2021 Toyota Venza Vs. 2021 Toyota RAV4 - Which Toyota Hybrid SUV is Best?

The #ToyotaRAV4 is the best-selling vehicle in the Toyota lineup in North America. With over 450,000 units sold last year, the latest #RAV4Hybrid represent the perfect daily driver for many people around the world. For 2021, Toyota is bringing back another vehicle that has been absent for a few years. The #ToyotaVenza is built on the same platform as the #RAV4 and it returns this year as a #Hybrid only. Sporting a Lexus-like design and a more luxurious interior, it should be an appealing alternative to buyers wanting something a bit nicer.

I 'm getting a limited for my teenage daughter. Stylish, semi luxurious inside, and fantastic milage, not to mention the perfect size. Then you add in the safety features, the 36O and the above modeled camera in the limited, it's a perfect long term car my daughter will take care, provide her access for all she does. No, I'm not rich by any means, but this automobile seems like a no brainer for the long term for with Toyota reliability, and great milage to boot. We probably won't be doing any international trios anytime soon either. I couldn't see wasting money on a new Corolla , and used cars in my area are way over-priced, and way too much commuter mileage.

i just traded my rav in and bought a venza limited and there is no comparison in the interiors. The venza just has that more upscale interior much more like a Lexus. I’ve had two Rav 4s and though i liked them i love my Venza. It’s just has a more luxurious interior.

So since my wife and I were both in the market for new vehicles, she got the Venza Hybrid Limited a few weeks ago and we love it and I am waiting on my Rav4 Hybrid Limited to arrive at the dealer on July 13th. So we chose both, my wife for the more luxurious look and me for the slightly sportier look and occasional option to tow a light trailer when needed. We are both happy.

I almost pulled the trigger on a rav 4 hybrid limited, but then they announced the venza, I immediately changed my mind because the venza has the more luxurious look and feel, pretty much a Lexus at a lot cheaper price. First thing my friend noticed when jumping in my venza was the ride quality feels a lot better than the rav 4 hybrid that she drives.

Such a thorough review of these cars. Great job explaining everything! I will say, I'm still not sure which one I will get. I love the exterior of the Venza but it seems the back storage of the RAV4 is bigger. Also ,the extra $4,000 makes me lean toward the RAV4. Guess I need to test drive and see them in person to make that final decision. But this video definitely helped me have a top 2 choice. Thank you!

New sub, i know older video here. Just want to say ty My son can attest to rav4 safety and durability. About 3 months ago an idiot driving in the left lane at over 60mph decided she no longer wanted to drive in her lane or use a turn signal. Needless to say she clipped my sons car, basically performed a PIT maneuver, flipping my sons vehicle nearly three times. My son is well. The jackass that ran into him is well and no other drivers were hurt. The rav was totalled but the cabin area, airbags and seatbelt kept my son here with us. He had some massive bruising and small cuts that's it. So im a big fan of toyota now I am here because my son wants a new rav 4 but looking into other hybrids as well. So ty again

@@kennethsmith6899 I have an older Caddy that I bought that was five years old with 19,500 miles for 15 k. 30k drop in five years, that belonged to a senior who died.. It was the first year of all the technology you see now. Love it! Would I buy a new Caddillac, absolutely not. Been doing a ton of research to buy my 16 year old an automobile that is built well, modern technology for safety, the perfect size, and great gas mileage. The Venza checks all the boxes. That's not to say we didn't look at everything out there, as well, including the Lexus dealership. The UX 200? Hybrid was as small, and non-functional as I thought it would be. We looked at the next model up, and yes it's nice, for even more money. I've run in all circles, and spending practices. There certainly are differences between cars and automobiles, and some folks spending way too much. The Toyota Venza is quality, and just luxurious enough feeling enough, without a higher based luxury branding, to be considered an automobile. Giving my daughter something nice for the long-term. I don't see us going to Europe, again, anytime soon, and I work too damn much to have a getaway by the water. This "car" should last for years, and look good at the same time.

I wish you had compared the Venza to a standard Rav4 Hybrid. The interior is definitely a step up in the venza and the engine is not better in the RAV4 hybrid so it’s a better comparison. Overall I thought the review was very efficient and thorough and appreciate the detail you went into. I was considering the Venza until you said you aren’t supposed to tow with it. What SUV isn’t recommended to tow? That’s just ridiculous on Toyota’s part. I will stick with the RAV4 hybrid I think.

When I was trying out the Venza before ordering one (done, waiting), I tried the back seat. I'm 6' and had no issue with headroom. fyi. As for engine noise when stepping on it, I like it! Lets me know there's a beast under the hood. Not a huge beast, but it's got some growl. When I test drove it (twice), not having seen the reviews commenting on engine noise, I didn't notice it. Periods of full on acceleration were brief anyway. And yeah, I'd like to have control knobs, but I'll adapt. I'm leasing mine so I'm not married to it. In a couple of years, I'll know a lot more about whether it's a longer term keeper.

No one should ever complain about the noise that a four cylinder makes ( in any vehicle ) when you squash the accelerator pedal/ plant it, because, well, it's a four cylinder after all. It's all about what you want to pay, how you want to drive, and how you want to feel. I have an eight cylinder Caddy that normally gets 14 miles to the gallon, anything other than long distance road trips where it gets 23 miles to the gallon. I enjoy driving it. I've has sports cars and plenty of motorcycles. I could care less about paying for gas, tires and brakes. It's the last freedom left. What I hate are the nerds in their Prius' doing 55 in the left lanes, to achieve mileage. Those folks should be buried. That being said, I'm going to get my daughter a long term car, that is stylish, safe, just the right size, with all the safety features, that she doesn't have to keep paying at the pump. I'm going to get her a Venza. That's not to say, that I will still be giving her professional accident avoidance, and track lessons as well. Everyone should know how a vehicle operates, and performs.

I have test driven the Venza, RAV4 hybrid limited and the RAV4 Prime SE. I loved the way the RAV4 Prime drove so much better. Price hikes here for the Prime in Silicon Valley are crazy. I preferred the larger cargo area in the Rav4 limited and the visibility was much better than the Venza. My son noticed the road noise in the Venza too. Venza’s panoramic tinting window is cool, except for the fact it doesn’t open. Thanks for pointing out the lower head room in the back seat of the Venza! We both I definitely preferred both RAV4’s over the Venza. I don’t need the huge Sienna and am looking for something smaller. We purchased our Toyota’s, new, in 2006. However, the bezel for the larger screen still remains which is just gloss black and not used for anything, something that drives me nuts. Venza is nice looking and probably rides a lot smoother since it is closer to the ground but I prefer the Rav because it sits higher, has better visibility, and more cargo space for Costco runs or packing a large dog kennel.

These are both great investments which ever route you go. The venza exterior is gorgeous, it also has a nice interior, and overall I like the aesthetics of the venza over the rav, although the rav does come in the plug in option and that is awesome, also getting over 300 HP which again is crazy for a plug in hybrid of its class. I think the venza in a few years when they add/fix a few things in the interior, and add the plug in that the rav has, will be the best investment for a reliable car

The pricing is actually closer than it sounds since it’s eligible for the $7500 tax credit, which puts the Prime at about $42,500, the Venza is $42,125. Yeah, you have to pay the 50k up front, but that EV credit evens up the price field.
