2021 - Triban RC120 Assembly and Testdrive - First Racebike

I bought a Decathlon Triban RC120 Racebike [BTWIN RC100]. In this video a short run-through of the unboxing, assembly and first ride. Dutch, with English Subtitles.

Woow eindelijk eens een Nederlands filmpje over een Decathlon artikel Maakt zoiets nog mee 👌👌👌 Even het volgende melden : Ik heb nu de rc120 reeds anderhalf jaar. Nu begint er echt vanalles te mankeren aan de fiets...en dit zelfs terwijl die steeds proper onderhouden werd. De Tourney groepset is echte rommel die erop staat. Na een jaartje begint deze echt veel problemen te geven. De schijfremmen werken ook maar half Bij een beetje regen werken ze zelfs helemaal niet meer 🤦 zeer spannend als je downhill gaat 😂👌 Op verschillende forums en bij Decathlon zelf zeggen ze als ze 1 ding willen veranderen dan zijn het de standaard wielen die meegeleverd worden. En daar hebben ze echt gelijk in. Maar ik heb zoiets van als je die verander kan je gelijk evengoed een nieuwe groepset plaatsen maar kan je evengoed een duurdere fiets aankopen.... Mijn eindconclusie.... Het is een leuke instap om met wielrennen te beginnen. Als ik de tijd kon terugdraaien dan had ik beter 500€ meer gespendeerd voor een fiets met minstens een 105 groepset en !Geen mechanische schijfremmen!

Hi! Great video! I'm also thinking about buying this bike as my first road bike. Is it good for long rides? What about your position on the bike? Are you too straight while seated or can you be in a more sport position? I don't know if I should go for this one or for the triban rc500 as I'm just going to do road, not gravel and I need something low budget

Hi. I really like the bike, this size suits me well. I took it for long rides 100KM+. You just have to set it up correctly. I use the youtubechannel of GCN for this. They have great tips. The RC500 has better components and will work also very good I think. Just a matter of choosing price v.s. quality and durability. The Triban you can definitely setup correctly and enjoy. Cheers!

@@user-sl4sx6dp4c I don't know if you've bought the bike yet but I've read that the Tribans are on the larger side and if you're between sizes you should choose the smaller one. Easier to make it bigger than smaller. I just ordered an L and I'm 190. Have an old Rockrider XL and it feels slightly too big.

Hi, I have got the bike in size L, I am 189cm. for me the sizing feels absolutely right. My brother is 199 and for him it is definitely too small. Enjoy

How did you change the orange Triban sticker to blue? Is there a ready-to-use set?

Hi, I just peeled of the orange letters carefully. Then you are left with shiny blue letters. Cheers

Thank you for the answer! I have to try that, but when I was looking at it, it felt like there is a layer of clear coat or something sprayed over it.

@@jeromelampert5632 yes that is the case. If you remove the orange letters you also remove that clear coat, you are then left with a blank letter on the bare darker blue frame.

Ok, so did you use any Tools to „break“ the clear coat?

@@jeromelampert5632 I just used the blunt edge of a knife to peel a small part of the corner, and then used my nail to peel it. If you make sure you the direction you peel in does not rip the letter, you can peel it of in one piece.

With those rubber bands you can mount the light on your handle bar and saddle pin if you would like. I do not use them.cheers

Hoe heb je de oranje stickers afgetrokken?

Hoekje even lospeuteren/duwen met botte kant van mes. Dan de rest beetje met de richting mee afpulken en trekken met de nagel. Er zit een coating over het hele frame en daar moet je even doorheen, daarna trek je ze er zo af, wel rustig. Groet

Hey, hoe heb je de letters er af gehaald?

Hi, ik heb ze met een heel dun mesje/scalpel rondgesneden en daarna losgepielt. Dat ging goed. Truc was om elke letter in 1 stuk voorzichtig los te trekken zodat niks inscheurt. Er zit een soort blanke lak over het hele frame inclusief die letter en die wil je niet 'meetrekken'. Happy biking! Groet

@@mangoteacup i just bought it. And it 's my first ever RaceBike. In Russia cold weather already and cant try :( Could you please explain why all users upgrade tyres? What is wrong with original one? What is difference with original vs tubeless?

@@DenisKrivtsov Hi Dennis, I hear and read that a lot of people upgrade the tires because of better performance, or they put gravel tires on them for more comfort etc. The original roadtyres are just fine, going tubeless reduces rolling resistance etc. All minor enhancements that could add-up to a better cycling experience. I have now put on 38mm tires and use the bike for gravel, is really nice. Good luck battling the snow. Cheers!
