaker) 🤷‍♂️

Love my 2016 Venza. I like the new looks of the 2021, but for the price, I'd rather the RAV4 Prime.

Looks are subjective. I prefer RAV4s more masculine looks and significantly lower price tag, along with more cargo space, volume knobs and physical buttons for HVAC!

Nice review! I'm on my second Venza. We had a 2015, LOVED it, but due to increase in family size (another child), we broke lease and went to a Sienna. When my 2004 Odyssey died, I wanted to get back into a Venza, so found a decently priced (& low K) 2010 Limited V6. I'm VERY surprised that Toyota is only offering the Hybrid. The inline 4 version of previous Venza's were anemic, and I'm not sure the electronic AWD will entirely cut it! As much a I like the 'innovative' sunroof - the fact that it doesn't open at all I think is going to be a downfall! Even in colder temps, I'm more inclined to open the roof or tilt vent than open side windows. I'm in full agreement with the interior - they've taken a step backwards! The exterior looks great.

How many kids before you made the decision of the minivan? I’m on my second child and not sure if that warrants a mini van, or a large SUV
@EchoesDaBear

@@patl2307 we got an '04 Odyssey after kid #2 in 2008 (off lease), never regretted it! We had an '04 Mazda Sport Wagon on lease prior. Packing for the cottage became VERY tight with both kids. SUV's have a bit more height than the Wagon, but ease of packing goes to the minivan! All depends what you plan on doing, travel wise! Our '17 Sienna is great, now with 3 kids. We can tow, have roof rack plus plenty of room for the kids. Wife & I contemplated a Highlander, but third row seating is really tight, plus you lose cargo room. Only advantage was higher towing capacity.

In the US the moonroof/sunroof is only standard in the top Limited model. I assume that's also the case in Canada. So, if it was me I would probably buy the base LE model. Also, I believe the LE has a volume button. In addition, the new Venza has over 200 HP and is quite peppy & faster than previous versions of the RAV4 hybrid.

Built on same platform with same hybrid engine an transmission. Interior no better then RAV4 other then large abailavle infotainment, ventilate seats. Interior actually worse then RAV4 as pointed out in the review. No buttons or volume knob, yikes 😬

I agree, it is definitely quieter and drives more like the Highlander than the RAV4. As for the interior, the design is strange but some of the materials used feel more upscale. The exterior in my opinion is where the Venza shines.
@James-il3tq

@Hugh MacIsaac Exterior looks are personal opinion. Venza looks more femine and boring, RAV4 more masculine. Fit and finish on all Toyota's is excellent as is the RAV4. Interior on RAV4 much better organized and practical with physical buttons for stereo (especially volume knob) and HVAC. Unfortunately Venza interior is a hot mess with everything touchscreen and drive mode + power button down low where storage for phones should go. Less cargo space then RAV4 is disappointing as is no tow rating on the Venza (RAV4 has 1750lb rating). The significantly higher price doesn't seem worth it. But always nice for Toyota's to offer more options for its customers. Hopefully new Venza has enough sales to stick around!
